Cons: None

Pros: Quiet, Excellent looking
Comment:
I purchased the Silverstone Strider ST350 a few weeks ago in order replace the aging, grinding, and dying stock PSU that came with my parents' computer. I have to say it runs great, and it significantly quieter than the old one. The install was easy, just a few screws in and out, but then again most power supply replacements are. My parents are happy their computer doesn't sound like an airplane anymore, and that means I don't get support calls as often! I'd definitely buy another of these (and probably will when it's time to replace my PSU).

Cons: Only 350W, I didn't need anymore than that.

Pros: - Stable rails- Silent operation- Cable lengths are perfect for a full ATX system
Comment:
I bought two of these in the last month or so, both are still holding up; very quiet, and very stable. The only odd thing I noticed about these PSUs is that they were both set to the 230V (European) setting instead of 115. If anyone is having issues booting up the system, try looking at that little red switch.

Cons: -Sata cables tangled-Not all cables sleeved

Pros: -Silent-Price-Build quality
Comment:
Bought two of these for separate HTPC builds. Haven't had a single problem and these are easy to work with. For some reason the sata cables are tangled at the housing but no big deal. This is my new go to PSU for my friends builds that don't need too much power.

This is a great product. I had no issues whatsoever. System is AMD 64 Athlon x2 5200+, Asus AMD 780G motherboard, Corsair XMS2 800mhz ram, Seagate 250gb sata2 hdd, old WD 20gb IDE :), Samsung DVD burner and a few fans. Great deal when on sale. It is hard to find a PSU these days for a budget system that wont let you down. I would buy this again!

Cons: No 6-pin PCI-E connectorNot 80 plus nor active PFC

Pros: Nice lookingSleeved 24-pin and 4-pin power cablesReasonably-priced on saleQuiet
Comment:
It is becoming increasingly difficult to find PSU's in this power range as many manufacturers are focusing on higher powered units. Nevertheless, many PC's may nor require more powerful PSU's, especially older PC's in need of replacement units. This model seems to appear quite regularly in the sale flyer, and if it fits your needs, is a great value IMO.It is compatible with either 24-pin or 20-pin mainboards, but the lack of a 6-pin PCI-E connector may limit the units practicality in a modern system. At this price point it also lacks features such as active PFC and an 80 plus efficiency rating, but those are not going to found on units in this power and price range anyway. The unit is all stealth-black and quite attractive if that's a consideration, and the 24-pin ATX and 4-pin ATX12V cables are both sleeved in black mesh. I found the 120 mm fan is very quiet in normal operation. The unit comes with mounting screws, a manual and a power cable. For a replacement unit or a back-up PSU this is definitely a reasonably=priced option where more power is not required.

Cons: It was set to 230v as default, I spend sometime to figure out what was wrong with this power supply. Most of them comes with 110V!

Pros: Great price, clean look, 120mm fan and enough cables
Comment:
I used this to replace old power supplies and ATX v2.2 is great and real 350w power output is more than enough.

Cons: None.

Pros: Efficient, quiet, very high quality product.
Comment:
While everyone seems to be pushing for bigger PSU's the truth is that most of modern systems with single, even high-end, video card and 2-3 drives will require not more then 200 W to run. This unit comes from the reputable manufacture and is way ahead of its generic competitors in its class. It comes with sleeved MB cable, 4 SATA connectors, quiet and efficient operation. The only thing that could be improved would be a presence of PCI-E power connector for video card.

Cons: Cables can be a bit akward to organize(see comments below)

Pros: Near silent operation.Good variety and number of connections available.High quality components and construction.
Comment:
I use this as my default power supply when building any entry level family computer or HTPC. Several steps above generic power supplies and the budget PSU's that come with most entry-level computer cases. The cables are fairly generous in length and this PSU offers a large amount of potential connections. The cables, due to length and the number of them, can be akward to organize cleanly in the smaller cases I am often installing this PSU in, but this is my own fault for choosing this particular PSU over less generous units. A bit of forethought when building the system usually prevents most of this potential frustration. The Silverstone Strider ST350 runs virtually silently and provides good power on all it's rails. Once installed and running, you won't notice this PSU.I wanted a power supply that provides clean power at it's advertised quantities and to not have any reason to notice it afterwards. So far this PSU has fit the bill and, especially when on sale here on NCIX, is an excellent value.

Bought this to replace an el-cheapo psu that died.Just a basic system, onboard video, audio, lan. Single core Athlon 64 3500+ so didn't need a mini nuclear power plant. This PSU is working fine so far.

Cons: nothing major. could use some more power leads rather than multiple molex connectors on each lead

Pros: Quiet, Inexpensive, excellent build quality. Good cable lengths and support for current and legacy motherboards
Comment:
Very good PSU. This is the second Silverstone PSU I've bought, and am just as impressed with this unit as I was with my 500w unit. Very quiet, excellent cable lengths, and support for both 20 and 24 pin motherboards. also has native SATA power connections.

Cons: -not modular

Pros: -nice looking-inexpensive
Comment:
This really is a nice PSU if you've got an old computer to power, its nicely finished and totally inexpensive, but it isn't modular and the 120mm fan isn't the best there is. It's a great pick nonetheless.

I ordered this power supply for my costumer and he's very happy with it's performance. Power it up is AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ just fine. Simply one of the best 350W power supply in the market right now. Please consider this over a generic brand. You'll be very glad that you made that decision. recommended!

Cons: I don't know if it's the motherboard being weird (AV7133) but it reports the -5v rail as 6.2 volts. But everything runs perfectly rock stable so it's all good.

Pros: - loads of plugs (4SATA, at least 4 molex)- nice look (black is nice, a couple cables are sheathed, plugs are black plastic)- runs cool- heavy (assuming it has good electronics)- quiet (it may get louder under more load)
Comment:
I got this as a PSU for a rebuilt PC for my Nan. It powers an Athlon 1200 in an A7V133 mobo along with an 80 gig WD hard drive and an old DVD burner. It runs cool and quiet in that configuration. And the black paint is nice. It's too bad it's a budget PSU and will likely not be used in a computer with a window or anything. I really liked the all-black scheme. It would probably be great in a modern PC as well. It's fairly strong in terms of amps on the 12 volt rail. For budget builds it's great. I bought the st400 for my htpc, which I am more than happy with, so when on sale with free shipping I bought one for back up and future budget builds. Using tester (not under load) all rails well within specs. Lots of connectors and long as well for a inexpensive ps. The silverstones get good reviews (skymtl, forum ps guru) so trust his testing.

Cons: No PCI Express (6pin) connectorNo fan speed control

Pros: Well builtInternally equivalent to more expensive supplies
Comment:
I have this power supply and the Fortron FSP400-60THN-R (appx. $10 more) sitting in front of me. From looking inside at the parts, they look identical...same pcb layout, same parts in the same place. They have slightly different power ratings, but they seem to be based on the same design, at least internally. The Blue Storm has mesh around the cables, and those "quick disconnect" attachments to the standard power connectors. It has 6 standard power connectors, 2 floppy, and 2 SATA, and a 6 pin PCI Express connector. The Strider has 6 standard power connectors, 1 floppy, and 4 SATA. It does NOT have a 6 pin connector. Both have the 20/24 pin and 4 pin motherboard connectors. The Blue Storm has a "Noise Killer" as they label it, which seems to be a fan speed control, based on heat. When I start it under no load, it is really quiet, I have to put my ear up to it to hear the fan noise. The Strider, on the other hand, apparently does not have fan speed control, and runs full speed at all times. This generates slightly more noise, but it is still much better than the supplies that have one or two 80mm fans.I have yet to try them under load, but from what I have read, the Silverstone supplies have very good ratings.

Cons: None for this price :)

Pros: Quality power supply for cheap
Comment:
I bought this as part of a friend's build with a M2A-VM and Sempron 3400+ since it's very cheap and come from a reputable brand. When I got the box, I was surprised at how heavy it is compared to other powersupplies of this wattage, which mean it's very well built to sustain some abuse.Installed with ease and powered the box without issues. The connectors is well distribued so I can use 1 line to plug all the drives (3 molex and 1 floppy) instead of dealing with the mess of multiple lines and unused connectors.Overall, it's a nice powersupply, perfect for the budget boxes.

Cons: Regular price too expensive for 350WNo PCI-E connector

Pros: Looks greatVery stablePartially sleevedVery quiet
Comment:
Thought I'd give this unit a try instead of the usual Sparkle 400W I normally buy for budget systems. It's definitely a nice unit that provides stable and reliable power. It's slightly more efficient than the Sparkle (1-2W less measured from the wall at varying degrees of load; I estimate both units are about 70% efficient) and it's much quieter. It has 6 molex, 1 floppy, and 4 SATA connectors. It's 20+4 pin so you can use it with both 20 and 24 pin boards but it does not have a PCI-E connector. It's also quite expensive for a 350W unit - I don't think I would spend more than $40 on it, so wait for it to go on sale or pricematch.FYI, the ATX cables are 51cm/20" long measured from the bottom of the bottom of the PSU to where the wires disappear under the plastic This review was modfied by poster @ 08-12-07 10:54 PM
