Quickly and great capacity although it functions Two of three died inside two weeks. DON'T Get A DRIVE WITH THE Value Reduced. It appears they are reduced at Newegg for a purpose.

none....at all everything, challenging drive installed windows perfectly then less than a month it dies....wont boot, wont format. stops windows from starting when installed and i lost all the information on it...all my college work from ITT tech...gone. i most likely could have gotten far better efficiency out of any other brand but heard excellent things about seagate....but they had been incorrect.

slim 500gb quiet ุ its a seagate!! none this drive replaced a 160 gb western digital. require i say much more ? personal computer is enjoyable once more.

Ordered two drives. One worked fine; One was Dead On Arrival (DOA) One particular drive was generating a loud clicking sound, and Motherboard would not recognize it. Waiting on Newegg to RMA. There goes my absolutely free shipping. :-(

Functions Good, got scared when i did my first opening of the box casue how tiny it was, although it was a SSD but its not. Have 3 of these in a RAID , 64kb strip size, win7 pro x64 making use of the GA-MA790X-UD4P on board sata raid controller(not GSATA2). I'm getting 355-368 MB/s max read, 180-205 MB/s minimum, and 250-260 MB/s typical operating the full test of HDTune Pro (Not brief stroked either, the complete 1499gB). I didn't obtain them here or oem though, they have been boxed retail. I've had one of them for years, and two are new. btw These are typically sold in retail retailers under the ST3500641AS RK designation, but inside the package you get ST3500418AS 7200.12 CC37 Bios(not a large deal since they're wonderful drives anyway). The a single I have had for years has performed flawlessly. I was a lot more than pleased with the RAID functionality, especially because the only tweaking I did is to move the web page file onto a various drive. Not seriously positive how that affects RAID performance, but that is when I got the larger numbers.Just ordered a couple much more of these from her for my son's computer system. Im guessing i wont be disapointed Dont have four of them.As constantly YMMV Challenging to beat (or any of the very good, quick single platter 7200 rpm 500gB drives readily available these days) based on price and performance. RAID efficiency is much better than I anticipated, with no errors or difficulties so far. Performs completely and runs like a champ. Initial 1 I got was defect but RMA took care of it on the 2nd one.

Fantastic price tag for the space, if only it worked. Didn't operate, didn't come with cables (didn't feel to check if I had any) so I didn't know it didn't operate till soon after the 30 day return policy had run up. Wouldn't necessarily say Seagate brand is undesirable, my old 80 gig Seagate is just barely beginning to go after a number of years of use.

7200 RPM, no clicking noises however (I know it will happen at some point) I feel the cost must be decrease on these things by now since the SSD and 2TB are continually dropping in value. But oddly these haven't went down at all.

It was a uncomplicated plug and play. Seagate seems a bit far more dependable that WD items. This replaced a Western Digital really hard drive that was corrupt and could not load Win 7 OS.Hope it lasts. None I also purchased a WD external HD and had to replace it with a Seagate due to undesirable computer software that kept operating every single time I plug the WD HD in.

Employing this for an OS drive, seems fantastic and fast, no troubles for far. None. I had used Seagate drives in the past with very good experiences, but then I avoided them for a handful of years when I heard they were possessing some QC problems. I'm willing to continue obtaining from them again.

What else can you ask for....Excellent value, functionality, reliability.... I have none. It's a fantastic drive.... My father taught me nicely. I will often stick with Seagate. He was partial to Western Digital...Who knows why, bless his soul.

I have owned and bought a number of Seagate drives more than the years and have never had any difficulties. I only obtain Seagate and will only use Seagate goods in a cusotmers build. They are the ideal most reliable drives out there.
