Pros: -Efficient-Quiet-Cool
Comment:
I had this PSU for over 2 years before replacing it. It runs cool and quiet, still plenty of power for most systems these days. Silverstone make quality products that I would buy again and again.

I purchased this power supply based on all the reviews and user opinions I've heard over the past many months. Needless to say I am not the least bit disappointed--and I'd highly recommend this to anyone.

Pros: High quality. Low noise.

Stable voltages give me decent overclocking room without a hiccup. The build is of high quality and so are the components inside. This is my second SilverStone PSU, and I am happy with both. I will not hesitate buying from SS should I need another PSU.

Despite the investment of purchasing a gaming tower, many people overlook the importance of having a quality power supply. Don't be one of them! The Silverstone Element ST50EF is surprisingly good value, don't let the price scare you away as it worth every penny. For any Core2 or AMD system with a single high-end graphics card and multiple drives then this PSU comes highly recommended as it is more than equal to the task of running any moderate gaming computer. I have been using this PSU as my default power supply for any gaming computers I have built in the last half year and I continue to be impressed at the quality of Silverstone components.Despite the poor power and frequent brown-outs this town suffers, these power supplies take hits that lesser power supplies don't survive. I always recommend an UPS for your computer, but it is reassuring to know that this PSU can keep working flawlessly in less-than-ideal circumstances even without one.Cables are all nicely sleeved and long enough to accomodate any case I've built to date which makes organizing them quite easy.Under load and in a warm room(25°), it remains nearly silent in operation. Pros: -Good price on sale-Good cabling options-Near Silent-Good specs
Comment:
This seems like a great power supply so far. I bought it based on the good reviews and by the praise it received from NCIX's very own power supply guy, SKYMTL. It is near silent in my case; thats pretty exceptional considering my case is a darn quiet one already. It also meets all my cabling needs and then some. I can't comment a whole lot on stability, as I haven't had it for too long and I haven't put it through any particularly taxing situations. The specs are great though: great amperage on the 12v rails and active PFC. It has been rock solid stable through the few hours of Crysis I have been playing however. Cons: Only 24pin and 8pin are sleevedNot modular

Pros: Plenty of cords and plugsNear silent
Comment:
It's silent. To hear it, you have to actually try. Way better than my 50$ generic 550W PS from some computer store. Add some cash and buy a better PS, for sure. Stays fairly cool. Don't have the tools to test the specs but it runs fine.

Pros: most underrated in its category

probably the most underrated psu out there. Includes molex and sata power cables, and is ATX 2.2 compliant. Very sleek and quiet. Amazing buy - outperforms all of the psu's in its category.

Cons: No 20 pin adapter for older mobos.

Pros: Very Strong reviews, silent.
Comment:
Took the advice of Skymtl and bought this for my new rig. However my older rig's PSU (Fortron) always was loud with any type of stresses to the system and recently I'm doing lots of activity that stresses they sytem and was really getting tired of the noise.I switched out the Fortron with this Silverstone and all is silent. Even under extreme loading the PSU fan remains at a nice low rate. Thanks Skymtl ... this is an Excellent PSU and would definitely purchase again.

Cons: The long cables could be a knock off if you have a small case, and so could the lack of a 20/24 break-away cable (or even an adapter) if you have a MOBO that doesn't use a 24-pin.

Pros: Very quiet, ample supply of long cables, rock-solid, 80% efficiency, solid 12V rails.
Comment:
Silverstone doesn't fail to impress. So far it has proven to be very reliable with my OCed gaming system, and was painless to set up. Aesthetics-wise, the black finish looks good and I can't hear the fan. A good bang-for-the-buck PSU when it's on sale.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: -Super Stable-Quiet-Long cables
Comment:
After reading reviews by a forum PSU specialist (take a guess), I went with this to replace the Antec PSU that came with my Sonata II case. The rails are FAR more stable, the cables nicely sleeved and really long. Perfect for anyone looking for a solid 500w PSU, and well worth the price

Cons: 8-pin to 4-pin motherboard power connector is not sleeved.

Pros: Rock solid, tons of connectors, very long cables, and a surprisingly quiet fan.
Comment:
I would recommend this power supply to anyone who needs stable power for an overclocked midrange system. It powers my e4400 y 2.88 Ghz, an 8800gt, 5 case fans, a 965-DS3, and 2 power-hungry ATA hard drives without fail. It also seems to stay quite cool while powering everything under load, whilst maintaining stable voltages. As another bonus the cables were long enough to route around the front of my motherboard in my Antec 900 case (allowing for a reasonably neat cable layout). All in all an excellent purchase.

Pros: QuietVery very stable power
Comment:
This is an awesome and probably overlooked psu and certainly worth looking at for anyone in the market. The SATA and Molex cables may be a bit long for most, but that's the only thing bad I have to say about it and that's not really such a bad thing at all. It's able to provide power to multiple drives, 2 of which are running raid 0, a HIS 3850HD TurboX, 3.4GHz pent D and external usb equipment and at the same time it's silent and has lots of power to spare, my cpu fan makes more noise than this.HIGHLY recomended.

Cons: The 24pin mobo connector doesn't have the traditional 20/4 breakoff point, which could be an issue for some motherboards. Also is not modular.

Pros: Very quiet fan, no stability problems, good ampage on the 12v rails and comes with 2 PCI-e cables for sli.
Comment:
Powers my Core2duo, 8800 gt, 2gb ram, hd, dvd system with no problems. Probably one of the best 500watt power supplies available at the moment for its price!

Cons: Not modular and the ATA/Molex cables aren't sleeved

Pros: Very long cables, silent
Comment:
For the price, this power supply is hard to beat. You can't hear the fan at all unless you place your ear right next to it. The cables are long enough to go all the way around the back-plate of my Antec P182 case, which is great for cable management. The "drive" cables aren't sleeved, but for that kind of price/performance, that's easily forgiven.

Cons: -not modular

Pros: -solid power supply-quiet-fits well in my CM 690-2 PCI-E cables-good price
Comment:
I bought this PSU and it has turned out to be everything I have wanted it to be. It would have been nice if it was modular, but I guess that would make it more expensive. The 2 PCI-E cables will be nice since my mobo supports 2 PCI-E slots. All of the cables were long enough to reach everywhere they need to. It is nice that the mobo cable and the PCI-E cables are sleaved, especially since those are the only cables that are clearly visible in my case.4 stars only because not modular

This is a very stable PSU at 500W, has so many cords compared to my old psu that came with a case and don't need adaptors for sata power, its quiet and more then enough for my current setup.

Cons: packaging (unrelated to product tho)

Pros: p182 compatiblelong wiresbetter than sleeved wires
Comment:
OK! The wires are not sleeved but they are not just hung loose either, they are tied with cable ties and that just makes them thinner yet still tight, and better than full sleeved in my opinion. Fits perfectly in p182 case, long wires, can go all the way back behind the mobo and into the front.Love it. No weaknesses from my perspective except for the packaging...they could have added some other things it like cable ties or a case badge..now that would rock!In retrospect, I would still buy this PSU over others for what I use
