Cons: none

Pros: Very quiet , light, nice "onlight", fall asleep mode
Comment:
Purchased this after I got the 320GB because I needed more storage and still have the ability to have the drive powered from USB. Got it with the dock as well and actually looks good with my xps 8300 (black drive, white dock.) Can't go wrong for portability and storage and easy of use with power from the USB port.

Cons: No drive activity lightBigger and heavier than it could have been (but this adds stability)

Pros: Fairly fast for USB 2.0SilentUSB-powered (no AC adapter needed)About the largest capacity you can get in a 2.5" portable driveComes with Windows automatic backup software on the driveAutomatic drive encryptionVery, very solid caseNice, unobtrusive drive powered light5 year warranty
Comment:
Quite impressive! The drive benchmarked in Linux at 40 MB/s - that's 320 Mbps, about as good as you're going to get out of a USB 2.0 drive. I have another USB 2.0 drive that barely achieves 120 Mbps. It's a very sleek, solid design, just a small black brick with a small logo and a mini-USB socket on the back. It's fairly heavy for its size and I have seen smaller 2.5" portable drives - but those drives are so small and light that the flex of the USB cable will sometimes prevent them from lying flat! Not a problem with this drive. The drive power light is a pleasing white LED-powered "starfield" near the back of the drive. Quite unobtrusive. It would be nice if it flickered/pulsed like other drives to indicate drive activity though. Otherwise you have no way of knowing what the drive is doing because it's almost perfectly silent. You can't even feel much vibration through the case. The Windows automatic backup software is located on the drive and installs to your PC the first time you connect it. I haven't used this as I'm using it as a "media tank" to connect to my WD TV Live media player. It works fine for this, by the way.Seagate's site indicates this drive has 128-bit AES encryption.I haven't subjected the drive to extended use yet so I don't know how hot it gets but it remained cool throughout my use with it so far.A 5-year warranty is one of the best in the business, and an 880 GB capacity is about as big as you can currently get for a self-powered 2.5" external drive.Highly recommended!

Cons: None

Pros: Plug and play, compact, 5 year warranty
Comment:
On sale for $80 we purchased 5 of these for backup drives for out server. The price per GB ratio is great for an 880GB 2.5" hard drive. Performance is as good as any other and is large enough to probably last the 5 year warranty.

Cons: Thicker and heavier than other portable external hard drive

Pros: Big capacity, USB powered, Slick design, Docking accessory is available
Comment:
File transfer speed is good. I purchased it with the dock and case. The dock is handy and it makes the drive to sit vertically which saves some table space. I wish the dock is black though.

Cons: None yet.

Pros: Good quality, large capacity, USB powered
Comment:
Tested transfering a 10GB file and the transfer speed after the initial burst goes down is around 27 - 30 MB/S which is to be expected for a USB drive. Got it on sale for $80 so couldn't go wrong for that price.
