I bought this enclosure for some extra portable storage, and it served its purpose well. now that i no longer need a usb drive i decided to open the enclosure and take the drive out (this will void your warranty) the enclosure was certainly made to not be opened but with a little elbow grease you can pop it open and extract your drive. I wouldn't say there is anything special about this drive performance wise, but it is a nice looking enclosure.
