This was the cheapest 7200rpm really hard drive, 500gbs at the time of buy. I got this for my ps3 with three.41 firmware. None so far. Excellent for "data" on the hard drive. Transferring from internal to external I have gotten a couple of read errors, could be programing. The game play has been good, nevertheless a small wait time in places.

its low-cost it sorta functions but bugs out and freezes on me Nicely mine came with my m11x i don't know whether to blame dell or Seagate but apparently I'm forced to replace it soon after much less than a month of useI don't actually know what is wrong with it but some thing is. Didn't feel like I had to get to the bottom of it neither did dell due to the fact their replacing it for me with a WD hard drive

More quickly and much more storage than the 200 GB Hitachi that came with my MBP. Appears just as quiet and cool as prior to; when I initial used it in an external case with no fan it didn't get unusually warm. none so far. Purchased for my MBP which is used for software program improvement. I had nearly maxed out the 200GB drive that was in it and functionality was taking a massive hit. The 500GB XT was not in stock otherwise I would have purchased it alternatively.

Rapidly, didn't raise the temps significantly, performs great. It's a tiny bit louder than the stock 5400RPM drive in my Mac Mini. You can hear it operating more than the fan when every thing else in the area is silent.

Rapidly and quiet. Replaced an old 5400RPM drive that came with the laptop I bought 4 years ago. Boot time reduced by about 40%, apps loads more quickly, it almost felt like I have a new laptop. none Want Seagate's computer software didn't call for you to attach a seagate drive at launch - I had to image to an additional drive initial prior to I image it back to the Momentus. They could have just carried out detection at the recovery stage.

Quickly and cheap. Did I mention low-cost? Drive is a bit loud. I had it replace a 320gb of the similar line. This was definitely louder.

Works like a champ in my Portege M700 and Windows 7. I cloned the old drive working with Paragon difficult disk utilities with out challenges. Charlize Theron was not incorporated. To everyone who believes that gigabytes are missing; please adjust your self-described "tech understanding" rating to "below average" and attempt out this new-fangled search engine known as "Google" to get some insight into this problem. Thanks; I really feel superior now.

Can't give any pros to a drive that failed. three months into purchasing the Dell Studio, this drive starts finding wise failures. No firmware to flash to on Dell's web-site nor Seagate. Trying to recover information is a mission. I would keep away from this brand. I have had very good success with Western Digital Blacks. Just make certain you often have a backup of information.

-Doesn't interfere with the sudden movement sensor in my MB-Low cost cost per GB-37% faster than a 5400RPM drive -Noticeably far more noisy compared to my prior Momentus 7200.three-Extremely noisy compared to my very first Toshiba 5400RPM drive. When I put my laptop on my desk. The desk amplifies the hum of the HDD and is rather annoying. Will certainly be going 5400RPM or SSD for my next buy.

Value per GB is low. 500GB is a good amount of space for a laptop drive. Died within 3 months of ownership. Applied as a major drive in my Dell laptop. I've owned Seagate and WD drives just before. I've had far better results with WD drives. Initially time a challenging drive died on me in below a year of ownership. Seatools was worthless; couldn't give me an error code. Seagate's RMA approach isn't as excellent as WD. Hopefully my refurbished drive doesn't kick the can. The price might be great, but beware of purchasing a lemon.

Hard Disk Sentinel says tricky disk status is Perfect, both performance and well being are on 100%.It's speed also rather good, tends to make 100MB/sec read and create. The only sound supply in my laptop. I am waiting for it's 2 platter 1TB version...

I've had 2 Western Digital hard drives in a row fail beneath normal operating situations withing 2 months of purchasing them. But my last Seagate drive, the exact same precise model as this one, went through a fire and Still got the minimal life of the rated ten,000 hours. So, I bout a different Seagate and Extremely pleased.Payed much less than ů for three day shipping, and arrived in roughly 36 hours! Insanely quick shipping and extremely pleased with packaging quality! none Keep away from Western Digital! I literally had to sue them to get my cash back right after they kept playing stupid when I attempted to RMA the dead drives.

Functions like a charm.Very quiet drive. 7200 RPM generates far more vibration compared to 5400 RPM drive but that's expected. Nothing annoying. Fantastic drive and worthy upgrade for the price tag.
