modest physical size, quick none so far advertised as 1.5Tb but nothing at all is ever exactly as advertised. It's closer to 1.3TB. comes preloaded with 44Gb of films (which you have to purchase licenses to watch) Registering the drive would enable you one cost-free movie, but it's a hassle. delete.1 egg off for all that, but nevertheless a fantastic device (got it on sale as well)

The drive is small and compact. It stays fairly cool. The optional cables are a fantastic concept. The case is not user accessible. The case is plastic and really should be aluminum. I've had a case where the drive dismounts whilst plugged in. I've only had this drive for a handful of days. I tried utilizing the USB 3. connection initial but the speed was unbearably slow since I was utilizing USB 2.. I ordered a eSATA cable and tried this. This as well was slow but usable. I'd get about 90 MB top speed transfer.

Fantastic price for the amount of storage Slim type factor compared to comparable storage capacity three.5" external desktop drives Numerous interface possibilities with optional cables Supplied USB three. cable was extremely brief at 18" The cable I got with the 1.5TB was only 18 inches and I was unable to use a USB extension cable with the drive; The drive acts as if it's not getting enough power when using 36" or 60" extensions. Thats understandable as it's really two 750gb drives I think, but I could not uncover any power needs online or at the manufacturer website. I did not have the heat issues some of the other reviewers have noted. I transferred over 500GB of information ྴk > 1mb files & numerous 10GB+ files in 1 continuous transfer) and the drive was only slightly warm. Overall this is a fantastic drive and I will most likely get an additional to replace two smaller 2.five" HD's.

Light weight and portable. This drive runs as excellent speeds for a USB powered drive. Runs cool and quite reliable. Even in Afghanistan this drive has managed to hold its own amongst the heat and travels. It has ran for close to six months devoid of fail, no problems that other people have talked about have been observed.Comes with extremely user friendly software package for these who aren't positive specifically how to back up their documents on their personal. The ever so slight likelihood of recieving a DOA item is present. The dangers are acceptable. I have absolutely suggested this drive to close friends and family members looking for a portable and reputable HDD. As long as the user places the HDD in a ventilated area and not behind their exhaust fan everything works excellent and doesn't overheat.

Not gonna lie, this drive looks excellent. Tops out around 71MB/s at sequential writes for large files and about 17MB/s for incredibly smaller ones. backed up precisely 1TB of data in a few hours from a unrepairable, read only exFat Raid 1. not undesirable thinking about that there were thousand and thousands of files that were significantly less then 200KB in size. it is thinker then I thought it would be. but that's when I realized that this issue packs 2 drives instead of 1.two year warranty is lame. perhaps ill be moving to a 2TB external SSD by then... who knows. To steer clear of any confusion, you dont want to buy any cables. this thing is USB 3. ready appropriate out of the box. it replaced a 500GB Seagate "Freeagent GO" that was messed up. I sent it in for replacement but I'm not holding my breath. I wanted a larger drive anyway. 500GB was starting to get kinda tight since I have to generally carry about massive disk pictures with me for work. The

The highest storage I could come across in two.five. Good companion to a portable video player and pico projector. 1 out of four was DOA which is why I didn't give it five stars. Fantastic searching drive with lots of storage in a two.5 drive. I had no complications connecting to a USB 2. port on a Pc or Xtreamer Video Player. I have written more than 1TB of data and watched a number of videos w/o a issue. Only time will inform with the reliability. Invest the time and do a compose test as a 1 in four failure rate is a bit disconcerting.

I purchased this one particular sale so I got a truly very good deal. I really like that it is two.5 so it is extremely portable. It also can be used with USB three. so I essentially have something now I can plug into my comps USB three. ports. Operates really excellent. I don't genuinely want to call this a con, but when I purchased this, it was advertised as giving you a totally free movie (Startrek) and that is good but I felt like you had to do as well substantially in order to get the movie download. Blah, went ahead and did it all anyway.

Modest and powered by USB. Highly portable. OS X recognized the drive appropriate away and I was able to format as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), but right after copying files to it for a few minutes I got a warning about "The disk was not ejected correctly...". This occurred over and over, the drive kept disconnecting itself. A quick google search reveals that several OS X users are obtaining this exact same situation with Seagate GoFlex drives. I opened a assistance case with Seagate, they admitted the issue exists and could only suggest that I set up a third-celebration utility that pings the drive just about every minute to stop it from spinning-down. This is unacceptable for a Time Machine drive that I require to rely on to be in a position to restore my technique if anything had been to come about. See Seagate's support forums for oneself. Lesson learned, Mac Compatible doesn't constantly mean it will perform with a mac. I'll do far better investigation next time.

Slick design, single cable. Pretty slow - the benchmark shows only two to 3 instances quicker than a related Seagate USB 2. drive. Quite unreliable - after a single week of use started showing all the files as "read only"; couple of days later - died totally. None

Little, can switch connection type (USB3, USB2, EsataP, Firewire). Free of charge star trek movie, if you register. Price is not negative if you contemplate two 750GB two.5" drives to this. I have copied 1.2TB on this with no complications and use it with a NEC USB 3. controller card on my Win7x64 Computer. May possibly appear slow compared to three.five" Drives, but for a two.5" 5400 RPM drive not negative. Top quality of video is low for a file that will take two.5GB Genuinely like the design of goFlex drives. Wish all organizations would standardize on something like this, so as requirements transform (lightPeak) you don't have to purchase new enclosures, just a distinct cable.

-1.5 TB in a two.5 inch enclosure, (nothing today can't beat this capacity density)-It's a fantastic deal for the value (little bit higher than USB three., 3.5 inch drives)-Really comes with USB 3.ǘ. adapter and is upgradeable to Firewire 800 for greater speeds, although I doubt everyone will need to soon after USB three.. -5400 RPM, but come on, it's two.5 inch and it's blazing quick on USB 3.. It essentially feels heavier then other 2.five inch drives I have, so a metal enclosure would be much better, due to the fact no one can genuinely afford to drop and shed 1.five TB data. Nevertheless, the all round style appears sturdy. The HDD comes with 45 gigs of DRM movies, which you have to acquire to play, so you may want to do a fresh format when you get the drive to appreciate some much more capacity.

Extremely modest footprint for 1.five TB. USB three. is fast, and the transfer rates on this drive are genuinely very good, taking into consideration it's only two.five" and 5400 RPM. Plugged it in and it worked. Nothing that is the drives fault. I won this drive on some drawing so I got it for free of charge. I was going to purchase something equivalent anyway since I needed additional space for backups. Dilemma - I am employing VMWare server 2..two on top rated of Windows 7 Pro. I want to pass this USB drive by means of to the VM, so the guest OS sees it. My MOBO has USB 3. ports, and the host OS sees it fine, but the guest (server 2003) will not recognize it if I pass it by means of. I consider it's a limitation of USB three. on VMWare, Server 2003, or each. If I plug it into a USB two. port, the pass via performs fine, and the backup window is really a couple of minutes shorter than my Seagate 7200 RPM three.five" drive. So I truly can't complain about the drive, especially because it was totally free.

- Consists of the USB three. adapter- Rapidly- Biggest 2.5" drive readily available None! I removed the drive and utilised it in a laptop or computer. It's slightly thicker than even the 1TB drives. And it has an odd behaviour of throwing a error exit code with parted that demands a reboot for recognition of the new partition. But other than that it's smooth sailing
