Affordable Storage Not sturdy at all. I used this rather a bit and the speeds have been alright, but following 2 months of use it slid from my couch to the carpet (about 10 inches) and refused to work again. Actually disappointed, and lost a lot of perform. Won't purchase seagate once more. |

USB 3. capable but nonetheless performs in USB 1.ǘ. ports. Even though it does appear fantastic I am taking off one particular star for the smooth piano black finish which is prone to attracting fingerprints. On a monitor or the three.5 inch version this might be ok but on a mobile device that is often handled a matte finish would be in my opinion be far better. Good product and I appreciate that it has the capability to operate with any USB port including USB three. when I ever come across a personal computer with it. |

I don't have this item, but I felt this item received an unfair rating just simply because folks who are rating don't have the technical background to rate it. Fail critiques... You can't give a product a poor rating simply because YOUR laptop does not have external SATA interface or the paint is "ugly" or attracts fingerprints... lol. NOT possessing external SATA (or eSATA) is YOUR fault, not the items'. Not understanding what it is is YOUR fault. Not having USB 3. is YOUR fault. These are interfaces that some folks have ahead of purchasing a product, or, prepares their system to have these interfaces, then purchasing this product. Not "liking" piano black is YOUR fault. You currently KNOW the product is polished piano black, it's in the description. |

Cons: price of extra adapters.
Pros: small, light, USB 3.0 (& backwards compatible), goflex changeable adapters, runs on just the USB power Comment:
Best feature is the changeable adapter (optional firewire, esata). I have an older USB2.0 model so if needed can use this USB 3.0 adapter for that if transferring large files. Memeo software was not the greatest with my other older unit - appears to be same software with this drive. |

Order came in 3 days, box was not damaged. I do not have an USB3. enabled machine. Utilized the GoFlex drive to backup a Vista machine. Finished in about 23 minutes; older usbHD took practically an hour. The files are heavy on .raw photosྮgs both instances. I have employed everything in the order, they are as advertised. The only con is to me a pros - usb powered functions nicely for me and makes the unit easier to carry. This is my third Seagate and I have two WDs. I usually format fat32 so I can use them with Ubuntu linux also. |

This portable hard drive has a really nice feature, it allows you to change the usb adapter and upgrade to usb 3.0. You can also use the adapter on a bare 2.5 inch hard drive, which is pretty neat. |

Compatible with several interface formats; USB two, 3, Sata and Firewire (for whoever makes use of that)Whisper quiet, modest (slightly wider than my iPhone), light weight, Seagate warranty The "Flexibility" is a good choice, but seriously, if want a "modular" external device, the Sata is fairly worthless. There's a SATA to USB adapter that plugs into the back which exposes the Sata ports. My largest concern is I don't have Sata headers on the back of my Computer, they're all inside so I have to run not only a Sata cable but also a POWER cable to the device from inside my case. Not quite practical. Not only that, the molding on the Sata cable is as well thick to fit in the adapter slot. I had to use a razor and cut the molding a couple mils thinner- and this is an currently thin cable, not 1 with the retainer clip. Type of a weird setup. So unless you've already got a USB 3. compatible mobo don't expect speeds greater than 2. devoid of a bunch of fuss... oh and try not to loose that adapter if you determine to plug in sata Still not a undesirable device. 4 out of five only because of the sata plug I had to cut and I nonetheless ended up utilizing USB due to simplicity. |

Works excellent, a bit additional than 2x as rapid on USB three. than on 2. nice for operating backups. For some reason, the way it's configured tends to make Windows 7 think you want administrator authority to delete things from it - but you can constantly just delete and recreate the partition if you want. |
Sleek. Worked appropriate out of the box. Warranty info on Newegg states five years restricted. It only states two years restricted on the packaging.
