With the Seagate® Backup Plus hard drive you get a 2 terabyte hard drive capacity in a beautiful portable design. Made from durable metal, the drive easily slides into your pocket, purse or briefcase to take with you. The Protect feature isn't the only attribute that will attempt to ensure your files are never lost again. With the Save feature even your social media networks could be back up. The Seagate Dashboard would automatically save any content posted, even photos that you are tagged in, so accidentally deleting a photo from your mobile device might not be a problem. This is my first backup drive after I figured that I was probably tempting fate after not backing up anything at all. I have had one drive fail in the past 15 years and another one lose a number of sectors and non-critical data about 4 years ago. Seeing as how I am probably past due for a catastrophic failure sometime in the next 2 or 3 years, it was time for a backup drive. This one fit the bill perfectly in that it is very fast, includes simple and lightweight backup software, is relatively attractive, and has the capacity to allow me to backup anything that I want. I have only chosen to back up personal files (including some held on DropBox), so there is plenty of space leftover if I want to use the rest of the space for storage or moving files around physically. I upgraded my ancient system with a USB 3.0 PCI-E card to enable the super fast transfer speeds.
