*Cheap*Low profile*Comes with SATA cable Documentation is terrible:*No mention that you want to use a floppy drive energy connector to power the board. I barely remember what they appear like.*Insists that drive need to be on "Master" setting, but my DVD drive wouldn't function on master and boot up would freeze on IDE detection. I removed the jumper altogether and that made it operate. Powered by floppy drive energy connector from energy provide. Fiddle with drive jumper settings if you can't get it to operate.

Takes about five minutes to set up. Quite much plug and play. Does what it's supposed to. Nonetheless going strong. None.

Cheap, includes 19" SATA wire, tiny, simple set up. The only con and the cause for four eggs not five, is that the 4 pin molex connector included with the board (this supplies power to the device circuit board) uses female pins, when every connector on a PSU also makes use of female pins. If you are installing much more than one particular of these adapters (for example if you're using 2 IDE drives) and you have currently applied the 1 mini, four-pin connector (FDD Power) from your PSU for the first drive, most men and women will have to obtain an adapter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186077&cm_reɦ_pin_molex_male_to_male-_-12-186-077-_-Productto convert the PSU's female connector to a male and a FDD power plug for the drive and the board power provide. It works.

Functions with dvd+rw comes with a incorrect power adapter dvdrw set to cable pick performs fine. Needs a female modex to male molex + mini molex adapter. Included adapter is incorrect and has only two male ends. If your posu has mini-molex (floppy drive) plugs then you don't require to worry about this.

Just what I was searching for. Had two old IDE I wanted to use on a virtual machine server and two of these did the trick. And were delivered very quite fast as always. I simply don't understand why the cable connector couldn't have been created into a Y-Split connection. I had to cut off two molex ends and manufacture my own Y-Split connections for these babies to get power and the HDD too. I don't advise the average Joe to try what I did, you could harm your equipment.

Low-cost and easy. Operates with some drives. Fortunately I had a handful of to chose from.

Does what it is supposed to none To these complaining about the molex becoming the "wrong gender" It is frequent to use a floppy energy plug on these adapters, it is due to the nature of the power cables coming off of the energy provide. The ends are often terminated in a floppy plug, off of a common hdd plug. This it to allow you to use the finish plug at max length with out tying up a second line or requiring an adapter. It is this way by design, and is properly thought out from that standpoint.

OK. It's slow although. But at least I have access to the drive on a fully SATA MB! Red LED. Seriously vibrant. Do they really want an LED? If the adapter functions, then it's got power!

Operates well converting a PATA drive to run on a SATA motherboard. Value is a superior point also. WHO believed up the power connector?? The molex plug is the incorrect gender!!! Very good thing my power supply had an additional floppy power connector that I could use.

Plug-and-play. It does what it's supposed to. Included power adapter is incorrect - both ends ought to be female. If your pwr supply has mini-molex (i.e. floppy drive) connectors, just use one of those. HDD connected to this device needs to be set to master. Cable-pick didnt' function.

It functions for my IDE difficult drive. My tough drive serves as a file server and there had been not any errors for almost 1 month. It does not function with my DVD R/W drives. I've tried numerous DVD R/W drives. None of them works with this converter.

Converts PATA devices to SATA, precisely what I required. Works just fine. The Red light seems a little unnecessary.

Can\'t say if there is any pro's. Does not working with Motherboard IDE Controller. Manufacturer Response:Dear Client, Thank you for buying our Syba products. We are sorry to hear that the product has stopped functioning as it must be. This item was not design to work with the onboard IDE. It can only function with IDE challenging drives. If you want a device that converts IDE to SATA I would suggest SY-BIR-IDESA. Here is the link for that item: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186032&Tpk=sy-bir-idesa. I would like to point out that we can also problem RMA returns. We usually try to supply the most reliable merchandise to our clients and all items come with at least 3-year warranty. So please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at support@sybausa.com for replacement or question. Regards, Syba Consumer Service KN 101310

None other than kudos to Newegg for acquiring it out to me promptly. Destroyed my 500gig hard drive and every thing on it. This is a follow up to previous assessment. I just verified that yes, this little device is the culprit. Lost the difficult drive itself, but much more damaging was the loss of information. Sickening.

Worked for 1 boot. My brand new DFI is throwing out disk read errors on boot ever because the first reset, regardless of this becoming plugged in or not. Now I'm RMAing my MB and have to sit out even longer to get my computer going. Gave 2 eggs mainly because I can't be specific if this caused my difficulty or not, but it's very easily the cheapest/weakest link in my setup.

None! Item didn't function. It would expense me a lot more to send it back than what I paid for it. Documentation is terrible. Web page support non-existent unless you want to play e-mail tag. Molex connector really should be male on the included energy adapter. Luckily had a floppy energy line readily available - nonetheless no luck. Never will use this company's merchandise once more - fool me when shame on you etc. I will order another adapter from Newegg. I have learned my lesson. If I could give it zero eggs I would.
