Not much to say, bought it with my computer components. Was one of the best a little over a year ago, and is still working great today. No complaints.

Cons: Fan can get loudHumongous

Pros: Elite cooling
Comment:
This thing is enormous! Biggest HSF I've used in my life. But the cooling job it does is just as immense. My Q9550 o/c to 3.8Ghz runs at 31 degrees idle and only 53 degrees load, which is not too shabby. I have a ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe motherboard and the northbridge cooler gets in the way a bit but there doesn't seem to be a problems with that. The con is, if you crank the fan past about halfway, it'll sound like a vacuum cleaner. This review was modfied by poster @ 10-17-08 03:25 PM

This is a fantastic cooler. Installation is a pain as you have to take your machine apart but is straight forward otherwise and is very much worth it for the great drop  in temps.Solid product and highly recommended.

Cons: Big, Heavy

Pros: Cools very well, Base was smooth, Cheaper than a 120
Comment:
This heatsink was extremely effective at reducing temperatures and did it's job. Compared to an Intel stock cooler, the temperature dropped about 12 degrees Celsius on an overclocked Q9450.

Cons: Noise of fans

Pros: Powerful at cooling, fan speed control
Comment:
This is a great cooler but really only needed if you are doing a lot of serious overclocking. It is large but had no issues fitting in my case. The variable fan control is great as otherwise the fan noise can be quite loud at times.

Cons: You can cut yourself on the sharp metal edges.Very heavy.

Pros: Awsome cooling tower.Bolt thru mounting for security.Cross system compatibility.
Comment:
One of the best coolers ever made. The tuniq tower is to be on your short list of heatsinks for sure. The mounting mechanisim is so versitile that you could go to the hardware store and get brackets to fit over any socket with holes.I equipped my tunic tower with two additional fans and the aleady good cooling improvd by another 5-10c degrees depending on the processor load.

Cons: Can't plug into 4 pin MOBO CPU_FAN point as it only comes with a 3 pin plug. Can be too big for some cases (this thing is huge people)

Pros: Keeps CPU running very coolQuietIncludes manual fan control which is nice
Comment:
Paired this with my Gigabyte P35-DS3R ATX MOBO and put into a CoolerMaster CM-690 case.As everyone else has said. This thing is huge. Looking down on the MOBO when this is installed and you can't see almost 1/3 of the board because of the heat sync. Installation can be tricky especially on an AMD board. But using the supplied directions I didn't have too much trouble (note, fairly amateur here)The results are quite impressive. For the most part except when under heavy load the processor is actually cooler than the case. And even under full load, the highest temp I have hit is a mere 38 degrees celcius.Because of the size this cooler is not for everyone, I would still highly recommend it.

Pros: Great performanceReasonably quiet
Comment:
To echo what everyone else is saying - this cooler rocks in the performance category. I have yet to read a negative review on them. If you have limited case room or dislike slamming a pound of metal on a processor you will want to look elsewhere.

E6600u3.2 runs idle/26 degrees, 38/load, solid run now for 5 months never turned off. Fan a bit noisy at high speed. Very effective. Best cooler for your buck. If you can't afford watercool this is your next best option.

Cons: very large. heavy, bad instructions

Pros: Super cooling, looks rad
Comment:
so i bought this to cool my Q6600 at 3.0 Ghz. before with the stock cooler it got around 45 degrees(oced idle) and now it gets around 31 degrees at idle and load temps hardly increase at all. this is all with the fan at lowest speed(very quiet) overall this is a great cooler and in the antec 900 it fits fine. I was worried about the wieght hanging off the MB so i Unscrewed partway the fan screws on the top and ziptied them to the edge of the case. very solid now.

Pros: silent, extremely efficient, looks nice
Comment:
Very satisfied with this heatsink, installed it on an 'old' p4 3.4 ghz and it runs around 26 celsius on idle, the highest temps I've seen so far with the fan at the slowest speed is 36 celsius while playing a 1080p . I had a coolermaster jet 4 before and the cpu ran at 50 celsius most of the time.. Very recommended !!!

Cons: - Big and heavy- Base not smooth (needs to be lapped)- Included fan gets noisy at low speeds after a few months

Pros: - Very effective cooler for overclocked Q6600 (3.6 GHz)- Variable speed fan allows you to choose noise/cooling ratio
Comment:
Overall, the Tuniq Tower works as advertised and has proved to be an effective cooler for my 3.6GHz overclocked Q6600 (G0 stepping - SLACR). I have idle temps of about 38 degrees (reported by Core Temp) and load temps of about 65 degrees. I have an Antec P180 case with decent airflow through the system. The variable speed fan was at first a nice and unique feature. It allows you to control how much noise you're comfortable with versus how much cooling you need. However, after 4 months of use, the fan has become far too noisy (which I'll grant is a subjective judgement), even at it's lowest speed setting. I replaced the included fan with a Nexus fan, and my machine is once again nice and quiet, though I've lost the ability to control the fan speed.Overall, the Tuniq works well and is satisfactory. However, I think the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme with a quiet third-party fan may be a better choice, though I have no personal experience and at the time of this writing is more than $20 more expensive and does not include a fan.

Pros: Great cooling and design. Also, good price for a high end cooling heatsink.
Comment:
I just installed the Tuniq tower 120 with Arctic silver 5 and it dropped my cpu temps dramatically. It's a cooling beast. If you want to see your temps drop, I highly recommend this product. Also, NCIX provides great service and fast delivery.

Pros: works VERY well, doesn't feel nearly as heavy as it looks.

this sucker keeps my quad core q6600 G0 below 50 celsius when gaming for a long session. i haven't tried maxing all the cores with prime 95 or anything but i'm very happy with the results i've gotten so far. my day to day temps with internet and tv running (cpu usage 5-10%) are between 33 and 40 depending on core.

Cons: Difficult to install, for a novicePoor instructions

Pros: One of the best air coolers availableVery well-supported, once installed
Comment:
As someone who's never installed an aftermarket heatsink before, I felt that the Tuniq Tower could have been made a bit easier to work with. The included instructions are vague and include unhelpful pictures. Also, if you want to place it straight down on the processor and then not move it (as recommended by the AS5 instructions), it's very difficult to get it into the correct position -- you can't tell if you've done it right until after it's seated. On the positive side, though, it seems like it would be difficult to install the Tuniq Tower incorrectly. So, while you may find the installation process frustrating, when you finally get it finished you won't be worried that you've done it wrong. Also, I had been worried about all that weight hanging of my motherboard, but once I got it assembled, its stability was very reassuring. It looks pretty implausible, but the backplate setup really does hold this quite firmly in place. In all, I would strongly recommend the Tuniq Tower. However, if you've never installed an aftermarket heatsink before, be prepared for a somewhat frustrating installation process.

Cons: Mounting takes a little bit more than usual

Pros: Cooling power
Comment:
I bought it to replace my arctic cooling freezer 64 pro, it brought my temps down about 5 - 10 deg at full load. This is with the fan on high, and it screams pretty loud. not much louder than my 8800 gts on 100% fan. it cools well at about 1800 rpm and is almost not audible

Cons: weight

Pros: easy to install
Comment:
I've been looking for a heatsink that could handle a bit of overclocking. I read a few reviews and decided on the Tuniq Tower120. I had no trouble installing the heatsink, except for the poorly written instructions. It comes with some extra pieces to accomodate installation on a few different boards.Once I figured out which backing plate I needed to use (simply by holding them up to the mobo and deciding which one looked right), I stuck it on there, and then applied the included thermal paste. I placed the heatsink on the cpu and put the H-plate on... and used the thumbscrews to clamp it to the board.I plugged the fans in, and then re-installed all of my system components. It booted up first time, and immediately was 10 degrees cooler than my previous heatsinks ambient temp. of 43I'm quite please, and would buy this heatsink again.

Cons: Massive size/weight, max fan speed is somewhat noisy

Pros: Excellent performance, externally controllable fan
Comment:
Running a Q6600 (B3 stepping) at 3Ghz. Could go quite a bit higher but limited by motherboard. With fan is running at half speed idle temps are ~30/34, load on 4 cores is ~54/60.I was able to mount the heat sink after the motherboard was in place but just barely. This really should be mounted while the motherboard is outside the case. I also found the fins on this to be delicate so it has to be handled somewhat carefully.I would definately recommend this heat sink; at least until an equivalent smaller alternative becomes available...

I am cooling a Q6600 on Abit Ip35 Pro. With a moderate overclock to 3000mhz, my chip is showing temps of 45-50 C on 4 loaded cores - in a closed case. Exceptional performance for an air cooler!

Cons: -its a tight squeeze

Pros: -looks like a cylinder head for a small motor cycle (this is a good thing)-without the fan it will still cool a CPU off passivly
Comment:
the Tuniq Tower is a great heat sink. I just about burst out laughing when I saw the temps that my CPU was running at (27-30*C once at idle, 37-42*C under load, C2D E6750). It wasn't easy getting it in to the case, but setting the board up with the back piece wasn't too hard. I am always vaguely worried that if somthing goes wrong that its going to fall and crack my board but that goes with the territory I guess. I haven't hooked up the rheostat yet but I may in a while.

Cons: Size (this thing is huge), Weight (>2lbs), Rheostat only (doesn't have 4 pin [i.e PWM connector]), rough surface on CPU plate (should be polished to a smooth finish).

Pros: Outstanding cooling ability, quietness, strength of retention mechanism, somehow directs cooling air over the NB/voltage heatpipe cooling fins!
Comment:
Has cooled to my QX6700 Extreme which is overclocked to 3.4Ghz to 14C idle from 44C idle which used the stock heatsink/fan using the ASUS PCProbeII (yes I know the ASUS PCProbeII isn't accurate, however the decrease in temperature was phenomenal). This is the first cooler that I found to allow a completely stable overclock. Definitely recommended. One bit of advice - get the specs and measure your clearance area and height twice. This is a massive heatsink. If you can bolt the heatsink to the motherboard while the board is out of the case - you can get a more accurate/tight fit. It is hard to turn the thumbscrews while the m/b is in the case, especially if you have large volt/reg/NB coolers around the CPU socket area. This review was modfied by poster @ 07-30-07 10:58 PM
