Cons: Driver software is clunky * larger antennae would have been nice

Pros: Fast * stable wifi connectivity * fairly discrete in the PC build
Comment:
Just an all-around solid WiFi PCI-e card, not much more to say really. I'd suggest against installing any driver software from the CD, just let Windows install the barebone drivers for it to work, and forget about it.

Cons: Did not work with Windows XP with VIA chipset.

Pros: Works fine with Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Comment:
I got this to upgrade an old 802.11b/g card to work with 802.11n wireless.I could not get it to work in an older Windows XP computer. I contacted Trendnet technical support and after trying a few things they offered me an RMA. I didn't go for this since it worked fine in my other computer that had Windows Vista installed. I suspected that there may have been a driver problem or a compatibility problem with the motherboard chipset (VIA PT880).

Cons: ~Could be faster

Pros: ~Fast~Large range~Easy setup
Comment:
I got this on sale and I'm pretty happy with it so far. I'm not sure why some people are having so much trouble setting this up. I installed this without following the instructions (by accident) and it works fine (on my windows 7 x64). The only problem might be that the windows will not automatically connect to it when you logon but that is easily fixed by creating a profile in the utility/driver that was included in the CD.

Cons: none in any way

Pros: FAST! FAST! FAST! easy to install. Very inexpensive, especially on sale.
Comment:
This card is VERY good. It is extremely fast, with an incredibly noticable improvement over the DLINK Rangebooster G USB I have been using before it.I have been impressed with Trendnet since my first purchase of the mini USB network adapter about a year ago that was unfortunately smashed accidentally. I will certainly buy this brand in the future as my now preference. This card ROCKS!

Cons: ConnectionDoesn't auto connect to network

Pros: PriceEasy to install
Comment:
For the price that I got this (15$) this was a pretty good buy. Installation was easy and it was generally a good experience. The actual performance was a bit less than I hoped for. For some reason, I only get 4 bars when I am in the same room as the router. Another problem was that when I reboot or let it go into sleep mode, it wouldn't auto connect to the network. A few problems but I can live with them, after all, it was only 15$.

Cons: Dropping connectionsWon't auto connect to the network that I set it toAbysmal speed

Pros: NoneReally NoneAbsolutely None
Comment:
I have a laptop in the same room as the desktop that I've installed this Trendnet product on. The speed of this card is absolutely disgusting comparing to the connection on my laptop.Furthermore, upon bootup, it would not auto connect to the network that I set it to, and even though the connection is abysmal, it constantly shows "good" or "excellent" connections with 4-5 bars. But on my laptop, I only get 2 bars. (and the speed on my laptop is still better than the one on the desktop)Overall, I was very disappointed, now I am stuck with a barely working card and 20 bucks gone, which I heavily doubt is worth my money.I am running both laptop and desktop on Wireless G.This was a present from a friend, so I cannot provide the product ID, so I HAVE to give it 3 stars. Or else it would be -2 stars.

Cons: Not as fast as expected

Pros: inexpensive, easy installation, stable under high-demand use, clean wireless client utility.
Comment:
I upgraded from a Wireless B card that was still working but now way too slow. I have all my other computers on Wireless G, so was expecting this Wireless N card to really rock compared to both B and G. It is vastly faster, with a strong signal, but did not blow me away. Example:Wireless B - Transfer rate via a Wireless N router to a hard-wired PC: 350mb file: 14 minutes.Wireless N - Transfer rate (this card): 6 minutes.Much better, but not shockingly so. I would definitely recommend this card, however, for these reasons:- super easy WinXP install.- clear docs and easy to use client.- 40% signal strength with "B" card now 95% strength with this card. Much better distance. - Unbeatable price.

Cons: - Drops connections hourly- Slow transfer rate ranging from 29-58MB/s

Pros: rangecheap
Comment:
- Went from a D-Link wireless G PCI to this. Good price but not worth it: tested it for a week and average transfer rate is worst than my old wireless G (only 29-58MB/s). Can't view videos online without constant cutoff. Ping is also an issue as well. The only upside about it is the range.

I bought this litte jewel to use in a PC in my front bedroom on an XP computer. Seemed to be a little tough to setup at first but after reading the directions installing software first, then adapter - things improved. Won't setup through the Win XP - create your own network wizard & relies upon it's own software exclusively. I'm getting 78 MBPS which isn't much better than my old ''g'' adapter, but I use this mainly to work on xtra PCs to get on the net with & get some downloads etc.. Not bad for the price but I like the D-Link DWA-160 alot better just because it's faster & easier to setup. DWA -160 is streaming at 130 MBPS on another desktop and costs about the same on eBay.. In short, the Trendnet 643PL is nice to have but the D-Link is really a better product to support ''N'' networks.

Purchased this for X-P about a week ago. Has not dropped the connection (but then I don't play internet games). I was using a U-S-B D-Link card which had poor range and kept dropping the connection. X-P rated the signal strength of the D-Link U-S-B card as good, but the T-r-e-n-d-net P-C-I card as Very Good.

Not worth the effort. Been trying for about 2 weeks to get this working and no luck. Opened a help desk to try and get help, but was only asked to do what I had already done. Im running 64 bit vista. Maybe i have connection about a good hour at a time. Just spend the 12 bux online and get a long ethernet cable and hardwire it. This adpater is the worst part of my newly built pc.

This card says that it's compatible with Vista, right? Well, it turns out that there are problems with the Vista 64-bit edition that they failed to mention! On 32-bit this card runs fine, but keep it away from your 64-bit machine, unless you like it when your computer freeezes while you surf the net. Bottom line, they need to update there drivers. There newest driver is 2 YEARDS OLD!
