Cons: WiFi and GPS don't work either well or at all. For me its totally useless with out GPS.

I bought this Prime more so because of the hype surrounding it; but at the end of the day, it's OK; not the end all tablet it is hailed to be. All of my other devices capture wi-fi quicker than this tablet; internet browsing is not as quick as my android phone, my $60.00 china tablet or my laptop, so I am seriously disappointed from that point.I'm not a gamer, so I have nothing to offer on that subject. This tablet was meant to be an extension of my work resources.At the end of the day, it's OK. Battery life, size and the fact that it does not overheat make it a little more attractive, but I don't think it to be an overly superior product. |

I'm very pleased with my first impression of NCIX, I ordered 1 Asus TF 201 Transformer Prime 64 Gb ICS Upgradeable and 1 TF 201 Dock, Yesterday March 7th 2012They both arrived this morning at 11:00 AM E.S.T. Cons: Screen will break if dropped from 3 feet and lands on corner

Well I am sad today, I slipped on some ice coming into to the office to show off my new tablet I got on Friday. needless to say it got away from me and form 3 feet it hit the pavement on the corner. the left side of the glass is stattered and the shell has some nik's and scrapes. the unit still works fine but the glass is sharp. I ended up ordering another today to replace this one. A shame that I dont think the warranty covers a fall. I do recommed this tablet it was alot better then my xoom and Galaxy. Wish it came with a protective case it may have survived. |

I have had this tablet for a little under a week now and am very impressed. Everything from voice search to just surfing the web is fast, accurate and easy. The obvious draw back are the WiFi performance and the GPS (or lack there of); I not to unhappy about the GPS b/c I was pretty sure it wasn't going to work given Anandtech.com's, so for me that's not big deal. I was worried about the WiFi performance and to be honest still am. I didn't some distance checks in my condo building; it performed better than I expected, however, right in my condo (roughly 10 - 15 feet from my router) I never have full bars. Having said that the internet is still fast and responsive. I'm in love with this thing. It was always a toss up between a laptop and a tablet; since I knew it was only going to be for content consumption (very little creation) this works perfectly. Will probably pick up the keyboard in the future. If you are on the fence - BUY IT you won't be sorry. |

from day one I got this tablet...I just can't live without it anymore.....just love it!! very light...almost like an iPad2. after setting up the wifi connection, an update notice to upgrade the device to the latest Android version. The screen looks very sharp. Playing 1080p movie very smoothly and present no lag at all. Also, I'm quite satisfy about the battery life on this device. It takes about 1hr or less to charge about 20%. Used about 2% during ~8hr under sleep mode. So far everything works as expected. Good quality build. Originally it had problem to find my BT headset, but after I turn off the wifi, it could detect without problem. After that it always find my BT headset no matter wifi on or off. |
First I have waited since Decemeber to get one; due to issues and back orders; finally I waited for these things to resolve themselves and order one. Got mine March 28, its going back April 2. The GPS does not work, at all, and the WiFi is weak. in doing the research to try and solve the issue I discovered the unit is fatally flawed and should never have gone to market. Just Google Prime GPS ISSUE. The aluminum case on the back prevents the GPS and WiFi from working; I also read of many returns due to a poor connection to the antennas. for me this is a big deal. I also discovered that instead of taking care of the issue and help people that have bought one of these, ASUS answer is to remove mention of the GPS from their website, and re-release a new prime version (701)coming out this spring that has a new back. ASUS is now trying to clear out the junk to save as much as they can from their losses on this major blunder. It should have never gone to market! NCIX should know better than to even sell these. And unless I give this three stars it wont be posted.
