Cons: The inherit weakness with this product is, while it does allow you to "Write" on the screen, it is still a laptop screen not a tablet so it wobbles. (I haven't attached the magnet because I am currently looking for a new laptop and want to save the magnet for that one....i doubt the sticky-ness would hold, but i taped the unit temporarily to the screen to test it)It uses ultrasonic pulses (I can't see where the Infrared comes in....maybe the mouse buttons, I don't know) so if there is anything nearby that emits sounds at a similar frequency (Vacuums with metallic noises, Ultrasonic Rodent Repellers, etc) some accuracy is lost and it can suddenly jerk, screwing up a letter or line you were just trying to draw.

Pros: - It does what it says it does, you can essentially control the mouse with a pen. - It is actually very accurate towards the middle of the screen and the pen tips work quite well. - The two buttons on the pen are a little hard to find sometimes, but they do work and are a nice touch.- The pen is somewhat balanced, it does take some getting used to, but over all it seems well built (can't say how long the tip will last though)- I haven't actually attached the unit with the supplied magnet, for reason which i will be getting into soon. - The on desk mode (paper, etc) works very well (the redeeming feature in my opinion) with the exception that it only lists metric paper sizes (A4, A5, etc) and it reacts to a widescreen on the paper in a way i am not too sure.
Comment:
While achieving what I was hoping to get from this, a way to take notes digitally, certain things about this system hold me back from giving it more than an above average rating.1) I am scared to damage the LCD (not scratch so much as the pressure) and the wobbling kind of ruins the effort)2) I find that I prefer writing on a piece of paper with a self made calibration pattern (from screen shots of the programmed calibration) in a plastic sleeve on the desk than actually on the screen.3) While it does let you draw and the like, I still use XP on one of my computers and I can say, the included software just isn't up to snuff in terms of note taking and the like.I have yet to try it on Win7, but I do assume it would be improved.4) Where are these supported games they were advertising?...i haven't found any.So now that I am past the novelty period, i can say that for its regular price of 99$, it is not worth it in my opinion. But if you can get it on sale for anything less than 60ish (like I did 49-20MIR), I highly recommend it if you might ever need to take notes or doodles on your computer (but don't need a full out tablet pad).

Cons: Uses small disposable button cells

Pros: Very Compact, unobtrusive
Comment:
Got it on sale, so it's not too expensive to play with. It is a nice way to more directly interact on the screen to handle files just like with a pen on paper. So far it seems to be one of he few ways to add hand writing function to any computer. It seems to work on a 22 inch monitor, although not as accurately as hoped. This may be partially due to the noise level in the computer room. Can't help wondering how long those button cells will last with regular use.

Cons: a little training, to know how to use the pen

Pros: easy to install, work out of the boxeasy to move from one computer to another

Note: yan_s is not Yan_S (for the other review)the cd that i receive is version 1.1, you can found the 1.21 (95Mo) on the hantech site..they says that the system work only for 15" screen or less, but the drivers accept to be configured for a 25" screen (you choose on a menu the size of your screen)..this can work on a CRT screen (tested) but you need to remove the magnet from the sensor (crt hate magnet..) and you need a near flat crt screen.. it's not as practical as on a LCD screen , but it work (tested with succes on a 19" crt screen witout problem)..it work best with the sensor on the side for large screen (instead of putting it on the top of the screen)this is a very good system to put a "touch system" on a computer without one.. i transformed a laptop in a "tablet pc" system in a minute.. Cons: looses accuracy at screen edges.

Pros: Easy to setup and use.
Comment:
This works well on a 15" laptop, accuracy and response is very good.OS Support:OSX:Does not work out of box with OSX (snow leopard). It is detected but for some reason unless you move it very fast, it thinks you are holding the left mouse button constantly. This makes it unusable in OSX.XP:With the supplied CD (downloadable from their site as well) everything worked great. I was able to calibrate it on a 15"laptop and play around with the ink application.Windows 7:No need to install drivers, works out of box. May take a bit of configuring the pen so it works as desired, but you do not need to install any additional software. The only issue I had while testing it on windows 7 was due to my laptop screen being 17".Linux: I have not tried it with linux so I am not sure if it works or not. The manufacturer does not provide linux drivers. In terms of accuracy, the pen seems to be most accurate in the centre of the screen. As you go out towards the corners it becomes slightly less accurate. It works great on a 15" laptop, but on my 17" laptop It was not able to pickup the edges of the screen. The neat thing about this product, is that you can place it on a table and use it as a notepad. I tested it with the Math Equation program which comes with windows 7 (in accessories folder). It worked very well. So even if you have a larger lcd, it may be useful for writing instead of buying a tablet. It comes with a lot of extra stuff (in my opinion). Mine came with 4 extra felt tips and 3 extra metal tips. I have not yet sued the metal tips, but the felt tips work well on both paper, and a laptop screen. It attaches to you laptop via magnet. It comes with a metal rectangle that you stick to your laptop case (double sided tape, comes with extra tape as well). This way the actual unit is removable while carrying your computer. If you are using it as a notepad (on paper/desk) the device (sensor part) folds apart so it rests perfectly on any flat surface. It think it is an excellent product. The only issues I have is that it doesn't work on a 17" lcd, and it would have been nice to come with 2 metal pieces, for those with more than 1 laptop or monitor.
