Successful, which is pretty much what you want from a Chip Cooler. Big and Shiny... like a "little red sports car or truck" if you require that kinda issue, and have a "blinged out" windowed case. Confident Looks like you could OC your chip into orbit with this thing on it. LOUD. LOUD with a cheezy resistive speed handle. Unintuitive, no indication, nor instruction as to direction of airflow. Not even an arrow. And, no, you can not inform "just by searching at it". Bracket/mount will match 4 methods... 3 of which will be wrong for your installation, and you're pretty substantially "on your personal". Guidelines have been weak, web site was weaker. No way to know, with no either firing it up, or looking by way of many on the net forums, which way the issue moves air! Obnoxiously loud with the speed anything more than 1Ǚ or so. With the cheap trimpot jumped out, mobo could not lower speed itself, under "full tilt" turbine level.

It just keeps your processor cool. it is rather larger but i knew that when i purchased it. operating an e8400 on an EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 in an Antec 900 and my processor at idle is 24 c and at full load 31 c. Had a p4 3ghz that lived in the 50s in the exact same case and oem heatsink/fan.

The cooler works great. Whoever is in charge of processing the rebates sucks. I sent in every thing 5 months ago, have sent a number of emails considering that then, without having a single response, and have however to get 1 red cent out of them. When looking at acquiring this cooler, don't figure the rebate into the price tag, YOU"LL Never ever GET IT!!!!

Great for home defence!you could quickly bludgeon a would-be burgler to death with this. issue is wider and deeper than my hand!Appears like it would cool actually well lol, see cons/other thoughts. Either Tuniq is at fault for this or the Gigabyte UD5 that I purchased is, but was unable to attach to the motherboard so will be sending it back. Documentation is relatively poor. Truly wanted to use these beasts in my new machines but appears like fate just didn't want me to. Couldn't fit on the motherboard or the case I bought (because of sidefan)

I'm operating an E8500 on an EVGA 790i F-T-W with Mushkin 1600 7-7-7-6-18-2T. With the FSB at 1600 linked and synced, my CPU is operating at three.8Ghz. This cooler brought IDLE temps down to 37c from SEVENTY on the stock cooler. Under Prime95 now for about 4 hours and I haven't exceeded 57c with the fan on LOW speed. This cooler, combined with excellent compound and Suitable application (see Arctic web site) is totally amazing.120mm fan mounted INSIDE the fins tends to make for a incredibly clean appear (and apparently very great cooling too). Installation was incredibly challenging due mostly to the single divot holding the crossbar in location over the top of the sink. This clumsy technique to hold the crossbar enables it to swivel on top rated of the sink, generating it Incredibly challenging to mount with a fresh application of paste. It's huge, but that's NOT a con. I'm convinced its size is why it operates so properly. It's not silent, specifically if the rheostat is cranked up. The goods news is you don't need to have the factor spinning at 2000 RPM to get much more than sufficient cooling. The 775 crossbar also has a totally unneeded rounded edge on 2 sides that makes it impossible to fit past the EVGA 790i northbridge unless it's mounded 1 way and only one way.The instructions are w-o-r-t-h-l-e-s-s. Even if Tuniq hadn't used Babelfish to translate from Chinese they would nevertheless have sucked. Tuniq taking an hour to document installation would have saved me two hours. Just attempt to use prevalent sense and you'll be OK. I discovered that putting a little paste beneath the crossbar (between the crossbar and the best of the sink) hels retain the crossbar from swiveling about and acquiring out of alignment when you're fumbling around trying to secure it.

Big. Size matters when you cool your CPU. Major. Size matters if it doesn't fit into your case. Check the measurement of your case prior to you buy it. My case is a mid-tower, but it doesn't match due to the fan on side window panel of the case. Quite difficult to install due to its size. it's not worth the dollars and effort to set up.

OK functionality out of box, significantly superior following lapping (see cons). 40C for all cores on q9550 at idle, 55C beneath complete load. The guidelines of half the heatpipes are aesthetically displeasing. The base was horrible uneven and necessary an hour or so worth of operate with sandpaper to appropriate. Looks excellent now, but subsequent time I will commit additional on a better cooler.

I use this on an E6400 and it keeps the temps way down and I do locate it quiet as effectively. Demands a larger case for it to match. Due to the fact my tower is kept in a dust-friendly place, I have to take the case out each 6 months to blow the dust that builds up.

Keeps my e8400, overclocked to over 4 Ghz, idle at about 40C and never ever goes above 50C, even on load. Its about 25C when operating at stock speed. Big, blocks a lot of screw holes. Make positive your case is wide sufficient for this monster, my Antec 300 case barely match it with about a cm of space amongst the cooler and the side of the case. This is an amazing cooler even though and would propose to anybody.

Upgraded to this from a Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. This, alongside an upgrade to an Antec 900 dropped my CPU temps from high 40's idle and just about 70c load, to 30c idle and 45c tops immediately after hours of prime95 stress test It's massive, but that's not actually a con. It fit completely in my Antec 900 Get It!

I personal one more Tunique cooler which I was true happy with so I sprung the income for this 1 and I'm bitterly disappointed. It does cool nicely, extremely well, but there are set up concerns and I'm surprised this product is so hugely rated here mainly because these difficulties should be affecting a lot of folks. I assume this is the very first time I'm ever giving a solution I've bought here 1 star. Install on AM2 boards is just flimsy. Other people here have said it and their comments are getting marked as unhelpful. I'll add my voice to them. The clip that comes to set up on AM2 setups is a two piece clip. Getting it to match adequately is a discomfort and when installed the whole heatsink will float on prime of the CPU. It's not strong construction at all.The speed regulator have to be plugged in for the fan speed to be controlled. Otherwise it runs at full blast. I'm going to attempt to get around this and to try installing it (doesn't match in the back of my antec 300 case.) If I can't get this point to quit down I'm going to have to return this item. Mine didn't come with the thermal grease. Was advertised, just none was in there...

looks very good and has major fan I have a fanless program and this fan becasue it's turned sideways inside the heatsink caused my computer to run wayyy to hot. My graphics were very choppy and stuttered continuelly simply because of the lack of air curculation. I am ordering the fan i had before which has lasted at least 2-3yrs (Arctic Cooling-Freezer). I'm confident this unit may possibly be great in any other setup but mine just got way to hot. On the upside.....Newegg nevertheless rocks and got me the unit in no time!

-The connection to the motherboard appears extremely sturdy.-Even though the unit does have girth to it, it probably will not harm a excellent mobo ( I put this on an old dell dimension 3000 mobo ).-The fan moves a good quantity of air without excess noise ( involving low and midway rpm ) -At high rpm, it offers off a mildly irritating hairdryer-like sound, loud sufficient to be heard clearly though the case.-If typical sense has abandoned you, then you will most probably slice your self on the heatsink fins. Just treat 'em like your morning razor.-Tightening the screws was cramped, with mobo components becoming really close to the heatsink. Dell makes use of propriatory fan connections ( at least in my rig ), so I have not tested functionality running off the motherboard. I do not know if this applies for all the units, but it seems that following about midway, the fan controller is maxed out. More than all, this is a fantastic acquire for upgrading old hardware. ( Mine is sitting on a 2.6 Ghz Celeron D. I know it is overkill ; )

Everyone thinks my temps are reading incorrectly, mainly because my OC load temps on my X3 720 are reduced than their idle temps with a stock fan. OC'd at 3.six Ghz, my one hundred% 3 core load temp is 38C. Installation can be a discomfort, though it was considerably simpler to install it on my Gigabyte 790FX-UD5 MB than my old Socket 939 Opteron 170 mb. If you're patient and take your time, it won't be an issue. Yes, it is Big. I can't place my Reaper Memory in channel due to the fact their heatsinks would hit this cooler.

(look at cons) it is a big let me restate that a Large!!! hassle to place into an AMD 2 socket..I had to get rid of my motherboard and it took me more than 1 hour just to set up anything and yet I still assume that the AMD socket clip is rubish!! with a bit of miscalculated movement the cooler slides about which brings worries into my head...oh also there was no guidelines in how to install it for an AMD socket this is not a item for noobies...trust me

Does a wonderful job maintaining the CPU cool, and is somewhat quiet. -INSANELY substantial. It's impossible (for me) to take away it devoid of removing the whole motherboard, and it's impossible to attain something below it, as explained under.-Very spiky. This heatsink will cut you up. It is really sharp, and has 8 practical spikes that seem to exist for the sole goal of hurting you.-Extremely undesirable style (aside from spikiness). You have to stick an adhesive thing on the back of your motherboard so that you may possibly screw it in. It would have been Much better if they created it so that you just had to screw it into the back somehow, mainly because I had to use a paint scraping tool to force it off (as I am replacing it with a smaller heatsink), luckily not damaging my motherboard. DO NOT buy this if you have any concerns over space, or you'll regret it.

Extremely sturdy, can inform it wasn't cheaply manufactured. Keeps my Q6600 OC'd to 3.2ghz at about 61c below load with 72f ambient area temp. It's nice how you can modify out fans if you do so decide on to. I have reseated more than and over once more and to no avail have I observed decrease temps than my old AC Freezer Pro 7. Employing the same thermal paste and with each reseat I can see that the thermal paste is completely spread out across the heat spreader with no places out of nearly direct contact with the copper base. Was honestly expecting something much better than the identical temps from a solution that fees nearly twice as significantly as an older element. Was going off of a lot of testimonials and specs for this cooler. I would've provided this a decrease rating, on the other hand I'm constantly one particular to blame my own installation, though in this case, I'm not so positive of that.

This a big heatsink. I'm sure you currently know this by now. But because it's large, there's a lot of surface location, which implies nice heat dissipation. The included fan is truly quiet (rated at 20dBA) at its lowest speed, and you get a fan controller if you want to crank it up. I don't believe my thermal paste has settled, and I most likely ought to redo it because I ran into a lot of snags through installation, but proper now I'm overclocking my Core two Duo from 1.86ghz x 2 to 2.80ghz x 2, and it idles at about 50 C and just beneath 70 C under load. Hopefully outcomes increase with a repositioning. This is a huge heatsink. It's also kinda ugly. I don't actually know why they had to go with a wavy flamey pattern. It's extremely unattractive. Thankfully, my tower doesn't have clear sidepanels so it'll be tucked away. As an alternative of the ugly wave pattern, they could've maximized the surface area by just opting to go flat and square. The other huge dilemma was motherboard clearance. The mount for 775s didn't fit at initial due to the fact it didn't clear the heatsinks on my motherboard. I had to dremel off some sections in order to position the heatsink to blow out the back and not upwards. All round, the heatsink does its job. It does a fantastic job with cooling, even at the lowest, quiet fanspeed. It's a tacky shape, but I'll be keeping it tucked away so it won't be noticed.

Cools well, looks impressive. Installing and removing this factor tends to make me want to punch an orphanage. I swap out my CPU now and then, and it's a hassle just about every time. You truly, seriously want to get rid of your motherboard to stay away from the hassle, which in my opinion is not a massive deal, but nonetheless. Ok. The TT is a very good HSF, no doubt, but contemplating that HSF technologies has advanced and there are cheaper, superior performing options out there, I wouldn't make this buy. Tuniq has a new generation of the Tower, and in the incredibly least I would commit the added บ and get that one particular. It's quite higher rated, as one would anticipate from this firm mainly because they make great CPU coolers. (Tuniq is made by Sunbeam, and there are also some excellent coolers under the Sunbeamtech name). There are all kinds of new coolers out now that are better performing, less difficult to install, and less costly. appear for some thing with exposed heat pipes in the contact core, or get the new Tuniq Tower 120 Intense or whatever the new one particular is referred to as.

Dropped my Prime 95 load temps by 11c and idle by 7c and the Arctic Silver five hasn't even cured however. Plus the fan is operating on the low setting. Never goes previous 51c when gaming on my Q6600 ʃ.4, 1.38v. Cost is a small high, but is worth every single penny.Lining up to mount is a small tricky. The fan is pretty loud on high. I have a cramped Sonata III with only 3 120mm fans (Tuniq fan integrated) and I'm amazed at how a lot cooler my program is now. The enormous heatsink with the 120mm fan surely helped.Fits fine on an IP35 pro in a Antec Sonata III. Newegg appears to be back to their old techniques. Got right here in 2 days.

Fantastic CPU cooler, cools my not overclocked QX6850 idle 30 to 35 and it rarely breaks 46 under load. It can be a discomfort if you have a mid tower and operate on your laptop a lot. I've upgraded my motherboard and processor a few occasions and setting up this mother never ever gets simple. It also prevents me from employing a 120mm side situation fan in my Antec 900 (although it fit with my old motherboard considering that the cpu was placed slightly additional north). I have to use a 90mm and hold it on with rubber bands. To LoXodonte: arctic silver 5 requirements to go by means of a break in period prior to it operates to complete impact, which signifies that it requires to go by means of a number of cool down, warm up cycles. Also, all heatpipe coolers execute to their greatest efficiency under higher temps/high load so it's tough to judge them on idle temps even with an overclock.

This is one heck of a cooler. Initially got this back in གྷ from the egg, and it has however to let me down. It keeps my Q6600 (G0) at about 40-55c. (Right now it's high. Explanation in the cons section) and my CPU is OC'd to three.0ghz. Unless you want something much better, or require a different cpu cooler, then get this a single. As I believe 100% of everyone else says: It's big. But is it a con in my opinion? NO, infact, looks wicked in my Computer case (Side View). Now a warning: The 775 Bracket you get, unless you're By no means going to modify your motherboard (Like I did, just currently, which is why my temps is a tiny high, fresh thermal paste) do NOT use the sticky on the bracket. You will need to have a miracle to pry it off. Thankfully, I was able to eliminate it from my old motherboard, bent it a little(brackets, MB is protected), but is reusable. And now is on my new motherboard. But once more, dont use the sticky....unless you know you're not going to modify out motherboards. Getting 3 years later, I would adore to attempt some other coolers. But seeing as how the 120 does what I need to have, and I am not going to OC to lets say four.0ghz, for the price, and efficiency, can't recommend not grabbing 1. :)
