Purchased this product because WiFi was just not fast enough and reliable. I was happy with this purchase cause now I have a constant fast connection.

Cons: none so far

Pros: Very easy to set upReliable fast connectionNo wires across the house
Comment:
I purchased this and was happy that it worked right out of the box. A way better option as the wifi signal from one corner of the house the the far corner in the basement was weak. I've plugged a hub in to mine so that my PS3/WiiU/etc all have a fast wired connection.I haven't needed to use the sync buttons or the utilities on the disc, so I can't comment on the problems the other users have had.

Cons: Sync/Reset buttons don't seem to reconnect unitsBundled utility isn't user-friendly

Pros: Frees up its outletMore consistent than wifi
Comment:
Bought 2 units (4 adapters in total) to extend/stabilize wireless coverage. These work great until any of them disconnects... Then it's a nightmare trying to reconnect it because the hardware buttons (sync and reset) don't seem to do anything! I've only been successful resetting all devices to use public network using the TRENDnet Powerline Utility multiple times

Cons: Severely lacking any documentation. Just comes with one picture of instructions. That's it.

Pros: Simple setup, works out of the box
Comment:
There is essentially no documentation on this device. The CD that comes with it (containing some utility software, also undocumented) contains a PDF of the included picture. If they wanted to save paper I'd understand, but it seems like they were just too cheap to get proper instructions done. The picture instructions only show how you should and should not set it up with a power bar. There is nothing about the Sync and Reset buttons, what behaviours of the flashing lights mean, or any safety warnings. For this reason alone I'd recommend buying an alternative from a better known brand like Linksys. As for the actual functionality, I am using this 2 floors up from the router in the basement, and the utility software tells me that I have a speed of 126 mbps. Not bad - it's far, far better than using unstable wireless. I do have it connected to a parallel power outlet by the router so that might be adding to the attenuation, but 126 mbps is more than enough for what I need.Depending on your problem, it may or may not be worth it at regular price. I bought this only because the two major ISPs in my area won't give you bridge-enabled modem/routers (so that you can use your own router), and only after I saw it on sale.It does seem to work with nearly any device though, so the possibilities are numerous. Looking forward to trying this with an ethernet switch.Hopefully nothing goes wrong with mine. These aren't simple devices and given Trendnet's cheapness with the instructions, I'm afraid that they'll fail sooner than I'd expect. They're actually kind of heavy too so the shipping costs to them for RMA won't be pretty.

Cons: Other than the tricky cd and the fact that this isn't free, what bad things can I say about this product.

Pros: When its on sale it is a great deal. Also no need for wires around the house anymore
Comment:
This powerline package was definitely what I expected. It is more reliable than wireless and less messy than a direct cable in the house. All and all I would not mind buying this product again.

Cons: A good WIFI connection is faster.Must have a Windows PC around to fix the units after you try and use the sync buttons.

Pros: It does what it is supposed to do. If you don't have WIFI then this is great.
Comment:
I plugged them in and they worked no problem. To add some security I tried to use the sync buttons they stopped working all together. I tried all the suggested fixes as per the manual nothing worked. The buttons on the devices themselves cannot be relied on, you MUST have a Windows PC kicking around. I use Linux so that was an issue for me. You need the Utility software to get into the devices and change the network names and get them working again. I called tech support and ended up talking with a polite but not very knowledgable person in India. I would rate the tech support with a 1 star, a very frustrating experience. My connection is about 30' away, on the same wiring phase and same floor and the connection speeds are around 15-20mbps. Not that great really but my old PS3 has a very bad WIFI controller so it's better than that. I think any decent WIFI connection would be just as good. Overall the product works, would I buy this powerline thing again, yes but not this brand. The whole tech support thing turned me off.
