Cons: None that I've noticed

Pros: "Plug & play", stable, consistent
Comment:
I've been using a previous generation set for a couple years, and I bought this set to expand my network. Plugged them in and they connected to my existing network within seconds. No muss, no fuss, stable and consistent. I definitely recommend these; even better if you can get them on sale like I did.

Pros: Easy Setup, fast connection, remove head pain !

I've used this to plug my GF's laptop to the network since she got wireless issue. Everything is perfect since she went from wireless to wired.

Cons: -None so far

Pros: -Easy to setup-Speed is quite good IMO-Cheap
Comment:
Very good powerline adapter kit from Trendnet. It is very easy to use, just plug in the adapters to any power outlet and the network is there. Compact design and will not block the other outlet. Push the button on the bottom of the adapters, and they will automatically renegotiate a new network, pretty secure.Advertised as 500Mbps but that's not possible is a little bit misleading though. However, on sales at under 30 bucks and I just can't complain.

Review Date: 12/08/14
Cons: - When wired to the network I get 50Mbps download using speedtest.net, using the adapters I get 12Mbps- 500Mbps in the description is misleading (I was not expecting 500Mbps), the adapters have 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports

Pros: - Easy to Install- LEDs indicate connection and data transfer- Got them on-sale for $28.99
Comment:
Directly connected the adapters to the outlets - no power bars , UPS, or surge suppressors. Data rate between the two levels in my house was 12Mbps - pretty poor.I was hoping to use the adapters wire-in my iMAC so that I didn't have to continue using WiFi, but the performance is actually worse.I have wanted to place a SIP phone is an area of the house where I can not wire Ethernet - I guess that is where I'll end-up using them.

Cons: Make sure you are confident in the wiring you are using.

Pros: Easy deployment, fast enough, and convenient.
Comment:
These simple to use units make it easy to get decent network speeds to areas that are in wi-fi dead zones or in networks where people are concerned about wireless radiation (I know, I know, but I have given up arguing).Another good use is for renters who can't or won't pull cables through walls they don't own.Just be sure that the wiring in your home/office is modern and up to code. If you have any faults it can kill your speed or ruin the units.

Cons: No possible way to get 500Mbps from these

Pros: Works well, decent speed and is reliable so far
Comment:
Been using these devices for a few weeks and they've been great no issues at all, connection is stable. Getting about ~50-60Mbps speed. Not sure why they advertise 500Mbps, they only have E10/100 interfaces so it's not possible to go over 100M. Also, the speed you get depends on the length/path of the electric wires in your walls and if they're on different 120V circuits (on different breakers).I did have a problem getting them to work on a power bar - they like to be plugged directly into the wall socket or they don't work well.Otherwise these are a great solution for decent (10-100M) connectivity where wireless isn't an option.

Cons: Quality control

Pros: Decent speeds, easy to set up, good power savings, small
Comment:
After a really quick initial setup which involved updating the firmware and syncing the two units, everything was working great.About after 20 days the unit started to have intermittent dropouts. After 30 days, one of the units wouldn't power up at all.I bought the kit for 28.99 on sale and then had to pay 18.30 to send the unit back for RMA 30 days later. We'll see what happens...

its not as fast as Cat6 cable but it is a heck of a lot more convenient than laying a cable across the house

Cons: Connection speed to home network

Pros: More stable than Wifi, compact unit
Comment:
Good value for the money, but very disappointed with the speed of my connection. For Internet usage it is great. I am paying Shaw for 25Mbps Internet, which my PC hits without a problem. My concern is that my connection to my NAS server is between 1.5-5.5Mbps when moving files back or forth. When it was hard wired in my old home, I would get 35-50 Mbps without a problem.I have these units about 25 feet apart in separate rooms. One unit is plugged in to my Shaw Wifi modem, where I have my Synology NAS server, while the other end is in my office where my PC is. While the Internet speed is great, copying/moving files between PC/NAS is dreadfully slow. Nothing has changed with my Synology NAS, so I can only assume it is the ethernet over power adapters. Fortunately the Wifi streaming from my NAS to tablets, Chromecast, Roku, etc has been very stable. It is just aggravating copying 1GB of data and waiting 15 minutes in this day and age.I have also experienced a handful of service interruptions and once even saw my neighbors network after resetting the sync button (whom I assume must also be using network over power adapters). After resetting the adapters they are typically stable for at least 2-3 weeks. I can live with the occasional reset, but unless I can iron out the dreadful slow transfer speeds, I will be looking for a better permanent solution (relocating Shaw modem and NAS to PC room will require external wiring on the home which I don't want). My experience has mostly been positive. For the price I paid, my complaints may be overstated. If the speeds were better for my NAS, I would give it another star.

I bought this to hardwire connect a wireless access point back to my router. The access point is located on the first floor and the wireless router on the second. Wireless dead spots seem to be everywhere on my lower level. This powerline adapter kit works as advertised. According to the enclosed Trendnet utility I am sustaining a 200mpbs connection. My wireless coverage has never been better. Great Product! Highly recommended.

Pros: Small devices
Comment:
As per invoice 3416023 I have ordered 2 sets of TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit Part 80858.I received the order and I got poor quality and defective devices.Even if I connect in same room I can't get more than 54Mbps.I have tested my network and my internet provider give me 150Mbps ( I have readings of 200Mbps straight on my router), when I connect via TRENDnet TPL-406E2K my readings drop  to 15Mbps.When I did a firmare update  on the second set, the device failed and didn't start up.Please advice what is the procedure to return the devices and get the money back.I am very disappointed about this product.

This is easy to install and works well, faster and more stable than the 200MPS Trendnet units. Most of all it is stable with 4 units while the other one is not stable with 4.Great price at $32 taxes in and shipped too.

Cons: Higher PING, short cables, can't plug into power bar.

Pros: Faster download and upload speed than wireless, no housing maintenance, was inexpensive on sale.
Comment:
I have been using a wireless connection for over a year in my bedroom on the third floor of my house. My wireless modem was on the second floor and on the other side, about 40 feet away at a diagonal. Upgrading the wireless router and the adapter in my computer weren't exactly an option, neither was running 100 feet of RJ45 cable through the walls. This was a great way to get faster internet, especially at the sale price that I got it ($35 after taxes with free shipping). If you have a wireless connection but hate gaming online, this is a good recommendation instead of buying other hardware. Plus, you can put take the adapters to other parts of your house is you plan to move your computer or anything. It's a great compromise.

Cons: Units sometimes get quite hot. Nowhere near 500Mbps.

Pros: Easy connection. Good speed for the Internet.
Comment:
If you plug these units into the outlets without plugging in any other appliances, you'll get a good and stable network connection. Each unit must occupy the entire outlet exclusively. Otherwise, you may get sudden slow downs or even drop  outs.

Cons: Perhaps the throughput limit commented on by others, if accurate. Possible flakey connection to router.

Pros: Plug and play. No set up required.
Comment:
Item works well. Once in the week thus far of ownership, the connection was lost, but I don't know if that was the device or the router. A renewing of IP address solved it.
