Cons: nothing really but the bass was not what i expected so I always have the subwoofer 1 color or 4 volume levels higher than the others

Pros: Hearing and watching video reviews about this has certainly surprised me with the models they have now. They have been on back order for quite a while but now it is on stock :). Tritton really listened to their customers by adding 1 ac adapter and putting a power button the decoder along with having a flexible mic that doesn't break to easy now. Best headset so far loving the 5.1 Surround Sound great for gaming, great for entermaint.
Comment:
Tritton improved this headset a lot. I really like this headset and would buy it again for a friend if I got the money. Wouldn't trade this for the longest time, get this headset it is great.

Cons: Supplied optical cable had to be held in place with tape. Set up and troulbe shooting instructions could be better.

Pros: Works well with xbox live
Comment:
They've made me a better player and games more engrossing. Audio quality for music play back leaves alot to be desired but that's not what I bought them for. Solid build quality and very comfortable.

Cons: The mic cord that came with mine had some problems but got replaced. The XBL chat would cut out cause the cord was faulty, with the new cord things work great though.

Pros: I had these on pre-order before they came out I got them as the day the store opened on the tritton site. There is alot to say about these headphones. The are comfortable, I have worn them for upwards of 8 hours straight. Yes at that point you might get a bit sore but the first 7 hours were great. They work with PC/PS3/X360 they have an independant channel for XBL chat which is a huge improvment for anyone who had the AX600 pair, which are also good. They are very very very loud. You have to set the volume from the amp AND the inline control so things can get a little loud I rarely turn them up past half on the inline and they are just over half on the amp.
Comment:
True 5.1 sound in a pair of headphones. its great for anyone who lives in an apartment building or with a family. You can get suond so loud it will blow your ear drums and you won't distrub your wife cooking you dinner. I suggest buying these if you play any FPS. I play COD4/5 Killzone2 Rainbow6 GOW2 GR2 and the headphones rock for them all. ALso great on my PS3 for watching bluray movies.

Cons: Speaker cups a little tight on the ears.Requires considerable tweaking to deliver the kind of sound you expect out of a $200 True 5.1 headset. Don't expect to just put them on and be blown away.

Pros: Tons of stuff in the box. Literally, every cable you could possibly need.Great build quality and quality speakersLong cord with independent speaker volume adjustmentsExcellent subwoofer (if adjusted properly)

Games tested:FEAR 2, Grand Theft Auto 4, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 5, Fallout 3Movies Tested: The Dark Knight (BluRay Dolby Digital), Lord of the Rings: Return of the King DTSSetup: Analog 5.1 plugged into back of X-fi Titanium Platinum Fatality Professional. I don't have a game console so the processing box is not utilized in any of the testing nor is the included mic. SorryInitial impressions: The subwoofer is weak in these headphones with default settings and this will leave many users unimpressed or possibly dejected and wanting their money back. In both games and movies it's hardly audible. However, with some tweaking of the audio console panel I enabled Bass redirection, subwoofer gain +15db and set the crossover frequency at 80Hz with the subwoofer level at 50%. This causes a dramatic increase in overall sound quality and you'll get the OOMPH! to rival a home theatre. If you get these headphones this should be the first thing you tweak. There is built in volume control on the headphones which allows you to adjust the volume of each channel independently. These buttons are LED lit and change color to match the volume. I found this to be more of a nuisance than a useful feature. Why buy a set of True 5.1 headphones, match them with an expensive sound card only to let the volume levels be adjusted by buttons? Also, what affect does this have on the sound quality? There is no documentation to make it clear whether max volume level is boosting the volume or simply giving you 100% of the volume coming out of the sound card. I found there was a noticably louder hiss when any of the speakers were set to max volume so I drop ped them all 2 notches to medium and increased the volume of my sound card to compensate; this leads me to believe it is boosting the signal but I have no way of verifying that.Comfort level has acceptable but if you intend to wear these for an extended period of time you'd better not have a big fat head or Vulcan ears; with the faux leather or default ear cups there is quite a bit of pressure on your ears. It would seem these were designed for children.Gaming Use:At default settings I found gunfire in all tested games lacked the punch that even my Sony stereo headphones delivered but with the subwoofer tweak mentioned above the gun play became a cinematic experience. Before purchasing these headphones I had read some user complaints about "dead zones" of sound which became noticable in Call of Duty during artillery. Perhaps this was an issue when connected via the optical connection to an Xbox 360 because I did not experience it with the analog inputs. I even went through some of the levels backwards so I could isolate the rear channels and spin around during combat to judge the surround field; at no point did the sound completely drop  out. My only complaint is that the rear channel sound is noticably quieter than the front but I could not say if this is normal for 5.1 games since I do not have a 5.1 speaker set to compare. It does seem unnatural when a character is talking to you and you turn around only to have their voice drop  considerably even though the distance is unchanged. The bottom line is that all the speakers performed well and the overall sound effect is quite impressive.Movie Usage:I would absolutely recommend these headphones for movie watching. In both movies I tested the sound quality was phenomenal and with the bass boost the subwoofer roared into action during the Jokers attack on the Police swat vehicles or the Battle of Pellanor Fields in Return of the King. I did notice a slight tinny echo during the most intense explosions it was very minor and otherwise the sound is clear. These headphones (and all other 5.1 headphones that I know of) will not be able to replicate the effect rear channel speakers provide when sounds are behind you. The speakers are simply too close to your ears for that kind of immersion.Music Usage:The weakest element of these headphones has to be the music performance which is expected with gaming headphones but they performed decently enough. You will have to switch your speakers to 2 channel mode to get the best sound quality although I stayed with 5.1 mode.Overall Impression:If you need to watch movies or game without disturbing anyone around you then these headphones are a must have purchase. The fact that you can hook them directly to a PS3/Xbox 360 or PC is a huge plus. They can also be hooked up directly to a DVD player. If you already have a good set of 5.1 speakers then these probably won't be worth purchasing especially since they are rather expensive (~160USD, 185-200CDN). If you plan on using them for console gaming you will need a powerbar with space for 2 large plugs, one for the headphones and another for the processing box. Once you've got them connected it does not get in the way.In the days I spent gaming with these headphones I was constantly adjusting the volume in different games so expect similar adjustments. If I had to pick a main gripe that would be it. I have used the Zalman 5.1 headphones in the past and they did not have a dedicated subwoofer like these do and it makes a huge difference.

Cons: No Storage Case / Difficult to StoreReq's 2 power outletsNo power switch for headset

Pros: True Surround Works Flawless with PS3Clear Microphone when gaming on PS3 with in line mic muting.Comfortable headset to wear for hours
Comment:
My first exp with these headphones hooked up to my home theater was to pull them off my head because it sounded like my sony home theater was still pumping out the sound. When I removed the headset all I heard was silence. THESE HEADPHONES ARE THE REAL SURROUND DEAL. Since then I've had most of my friends do the same routine of disbelief. (It will remind you of when you first setup your old 5.1 system, heard a thunderstorm in the movie and ran out to your car to roll up the windows or close the sunroof!!! Afterwords stunned that your stereo fooled you!) I bought these in late 2008 and couldn't be happier with them. I mainly use them to play PS3 and the rare movie when I'm hiding from my wife. I've worn them for hours on end gaming and have had only minor issues with comfort over time. The headset as a whole leads to a mess of wires hooked up to your system however the gorgeous sound you get out of them and the stunning base representation is well worth the cord mayhem! As Tritton advertises, the headset has a mic which is compatible with the PS3 as well as 360. In line muting and mic vol control is a blessing. 2 Power outlets are req'd. One for the receiver and one for the headset itself. This would be frustrating for some customers with limited free outlets on their power bar. The receiver box features an on/off power switch however the headphones will only power down buy pulling the coupler to the power cord. I presume it's Tritton's belief that all consumers would be disconnecting their headphones from the receiver after every use? I can't speak enough to the sound the headset puts out. If anyone from Tritton reads how happy I am with these headphones please contact me and I will gladly showcase these headphones anywhere in the world! LOL. To anyone considering these as a purchase... You're making a great choice!

Cons: Expensive for a headset but you get what you pay for when you hear them and realize you can connect to pretty much anything.

Pros: Great 5.1 gaming sound with analog or digital connection. Really puts you in the game.Works as a headset through digital optical, analog, and usb. Very versatile.Mic quality is great and voice comes through very clear and others hear your voice really well.
Comment:
I use this headset with my Creative X-fi Titanium Fatality Sound card through the digital optical out connection as i allready have a 5.1 speaker system connected through analog. I would say that the 5.1 analog connection sounds slightly crisper than the digital but its not that big of a deal or difference to bother unplugging and replugging in the analog connection all the time. Remember that if you are using vista(maybe xp too) and using the digital optical connection with the headset, to disable the usb speaker device under audio options in control panel once its installed as it will be using the headset as a usb speaker and mic instead of a digital optical speaker and usb mic. Then enable digital out and your good to go!Great Sound quality in general and glad i bought!
