Cons: Software/firmware a bit buggyNeed to figure out some things not mentioned in manual or tutorials

Pros: Small, compact, solid build, good amount of features, easy set-up
Comment:
My first real NAS and very impressed with it so far. A lot of features and I have 2 WD Reds (2TB each) inside. Very easy to set-up and use immediately. Restricted to RAID 0, 1 or JBOD which is understandable as it is only a 2-bay NAS.I currently have it setup as single volumes and skipped RAID altogether. Transfer speeds are amazing (without RAID). I am seeing sustained speeds of 60 megaBYTES/s read/write. My old primative NAS before it only achieved 10MB/s max. Huge difference in performance.Only issues I had was when setting up email notifications. Tried everything, even their forums. But nothing helped and couldn't get it working. Eventually had to change the sender name field to an email address (instead of name) to get it working.VPN also doesn't work as well as I had hoped. Computer was fine, but Android for some reason refused to work. But I think that's more the fault with Android than the NAS. I enjoy being able to connect to it remotely throught QNAP's cloud service and upload my pics to it as a temporary backup until I can archive them later. So far, I'm very impressed with this unit. No real complaints with it.

Cons: None so far

Pros: Nice quality, fast web interface, MANY features!
Comment:
Just got this in today, and so far it seems pretty sweet. I needed a faster NAS then my other one (ReadyNAS NV+, setup in x-raid) because I could never break the 10MB / sec on my gigabit network (it was usually slower). Backing up system images to it was a pain! Now just to review the old one a bit, it works well for stability, but its interface is horrifically slow and a bit clumsy.I put in the drives and logged in to the QNAP and man was it sweetly fast! The layout was pretty decent and the options were immense! Also as a side note, I upgraded the memory to 3GB (added 2GB Chip), although I may not of needed it for what I'm going to do with it (no SQL database or web hosting). As right now its using a massive 330MB. That being said, its sweet you can just upgrade the memory.I'll see about posting my performance for it once the RAID finishes building (Raid 1). *Edit* Dang, with Western Digital 3TB Red drives, I was getting over 50MB per second Write and between 50MB and 60MB for read. The 2x WD Red drives are in RAID 1. This review was modfied by poster @ 01-12-13 03:51 AM
