Wow! This VGA cooler lowered my Sapphire Radeon HD3850 temps drastically. Here are my stock cooler temps: Idle = 61C, Load = 95CHere are my new temps with AC : Idle = 44C, Load = 54CLowered my full load temps by 40 degrees celsius. Worth it!

Pros: -Great cooling performance-Dead silent

-Decent cooling performance overall, and very quiet.-A little expensive though esp. if you need a few of these they end up costing as much as a video card. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-02-11 07:07 AM

Cons: Fan speed is not controllable with Catalyst Control Center or Sapphire Trixx OC utility; cooler takes up more space than stock cooler and caused me to have to remove my pci-e tuner card.

Pros: Great cooling, decent price, fits the 6870 just fine, comes prepasted and ready for mount.
Comment:
I have been wanting to get rid of the silly stock cooler on my 6870 since the first day I bought it. Finally I invested in this beauty of a cooler and so far I've very impressed. With stock cooler, my card would idle at around 43-45c (900/1050) and peak out in the mid to high 70s playing gpu intensive games like Witcher 2 or Metro 2033.With this cooler the card idles at 34-35c and after running 10 minutes of Furmark at 1900x1080 the card barely went over 60c.. that is impressive! Also, the readings from HWINFO showed that GPU2 and 3 temps were both around 65-67c.As far as performance goes, its a no brainer. I can finally overvolt and oc this card to be delight. Only problem I have with it is that the fan appears to not respond to controlling speeds through Trixx or Catalyst Control Center which is a bit of a bummer. Also, I was hoping that the cooler would be low enough that I would still be able to fit my tv tuner card in the pci-e x1 slot underneath (kinda the boards fault for bad positioning, I realize this) and it no longer does, so that card is now useless and will need to sell, but I was prepared for this to happen. Besides these couple points I'm still giving 5 stars because the performance alone and the headroom and silence that it gives is worth the price and more. Great product, highly recommended! And it looks good too ;)

Cons: Once i got in installed i loaded up my computer and went to the ATI Catalyst control center i wanted to turn the fan speeds up to max RPM to see the difference and how cold my card could get...However, The ATI Catalyst control center doesn't recgonize the fan and you can't turn the Fan speeds up to max UNLESSYou download a Program called RivaTuner...just do a quick google search next time you buy something like this. (For me this riva tuner Solution does not work which i am a little angry about)And last but not least, The Support ive been trying to get from arctic is terrible there not answering my emails or questions and theres not a phone number you can call.

Pros: I Run a Ati 4890 and my stock fan broke and my card was roasted however not broken or Burnt out. And With this Fan its allways idling around 33-41 Degrees (Keep in mind ive got a AC unit in my room which helps out alot) As Apposed to the stock fan that kept it 48-59 Idling. Its really quiet i mean REALLY quiet. I could drop  a pin and hear it it the carpet in my room.
Comment:
In Summary The Fan is great however i would be able to turn the fan up to max speed because i would like to overclock it without having to worry about the heat.

I bought this cooler when I bought a hd5770 when it first came out. The blower fan was too noisy so the money is well spent. It is not in the compatible list but with some modding, I manage to reduce my idle temp from 35*c to 28*c and load temp from 72*c to 48*c with a good airflow case.

Pros: very quietvram heatsinksram heatsinks (also come with adhesive)easy to installgreat for overclocking, it keeps everything VERY cool!

I picked this up because I was overclocking my Sapphire 6850. I couldn't take the noise of the factory cooler. I grabbed this on sale for $35 and it's been night and day! When I overclock, it barely makes any noise difference from idle. This is a great product if you intend or are overclocking your 6850 and are on a reference type cooler. I highly recommend the Arctic Cooling TTP.

Cons: Instructions don't say anything about the power connection/requirements.

Pros: Very quiet!2 fantastic fans!
Comment:
I bought this because the fan on my Sapphire ATI HD4870 (~2 years old) screamed whenever I played Crysis 2 which was really frustrating for my office mates when I was taking a break and they were still working. I have a lanboy air case so fan noises are really noticeable. With the new cooler installed there's barely any difference in noise between normal use and gaming so I'm very happy with the results. According to the catalyst control panel Crysis 2 usually runs around 60 deg with at fan speed 40%.As far as installation it was my first time with a VGA cooler and took me about an hour and a half. The copper heat pipes run all the way from the GPU through the fins. It comes with a variety of RAM heat sinks for different cards and it was a bit confusing figuring out which to use for my card. The GPU heat sink sits about half an inch above the card to make space for the RAM heat sinks, which is why it takes up an extra PCI slot.I decided to stick with the thermal paste that came pre-applied since I figured that an arctic cooling product would come with decent paste. Screwing the heatsync over the gpu was a bit tricky.I was a bit confused about powering the fans as it comes with an odd power adapter for connecting the fans directly to the power supply. I just plugged the fans into the card and it's working fine so I just went with that.

Cons: Although the overall workmanship was very good, a few of the aluminum fins had separated from the heat pipes where they are soldered to them. The adhesive applied to the back of the RAM heatsinks is weak and doesn't hold them in place very well. It's a heavy cooler, and the card bends a bit. I wish aftermarket coolers would come with some sort of support bracket.

Pros: Works as advertised: Lowered my VGA temps from 70-80 under load to 45-50.Quality construction.Fans are very quiet.
Comment:
Although I love the graphical performance of the Sapphire AMD6870, the howling of the stock cooler and high operating temperatures were both annoying and troublesome. A little bit of research indicated that VGA coolers designed to fit the 5800 series cards are relatively easy to adapt to the 6800 series.Although I had to use a different heat sink compound to get the RAM heat sinks to stick (the leftover silver-gray goopey tape that I recycled from the stock AMD cooler worked great), the cooler was fairly easy to install. Since it is a bit on the heavy side, It does bend the GPU a bit once it's installed. It performed excellent. The stock cooler kept the card at around 45-50 C at idle and as high as 90 under load. With the Twin turbo pro, I saw temperatures no higher than 50C when playing even the most demanding games like Crysis and Mass Effect 2.To boot, the twin cooling fans are extremely quiet, and contribute to overall air movement in the case.I am very impressed with the Twin Turbo pro. I'd recommend this unit to anyone who has a compatible card that runs too hot with stock cooling, or for someone who wants excellent cooling performance in silence. It would make a great addition to a HTPC graphics card. The $50 asking price only seals the deal.

Cons: Although it supports the 5870, it's not really recommended for it... the 5870 seems to produce too much heat.

Pros: Very quiet even at full fan speed, quite flexible in its support for various video card designs.
Comment:
I actually ordered one of these along with a different cooler as an experiment with a XFX 5870 after reading about others' successes with it on their 5870s. The card does not appear to be reference, but the Twin Turbo Pro is actually quite flexible in that it was able to be easily installed anyway. As well, I did not overclock the card at all. However, even after following the instructions to the letter, after installing the TTP, the card would idle at a few degrees C lower than the stock cooler, but would also run at around 14C hotter at load. In fact, with the TTP installed, the card would run so hot at load (92C) that it would trip the thermal protection and start throttling the clock speed.Stock cooler range was around 32C to 78C.Range with TTP installed was about 28C to 92C (it would not get hotter than 92 because that's when the card would start throttling).I actually settled for one of its competitors, the Zalman VF3000A. Much better cooler for a 5870. Temps in the range of 25C to 55C at HALF fan speed! With the fan at full, the load temp hovers at around 50C (though it's quite a bit louder than a Twin Turbo Pro, but still quieter than the stock fan at full). So at load it's a full 28C lower than the stock cooler, and around 42C lower than a TTP.I double checked every step of the installation to try to troubleshoot the problem. I even tightened the screws down very well to make sure that sufficient contact was being made between the core and the heat sink. Nothing I did yielded any better results however. So, after hours of testing and fiddling with it, I'm setting the TTP aside possibly to use on another card.Don't get me wrong, when this cooler is installed, it looks sorta sexy, and you can at least maintain fan control through Catalyst Control Center since it gives you the option of connecting its fans to the card's fan header. However, it's just not meant for a high end card putting out so much head. I realize this is just recounting my limited experience with this product, your mileage may vary.

I got one of these because I was running my card 24/7 on full and with temps getting to the low 80's I was getting worried. Now that I put this guy on the card never goes above 70C and thats running for a month at a time in a low flow case with everything overclocked! All in all I would say Im very happy with this but the price needs to come down if they want to sell them anymore.

Cons: Expensiveit doesn't give the card much support. One thing about the stock coolers, they are made to support the PCB of the video cardMaybe a little too much MX-2 is appliedWould be nice if we were given a little tube as well

Pros: VERY VERY QUIET.Dropped temps 10deg w idle, and 20-30deg at loadlots of little heat-sinks included. (I had some extras, so i put them on something that looked like it could use some cooling love :)

This was my first attempt at installing an aftermarket video card cooler and man am I glad I got this one. The installation was quick and painless, even for a klutz like me. I had the dreaded fan rattle on my 5870, and rather than wait for an RMA (where most likely I would get a card back with the exact same problem anyway), I decided to just upgrade.Super quiet (when it runs at max speed, the noise is equivalent to the original fan j 25%) and the temps are exactly what others have experienced (34 idle and I haven't pushed it past 52 playing games yet).Quality product!

Cons: - Could benefit from some more detailed documentation

Pros: - Looks nice- Very quiet- Significant drop  in temperatures- (Relatively) Problem-free installation
Comment:
Bought this cooler because the temperatures on my 5870 were a little bit higher than I was comfortable with. Not only did this cooler bring the temps down significantly (More than 10 degrees), it did it almost silently. Fan speed can be controlled from the Catalyst Control Center just like the stock cooler. Noise is barely noticeable even at 100% speed.Installation/assembly was a mostly straightforward affair. The only problem I had was removing the stock cooler on the 5870, and of course, this cooler cannot be faulted for that. The only gripe is that the instructions fall short of explaining certain things, which might confuse some less experienced buyers.Overall a very solid purchase if you're looking for a better VGA cooling solution, but don't need some of the more extreme products. If you've never purchased one before, just take the installation slow, follow the instructions carefully, and use the internet if you have trouble.Cheers!

Cons: A little too much thermal paste for my taste preinstalled. I cleaned it off and put a smaller amount. No biggie though.

Pros: Easy installation, quiet, fit my non reference powercolor 4890 no problem!!
Comment:
I bought this as a replacement for the stock cooling on my powercolor 4890 nonreference design card. The stock cooler had very poor VRM cooling, and was always at atleast 60% and would ramp up to 100% gaming. Too noisy. I was looking for a good replacement, and this was it! Very pleased. VRM tops out at 76C now. And the GPU tops out at 63C under extreme burning mode in FURMARK. I couldn't be happier.

Cons: The mini heat sinks should really be thermal pasted, rather than sticky's. The heat caused one to fall off, overheating my card (thank god for overheat shut-off protection)

Pros: Finally an affordable solution for the overheating GPU! Easy Installation, Great cooler, Great value! Great service from NCIX, as always.
Comment:
Although I now have the much cooler XFX 5870HD, I bought this Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo Pro for my ASUS 4870.I struggled for more than a year with the rampant overheating problems on the 4870 and finally got fed up and replaced it with an Nvidia 9800GT (palm to forehead). It remained a thorn in my side that I had "wasted" so much money on a great card that I could not use. I ordered this cooling solution as a last resort, and I cannot tell you how happy I am that I did! With the cooler installed, the card has never run better than it does now, and is several degrees cooler (stable at about 56 C under load). Now games like Crysis run more like I always thought they should.Even though I've upgraded to a newer card (drool), at least now I can sell the 4870 with a clear conscience; knowing it will perform well.

Installed on a 4870 1GB. IMO, I would clean off the thermal paste that is pre-applied as there is too much on there. This thing is so quiet, even at 100% but I run 60%.Make sure you take the time to clean the RAM chips with an eraser. I did and had no problem with the ram heat sinks staying put (held down for 30 seconds). I have a sapphire 5870 and this dropped my temps to 34C idle and 64C load and its extremely quiet! Two things i did not like:1) Instructions are not the best, but the install is simple enough that you can figure it out2) ram sinks were not very sticky and kept falling off every time i tried to screw down the card. It loses one star because of this. Otherwise this is a fantastic product! Also height of the pipes may interfere with your case. I have a antec skeleton but i cut the fan shroud with a dremel saw (otherwise it interferes)

Cons: Might have some trouble on certain cards, but it'll still work regardless.RAM sinks are not copper.Takes up three slots.Thermal paste too thick and too much.

Pros: Quiet; good instructions; fits many VGA cards; plenty of accessories; copper base with 4 copper heat pipes; dual fan; supplied with decent thermal compound
Comment:
Very easy to install, hardest part was cleaning the stock thermal paste off. Works perfectly on Powercolor 4890, no problems with the RAM sinks. Directions were easy to follow, just be sure to follow it very closely. However, the supplied thermal compound on the base plate was way too thick. I had to remove the cooler after tightening it because I forgot a ram sink, only to find that way too much paste was squeezed out to the side for my comfort. It's MX-2 which is supposedly non-conductive, but seeing that much squeezed out to the side still makes me uncomfortable. Had to clean it up then remount.Requires 3 slots, but supplied with 2 vented back plates. RAM sinks stuck on well, but felt cheap (copper would be much better.)Note: I cannot do a comparison between this and stock cooling since I installed it on a brand new Powercolor 4890 without reading stock temps. Best to read up on another, proper, review.
