My girlfriend had purchased an Asus laptop recently and it was uber enough to convince me to buy the u35 when my laptop was destroyed. First of all, this thing is a looker. Love the brushed aluminum lid and the chiclet keyboard. Sort of looks like a macbook pro. Processor is decent for surfing the web/youtube etc and I haven't really tried gaming with the dedicated card. Battery (for me at least) lasts around 6-7 hours on entertainment and 7-9 hours on battery saving mode which is good enough for a day of schooling without bringing along the adapter. Great warranty too - 2 years limited on hardware and 1 year 1 time accidental? That's just crazy. On the flip side, viewing angles of the screen are pretty unaccommodating, but that's not really a problem. I also had a run in with my browers not responding on me, then freezing up windows which appears to be an issue with many people who are running windows 7 64bit. Deleted AVG and set chrome to run in some compatiblity mode and that seemed to have solved my freezing problem. Finally, there is an electrical buzzing noise when one of the cores is idling. Gets kind of annoying, but at least it's not super loud. Sound goes away when you disable processor idling, but then your processor is running 100% all the time which drains the battery.Anyways, it's an awesome laptop and i would give it a 10/10 if it weren't for the buzzing sound :)
