Just received this laptop for the new school year and it definitely lives up to its specifications. Compared to my old ball & chain, this one is almost as light as a tablet with a whole lot more functionality. For those who care about it, the keyboard on this one was a standard US layout.The CPU is robust for the form factor and is paired with a decent CPU. If I had the extra cash I would have definitely swapped out the HD for a SSD.On the other side, I had to spend a lot of time fixing the bloatware Asus loaded this thing with. Several programs didn't work out of the box: Asus Lifeframe3 (webcam software) had to be reinstalled, an old version of Google Chrome had to be reinstalled, the recovery DVD creator included will not recognize a network address for a DVD writer, and some fonts were broken and needed to be reinstalled (Arial for Steam, for example). The included security software trial was Trend Micro Titanium, if that matters to you.The flaws are ones that I can overcome, but might stump the average user. Also, the warranty is only two years if you register with Asus.
