It is a $9.99 enclosure no more no less. Hard Drive plugs in to the circuit board and does not secure to anything else, so handle it with care. The USB cable has one end that has a single plug and the other end has two plugs. The manual did not mention anything regarding this. Through trial and error and reading back a number of pages in the reviews the double end has to be plugged into two ports on your computer. I paid what I got for. Will spend a little more next time for an enclosure. |

After the motherboard burned out in my old laptop, I did some research and found this enclosure to be just what I needed. I was able to recover all my data. To this day, I am still using my drive as an external data backup drive. This enclosure is not made to shock proof the drive, but to make the drive usable. To me, that was totally worth the small investment. |

I bought this masscool hdd enclosure for my laptop who's monitor burned out. Sony asked for 1000 to fix the monitor, or 200 to recover the files. I said screw that and bought this awseome masscool enclosure. i simply opened the laptop, took the hdd out, and but it in the enclosure. Easy as that. I recovered all my files in less than seconds. Great Job Masscool |

I have been using this enclosure for a HDD pulled out of an old laptop for 2 1/2 years. It's not the fastest nor the nicest enclosure but it does it's job. Great if you just need to make a 2.5'' Hard Drive external. I have not had any problems. |

Bought this to recover data from old drive. The case does cool okay but it is a data destroyer to quote other reviews. It worked for 10 mins until I tried to transfer some data and then it failed. Once in a while it will work okay. The IDE connector is very flimsy and the USB port is cheap and hardly works as well. Save your money and a headache and get something better like the vantec or something. Also, the HDD just flops around inside the case making it much more susceptible to damage. |

Works as expected. Aluminum case is thin, but acceptable. Reasonable transfers rates. Gooad deal at $10. I would probably spend a few extra dollars on a higher quality model, but this does everything it is advertised to do. |

Looks like I'm the first to describe what a piece this thing is. It destroyed two working hard drives. I accidentally broke my other enclosure and purchased this cheap thing. Well, you get what you pay for. I have lost 5 years worth of professional files due to this ''device.'' It should have a different name. I suggest the corruptor, because that's what it does to drives. |

I bought this when it was $10 for a Fujitsu 40 GB drive, and it is fantastic. The red activity light changes to green when accessed, and the USB cable is adequately long. It runs cool and I rate this a bit higher than the Black Xtatix XCA-PD2 2.5'' USB 2.0 Hard Drive Enclosure, which is still $10 because its red light only flickers with activity, and the USB cable is a bit short. |

Help Help 1.Recently got this enclosure. i can see all my folders and files names when connected to my old Toshiba hard drive of 40gb. But i CANNOT open any of the files. ''It says access denied''. Please help. 2.I dont know if i am connecting it wrong. i dont know what to do with the third USB port(the cable supplied had 3 USB ports). Please help |

The first one I got flashed briefly then I smelled something burning and my USB ports were fried. The replacement worked just fine but wasn't worth having to replace my motherboard. |

Great! USB powered, compact, very nice. I used it to ghost my wifes laptop drive and it worked perfectly. Very good deal. Made the mistake of setting up a new HDD at work and had to fiddle through windows 2000 instead of XP at home. The documentation did help. |

Excellent Product... You need 2 USB ports in order for the device to work, but not a big deal considering the fact that you don't need to plug it into AC power or anything like that to powerup the device. Works quite and doesn't heat up too much.. And for the price, you can't go wrong! Great Product! By the way, my led isn't blue, it's green/red |

First off this product arrived very quickly, much quicker than I expected. Good Work TigerDirect !!! After taking off the side rails from the Hard Drive and the removable aluminium cover, the drive fits easily into case, even with the spacer on the one side. I recommend, popping off the other side first , fit that on the drive, then slide the entire drive and end into case, then push the connector end into top carefully aligning the plug end and then screw the case together. |
