First look at the box, the size is not what I expected. Small in comparison w. others, even though the pics give you the impression you would purchase a monster cooler. Installed it. Problem! It doesn't fit over my Corsair Dominator. Turned it around w. exhaust towards the top. Doesn't fit over the chipset hsink on the X58 E760. Give it another try and install it w. the exhaust towards the front, since now I am curious how well it cools. Boot up the system and happy to see the proc sitting idle at 27-28C. Install OCCT and run stress test for 30 min - proc jumps up to a constant 60C. There goes my plan to OC my proc with this cooler. And one other thing, installing this is a real PITA. Difficult to tighten the heatsink on (screws should be on back side of mobo), and the springs positioning make it hard to tighten the screws. Will return asap, purchasing a Zalman Extreme.

I purchased one of these and mounted it on an MSI X58 with an i7 920. My temp went from 97 degrees F to 58! I've purchased a second and put it on an EVGA X58 Classified with an i7 980X and it's also running very cool. I had to mount it sideways on the EVGA board, but it does not appear to affect performance. And, these are quiet! Much quieter than the improved stock Intel fan that comes with the 980X.

I got an P5W MB stock cooler on my QX6850 had it running around 80C, way too high. Got this to replace it. First unit was malfunctioning (constantly beeping) turns out that one of the wires was loose (Ultra customer support had no idea why, told me they have to contact the designing engineer). Took it back to exchanged no problem. Now if not hooked up it cooled my CPU down to 55C (that's without power hooked up), with power hooked up, aside from the annoying blue light from the fan, chip under full load has not gone over 28C so far. NOTE: This installation requires MB to be removed, also it is a good idea to check for room around CPU. This cooler is BIG, if you have any memory sticks with coolers or a separate cooler for memory it may not fit. Value for the money only 4 (it's not cheap) however compared to other cooling systems it may be a bargain. Features a 5 for being PnP. Quality 4 (first unit was defective) and finally performance a 5 it does its job well.

My stock fan idled at 50 celcius, but with this cooler my temp readings are down to 43 celcius full load so I'm happy with my purchase, although the price is a little high

It seems like a great idea for a cooler when you read the specs, but in reality it doesn't live up to the hype. It was only 3 degrees celcius cooler than the stock fan that came with my processor. I thought for sure that something wasn't right, so I've reseated it about 7 times now. I used the cooler on a different processor, with different airflow strategies, in different cases, and with different thermal materials all with the same results. The best it would do is idle at 41c and 64c under full load. I've even used temp probes to verify that the TEC plate is working. I guess the downfall of the TEC cooler is even though the plate is capable of less that room temp cooling, there is a hot side to it as well. While the hot and cool heat fins are independent, they are still touching each other. Or, maybe I was just unlucky and got a bad unit. Either way it goes, I'm tired of messing with this junk. I ordered a cheaper h50 and peak at 53c under prime torture.

Right out of the box this wasn't able to connect properly to my system. The face plate was of center and didn't allow two of the extension clips for the 775 to connect. I had to clip the corners off to get them to fit (thick metal clips mind you)! No way was I going to return it after paying $35 for express delivery. I bought this along with the motherboard so I cant compare the difference but as it is right now I idle at 33C which is the lowest that Iv ever seen any of my computers run at. I have very mixed feelings about this product but I think Ill be happy with it after awhile.

Out of the box looked awesome to the max. Idle temps were about 3C higher than my Core92 with an extra fan strapped on (27C). Now that would be OK but the TEC was definitely not working. Under Prime95 load core temps rocketed to 90C -- definite abort. Tried reinstall, different paste, and even a bigger power supply -- no go. Temps again zoomed to 90C. RMA'd and back to Tiger. Still debating on whether to try another or go some other route. It isn't really that large and is about right for my case -- I'm just leary of the TEC control -- If it isn't working right it'll interfere with the standard heat pipe cooling ability. Maybe I'll try another one after all. The Peltier should be able to handle the heat of my Q6700 with less fuss than H2O

This was my second build and my second Ultra Chilltec cooler. I have my Intel i7 920 overclocked to 4.03 & it's running cool. My future 3rd build will have the same cooler.

Ok, well I bought this a few weeks ago, and set it up with i7 920 with the thermal compound that comes with the chilltec. Idled at around 40c, And it could not handle overclocking at all. I replaced the thermal compound with Ultra Thermal Gel and it took it down to 35c. Hooked up the Corsair H50 and idle at 23c OC to 3.5. Then I hooked up the Chilltec to my old computer running a amd athlon II 2.90 ghz with ultra Thermal Gel, and it idled at 29c. So overall its a good product, just get something better (and cheaper) if your building i7.

When i got this product the casing on it seemed loose but i didn't think anything of it but when i got it all hooked up and turned on my temps would go to 60c or above and the fan wouldn't even move as the temps went up. I gave up trying to fix it and just took it to your company and got the corsair h50 instead and love it.

First I will rate the starts I gave it. Value 5 I gave out 5 for value because this cooler does the job of my old liquid cooler, but way better. keeps my CPU stock clock between 20 and 25 Celsius. Features 4 I only gave 4 stars for features as I would like to see some form of display and a manual override control. At least in the form of software monitoring. Quality 5 The install was easy and the product was well built. The only room I see for improvement would be the finger screws to attach it to the socket. The screws are in an awkward position. Maybe a specialized screw that you have the option to use a wrench on. I had trouble getting my fingers on the screws with the north bridge location on my board. Performance 4 Again I would like to see some sort of hardware or software monitor or control for this device. Other thoughts For the price of this system you can get a basic liquid cooler, but the liquid cooler would do half the job.

This item is so advanced compared to all the other CPU coolers out there. Get this and you will not be dissapointed. This has lowered my CPU temp alot and can't complain of the quality.

My AMD x4 965 (140watt version) at full load made this thing howl. Too loud for use in an office setting. When fan speed was reduced to 50% noise was good, but CPU temps rose to 69c. That 7c above a safe temp for this processor. Very disappointed!

This is truly an awesome fan, I have the original Chilltec and while great because it had the controller, it sucked that I couldn't put it in my large home theater system. Now that Ultra has integrated the controller into the cooler itself it is a little more efficient for overclocking while keeping the noise down. That being said, like the review before me said, it is Huge so take note of your motherboard layout. It is a mostly straightforward unit with everything you need out of the box. I am running this baby on my Core I7 and loving it.

Do not let the small picture fool you. This thing is HUGE! It is not compatible with the MSI NF980-G65 Motherboard unless you want to drill out the threads on the CPU cooler backplate. That is what I had to end up doing. The directions and performance are simply AMAZING!Make sure you AT LEAST have a 500W power supply if you get this. I acually bent the bracket the first time because I was trying to mod it to work with my mobo. I called and they sent me a new one for free without any questions. Customer service was GREAT! I still laugh about how big it is because I didnt expect it!
