I bought this device to complement my Asus RT-AC68U as the internal wireless card only supports 2.4GHZ.Installation was quick and easy.The wireless speed increased from 80Mpbs to 290Mbps. Now, I can transfer files much more quickly and the internet is much more responsive.My router is dual band as it transmits on the 2.4 and 5 GHz band at the same time. This adapter is dual band but can only connect to one band at a time. I believe that all adapters have this limitation.I use my laptop to listen to internet radio and I have noticed some random cut-offs. This is very annoying and I hope that I will be able to fix this. |

for the past 2months. I have been downloading and gaming on many different games. I leave my computer on all the time.Game pings are very good.Download speeds are very good.The directional antenna that it comes with is sweet too.This model is the only usb 3.0 model on the market from asus.I am very happy with my purchase. I got this because i'm running an SLI setup and have no room on the mother board to connect a wireless card.the AC format is the newest technology in wireless devices. it is easily 3x fast and stronger signal strength. I have full signal bar strength all the time. and i'm at furthest point of my house. other wireless cards that I test at the same distants never have full signal strength I couldn't be happier.This is a must have if you want the best in USB 3.0 Wireless.make sure the pair it up with a AC compatible modem. :P This review was modfied by poster @ 12-11-13 05:17 PM |
This wifi adapter works great so far - I had a couple hiccups at first where it wouldn't connect properly after booting up, but after a day and multiple restarts/cold boots it hasn't had any more issues. Hopefully it won't get any in the future.The speeds this adapter is capable of is fantastic - way better than others I've tried.For the price, if you have an AC router then this adapter is more than worth the money.
