Will operate with limited applications... Will only perform with restricted applications... I bought this thinking of locating a G19 keyboard 100ft away so i can have a gaming screen on my 67 inch HD Television. Even so following trying this thought out the keyboard connects and disconnects each and every 30 seconds or so. I tried the connector with a 5ft test cable with identical final results. DO NOT Acquire THIS for any advanced application. It will not work.

Affordable This think broke inside a week. The USB connector quickly pulled out of the housing. This revealed that the cable was poorly soldered onto the pins of the connector.

This unit works extremely nicely for USB 1. devices. I use it for my logitech wave mouse and keyboard combo. Its running through a 100ft cat6 cable. For the price tag it's a excellent deal, other devices sell for higher costs but I think they are mostly USB1.. None at all, functions as described. I did connect USB2. devices and they connect and 'work', but windows does pop up and say the typical 'this device will operate quicker if connected to a usb2. port'.

- Extends devices as described and auto detected appropriately on the very first try - It says it is USB two., but I'm burning my first DVD on it at 16x and I'm at 53% in 31ᚨ minutes.. doesn't sound like USB 2. to me - I'm operating CAT6 plenum cable to this issue so I can't think about the network cable getting the bottleneck. I will need to test a lot more and do some investigation but so far this issue would be fine for a net cam, mouse, or other USB 1 device.. but no way for external difficult drives, cd burning, or film streaming.. painfully slow!

You can connect a usb 2. device... ...on the other hand it's not two.. It's 1. haha. they fooled me. i kept the darn issue anyway due to the fact it nevertheless serves a objective from what i am attempting to do. just don't anticipate 2. speeds.

Performs as created for USB 1.X devices. I tested with a mouse, keyboard, and a X10 Active Residence Pro control module. The x10 module is in my basement close to the circuit breaker box and my server is on the second floor. X10 control modules must always be positioned close to the breaker box to maximize signal strength more than electrical wires. Between which I have about 75' of CAT 6 UTP with patch panel connections at each ends. I see a strong connection when uploading code to the X10 module (the most aggressive activity more than this connection). Also my Windows server for my X10 house handle network reside inside a VM on my server, and I showed no incompatiblity with redirecting the USB port to the Windows Server VM. If my setup performs, I suspect a significantly less complicated setup will perform. I did not require a powered USB hub at the far finish of the cable, but that may possibly be since the X10 module is powered. I'm impressed. Newegg was not the lowest cost by a important margin. Although I am a dedicated consumer due to the fact of the service Newegg delivers, I could not justify the added price due to the considerable distinction and went with a different vendor. For my purposes, worth the cost either way. This saves me from possessing a small lightly utilised server in my basement just to upload code to a USB device. A 75' USB cable behind my walls, unreal! =)

It performs! There's certainly a power issue so if you are working with a usb device requiring energy you need to use a usb hub to energy it. I plugged it into the personal computer and I am using a hub on the receiver side. The personal computer recognized the hub and then recognized the wireless keyboard/mouse I plugged into it. It is only usb 1 but that's all I necessary for it. Still working with a cat 5e 50' cable. The hub I'm using is a usb two. hub but again it only performs at usb 1 speeds. Only USB 1 compliant.

It operate and does extend USB. Its USB 1 and if your arranging on using it for rapidly data transfer you'll be upset. I guess Newegg has decided that if you omit USB description then you must assume its USB 1. Lesson learned Ill inquire if its USB two ahead of shopping for next time. I purchased this to extend the connection between my Cannon and my Laptop by way of DSLR PRo so the session producer could see the shots in real time. Needless to say it couldnt do that job.

Worked beneath Vista 64 as expected with Cat6 50' cable. No noticeable lag with 300 dpi mouse and keyboard. I got the "not enough bus power" error originally when I had tried to run both mouse and keyboard together (via the keyboard's USB jack.) Only one or the other would perform at one time. Employing a 4-port powered USB two. hub at this end fixed every little thing correct up. Will be hoping for the exact same final results on Windows 7 with 75' of cable in the subsequent handful of days.

Operates perfectly at 12Mb/s for mouse, keyboard and flash drives. Usb 2. devices do work but at slower speeds. Operates excellent for remoting cpu's to an additional area or storage closet. none Requires powered usb hub for running transportable challenging drives and printers which require power. There are Usb two. extenders obtainable, but at 跾+, this a single functions excellent.

None Tried two different Vista 64 computers and three Cat5 cords, with optical mouse (very low energy draw). Plugging into a working USB port would not work. LED lit up on the pc side but not the remote side. Had a operating extender for a couple of years, but it gave up the ghost lately. For a living area HTPC with pc in the basement.

Functions nicely with keyboard and mouse chainloaded together. I am making use of this with a backlit gaming keyboard and no issues with speed or backlighting. As soon as you plug in a USB 2. device, you can the "this device can run quicker, for a list of accessible USB...." message. I am working with Cat 6 cable. Otherwise, delivers extreme USB extension lengths where needed. Does not supply full two. speed, but works rapidly sufficient for most jobs.

Newegg reviewers pretty significantly hit the mark-- it stinks. Couldn't get an HP printer to work across this and a 25 ft Cat6 cable in any stable fashion. USB two. wouldn't function at all. Zero documentation outlining what parameters the unit will function under. Lots of sell, not a lot delivery.

Worked for about 30 seconds Attached via 50' cat 5e cable to new pc running vista 64. Plugged into 4 hub usb on pc side. Working with ms wireless mouse/keyboard. It recognized and worked for about 30 seconds. Then stopped. Went to basement to check computer system and windows had message indicating that USB failed to recognize. Tried plugging in diverse ports with no luck. Will attempt USB Hub on each sides to help the possible energy issue. Will attempt short cat5 to test if works. Will obtain 50' cat 6 and attempt that. Will post results. Hoping my upgrade to windows7 in a couple of weeks will solve all.

I am very happy with this unit. I live in a rural area with very limited options for high speed internet. I used this product to extend a USB Wireless Internet Stick to a basement window where there we could get a signal. The house is new and is wrapped in an insulated foam and foil barrier that seems to impact wireless signals. This provides with high speed internet without the high cost of satellite etc. LOVE IT!
