Cons: Like many rf usb devices they stick out a fair way - risk of snapping off on a notebook/netbook.

Got mine on sale at $13 which was a great price. They work as advertised. One warning on Ubuntu (and perhaps other Linux systems) you get traffic of only a few Mbps - this is not the fault of this specific device - afaik it is a common problem with high speed WiFi on Ubuntu. |

Bought on sale for under 20$.Didn't expect to perform that great, but it works awesome. I used it with win XP 32 and win 7 64. In the basement, I could "see" networks that I would not normally be able to pick up with a USB-Wifi adapter.I had issue using the bundled software with the first computer I used it with, but then by just using the drivers included on the cd, everything worked great. |
I bought this for my old win xp desktop when the LAN port died. It worked right away. When the desktop was fixed and I wanted to use it on a win 7 x64 laptop, it would not connect. After many trials finally I had to uninstall the AVG antivirus and Zonealarm firewall, install the drivers, configured the adapter, then reinstall AVG and Zonealarm. Installing in safe mode and disabling AVG/ZA did not work for me. I had to uninstall AVG/ZA to get it to work.It may just be my laptop but I am throwing this out there if anyone runs into similar situation.
