Cons: 3ft usb cable

Pros: 5V 2A & 12V 2A power output, two prong power plug, drive data interface adaptor is only 1IN x 2IN x 1CM in dimensions, compatible wiht both IDE PATA & SATA drives, One Touch Backup button, runs a DVD-ROM drive just fine. Very competitive price. Packaging is a nice small perfectly fitting cardboard box making it very ecologically responsible. Smoothly fast adaptor, installed 300MB of software off an IDE PATA DVD-ROM in seconds plugged via this adaptor.

I know the PCB bridge boards literally can be this small but I've only seen internally kept adaptors kept this small, never an external unit. Due to its size this unit is ultra portable, it's like the size of a large keychain weight. This review was modfied by poster @ 09-06-10 08:55 AM

Cons: - No eSATA- Modularity of the product could lead to broken connectors or displaced key cabling

Pros: - Works as intended (USB to SATA)- Modular (perhaps its weakness as well)- Small;does not take up lot of space
Comment:
Prior to purchasing the product, I did have some reservation about the functionality and durability of the product. Overall I have not been disappointed. It's a nice product, works as intended. Great for home and small business use and it's portable; but, makes sure you keep track of all the cabling.

Cons: None to this point

Pros: Very well priced for what it can do.
Comment:
This is a very inexpensive product for what it does. It works well with ide and sata drives. I have not tried the backup feature as I have other backup programs that I use but I can now access all of my old hard drives without a more expensive docking station and it is completely portable.

Cons: - Not exactly as pictured

Pros: - Higher quality than the competition
Comment:
This device works as advertised -- aside from one thing. The specs on this site say the power supply has an on/off button. It does not. The pictures on this site, as well has Kingwin's own website, are also not quite accurate. The SATA power adapter is not exactly as shown, instead it has exposed (four colored insulation not bare copper) wires on the molex end. It almost looks like they forgot to add the strain relief on that end, or at least a small piece of heat shrink tubing.

Cons: IDE broke after some month of useNo support from Manufacturer

Pros: Easy connection to hard driveCompatibility with all hard drives
Comment:
I buy that good adapter, but after some IDE hard drive connections (like 12) in something like 5 months, the IDE don't work at all.SATA work properly, but I buy that adapter to connect IDE drives....then I cannot anymore.

I've been using this for 3 months and I have used it dozens of times now. So far it has worked on EVERY hard drive I've hooked it up to. Maybe the other reviewer needs to re-examine his methods. The Data transfer is fast and hookup couldn't be easier. This is one truly awesome all in one HDD to USB cable!

The removable USB cable makes it easy to fit into my toolbox. I have used this converter with 3.5'' EIDE and SATA3 drives. A major problem is the 100ma power supply that is included is not large enough to start most of my 3.5'' hard drives. Works fine if the drives are powered from the PC.

Cons: Price

Pros: Ease of use
Comment:
I say price is a weakness just because it seems expensive for what is basically an adaptor. However, it's good quality and it's going to save me a TON of time down the road. So far I used it to retrieve files off a drive that wouldn't boot and it worked very well.

Cons: Only worked on one hdd for me. A 4 Gig ATA HDD.SATA 160 gig - no goEIDE 60 gig - no goEIDE 30 Gig - no goCableing is a little bulky, and the USB Cable is a little short.

Pros: Flexability. Can use the Molex power to test/run fans.
Comment:
I ordered this so I could transfer data from one computer to another useing old hdd's I had kickin around. Networking to transfer just a few files is a pain, and I needed more space then my 2 gig USB memory key could give me. So I ordered this. Purolator attemted delivery the next day. I've tried this on several hdds, and it just will not work. I've tried it on my desktop running XP and my laptop useing VISTA. Only the one drive worked. I should have read other reviews on other sites. I'll try this with my next new hdd, but as for all the ones I have currently, it's a no go.If you are looking at this for a similar use, I'd Recomend just buying an external HDD enclosure. may be more expensive and not as flexible, but it'll work.EDIT: I'm trying to give this a one star review, but the Order # confirmation will not take the invoice number I have. To Clarify. I Rate this a 1 Star Completely Unsatisfactory

Cons: The USB cable could be a bit longer.

Pros: Very handy, works with ATA and SATA devices and it is very compact.
Comment:
This is a great device to have when backing up drives from laptop or desktop computers and you don't have to worry about opening up cases and setting them up as secondary drives and such. It's also handy if you have a few hard drives lying around and you just need to find out what is on them. It even works on CD/DVD drives so they can become a temporary external burner. It's a very handy device. For my use the USB mini cable is a bit short but I just used an USB extension cable to fix that.
