For the price, compared to other color dbl sided biz card scanners... it works fantastic. Out of 20 cards I had to edit about 15 but it did not take long to do because there is a great cut and paste OCR. I don't have to re-type anything, I just cut and paste from the image to Outlook. |

I have used different software, hardware and tactics to get the business cards into my outlook etc. I am very impressed with both the speed and quality this product delivered. It was really worth the money. |

This version does NOT OCR convert any language except English (Iriscard Pro 4). I found out that it does not OCR Asian languages. You have to buy a different version for that. The description is a bit misleading saying it supports 217 languages. If this is true, Egyptian Hieroglyphics are supported too, as long as there is some English in there too. There are a number of languages supported in the user interface. This only means parts of the program (i.e. drop down menus, etc) are in that language. The software is ok. It works ok but a bit clunky. |

I honestly would've never thought about a separate scanner just for your business cards, but I was thoroughly impressed after finally receiving my IRISCard. It was a very easy set up process. And it was very easy to you, and I am not the most technically savvy person. I was able to scan the 500+ cards that I had collected over the past year in barely no time at all. I recommend this product to anybody. It has been a big help for me in organization and decluttering! |

I had a Card Scan reader for years (600C I believe) and it worked very well (as I see now) although it was probably 6 years old. I would look for updates to the software and there were none available even though Windows software was changing. During one move or another I somehow mannaged to dame it so I needed to replace it and I decided to go with the Iris unit. This was based on these reviews but boy what a mistake! I think the recognition software is awful, far inferior to my Card Scan unit. The hrware is fine but the software, YUK! I spend as much time altering or addding missed information than I would entering it from scratch. Even on simple cards...terrible. I cannot return it so I am told so take my advice, DO NOT BUY THIS! Go with Card Scan it's software is much better. |

Fast, very fast! This really is a clever tool. Highly recommended to anyone with more than 50 business cards. The time you would spend typing that many cards makes it a no-brainer-gotta-have-it product to me. You plug it in, scan cards into the software, it recognizes the information and you export to Outlook. What's really fun is that you have the actual scanned image of the cards in your Outlook contacts so you can refer to them later, if need be. How cool is that? |
I think the Iriscard Pro 4 is pretty good for its price. The software is easy to use and very visual. The speed of the scanner is acceptable. My issue is with the accuracy of the scanning. There are many business cards that it can NOT correctly interpret -- cards with dark background colors, company names that are part of the company logo, etc. I have to edit some amount of the card content about 70 percent of the time. Now, this is still faster than data entry without the scanning and I have a nice image of the card front & back. Just wish it were MORE accurate!
