When I moved into my new apartment I had a big wall and a 46" TV so I decided to try and setup a projector. Pretty much everything I need to say I've said in the Pros area. If you've got a big wall and don't feel like spending more than $1700 (screen included) for a new home theater projector then this is the one to get. |
Needed a native 1080p projector to throw an image across a room onto the opposing wall. Most budget projectors for some reason are setup for short throws with the projector sitting only a few feet from the wall, and at any appreciable distance suddenly have a picture size of 10x the size of the wall itself.This unit had enough zoom to be able to project nicely on the far wall at a decent distance.The projector is very bright and provides ample picture even in an ambient lit daytime room.The lens shift is a nice feature and makes placing the picture very easy. The dials though for the lens shift are manual and a have a bit of play, making very fine adjustments a bit annoying.Further, the focus is handled by spinning the lens, which spins very easily. This wouldn't be a problem except when you go to take the lens cap off. It's fairly tight and it's impossible to not cause the lens to spin out of focus while taking it off.In the end, I am definitely happy with this projector.
