Nice seeking, feels a bit additional sturdy than most lower finish solutions. It fits the Mini-ITX exceptionally nicely. Power provide is quiet, and the aesthetics are good. Also like the rubber feet that you can either location on the bottom or side of the chassis. Thermaltake for the most element makes quite good solutions. Even though it fits the ITX very nicely, it is a quite tight match for other components such as the three.5" bay exactly where the challenging drive is. Make confident you order or have suitable angled SATA cables if you are planning on carrying out and 3.5" drive. Power supply comes out over the motherboard a lot more than I would have liked, nevertheless its reasonable functioning space. Do not use RAM with massive heat sinks otherwise this will case an concern with your cabling to the front of the machine. Wish they would have added some ventilation to the top rated of the case as well, but my program nevertheless stays somewhat cool.Specs:GIGABYTE GA-D525TUD Intel Atom D525 @ 1.8Ghz4GB GeiL DDR3320GB Really hard DriveAsus-DVD-RW DriveWireless-N+ Card (For the a single PCI slot I had readily available)

Good and smaller. Good fit and finishWanted to replace my aging "homebrew" server produced from what was at 1 time an eMachines t3025. Replaced...well anything in it except the case. It was major and a energy hog so time to upgrade and downsize. The PSU is 220 watt. Fine for what I am performing which is employing this as a NAS and print server box. My WD External HDD's died so price just as substantially to make a far more flexible "External HDD". Oh, it's metal not plastic BTW. Since I had it I figured I throw in a CD/DVD drive. With it installed it is far also tight inside to get substantially of any airflow so out it goes. Speaking of airflow...there is none...I mean none. The PSU does not enable matters as it exhausts correct onto the motherboard. Flipped it more than and reduce a vent hole which aids. Now I have to install fans as my temps are still far also high on the two 750GB HDD's for my taste. High 30's to mid 40's @ idle...yiikes! 20's are what my 1200 runs...beneath load. The MB is @ 38C. This is WITH crossflow fans installed. BUT the Atom at idle I have gotten down to 13-15C. I guess It isn't so negative as I like a challenge...and customizing circumstances but some plug and play is nice also. So my Sunday will be productive producing this case coooool AND quiet... If you are getting this for say an HTPC I believe it is as well tight inside for sufficient airflow if you strategy on employing a DVD/Bluray drive. If not, it's a wonderful small case for HDD's if you add the correct ventilation. 3 stars due to the PSU fan situation and tiny to no ventilation stock.

This is Virtually identical to the AP*X MI-008 case. Thermaltake created two quite critical improvements nevertheless, turning this into a incredibly capable mini ITX gaming box.Very first, there is a reset button on the front panel, which the MI-008 does not have. I own the MI-008, and necessary to drill and mount my own.Second, and most importantly, the DVD drive sits flush with the front of the case, when the MI-008 case does not. This is critical due to the fact you now have enough clearance to match the Seasonic 350w SFX power supply (Item#N82E16817151063) in this case, along with a 90° angle SATA cable for the DVD drive. That makes it possible for you to use a higher-finish CPU and GPU and nonetheless get reputable 80% effective power.I know this functions, because my APEX MI-008 with the Seasonic functions at a lovely 150w complete load with an OC'd E5200 and 9600GT. Immediately after cutting an added vent in the case above the video card and mounting two 80mm fans on the opposite side, there is a lot of cooling to go around! There isn't a good place to mount a three.5" hard drive if you want to use the external 3.five" bay for a card reader. To remedy this, just location the really hard drive -beneath- the external 3.five" bay, drill 4 mounting holes in the bottom of the case, and screw in the hard drive.Once again, this is what I did in my MI-008 case, and my WD Black 640GB is chugging happily away at 32°C. I had to take a LOT of extra time modifying my MI-008 case to fit my parts and get a reset button on it, and this Thermaltake case does all of that out of the box. If you get inventive with mounting your components, you can match a lot of stuff in here with no cooling problems. My elements:Zotac 9300 ITXSound Blaster X-Fi Surround five.1 USBC2D E5200 @ three.2GHz - 33°C Idle, 68°C Load (ㅪ° gaming)WD Black 640GB - < 35°C at all instancesBFG GeForce 9600GT - 51°C Idle, 72° LoadSeasonic 350W SFX PSU75w Idle, 150w Load (gaming)Tested with Kill-A-Watt meter.Note: I needed to make a custom exhaust vent for my 9600GT mainly because it blows exhaust towards the front of the case, but if you get a card that blows exhaust towards the back of the case and merely cut a vent above the card for the exhaust to blow out, your video card will run inside spec temps.

Incredibly function filled, strong case style. Cable management is disastrous.Incorporated power supplies ATX connector is seriously excessively extended, forcing a lot of excess cabling.Hard drive bay placement is awful. The sata energy cable runs into CPU fan, had to rig the bay and optical drive to steer clear of interference. On Hitachi terabyte, would not match next to optical drive at all, expected bending the bay to match.HD screwholes on appropriate side of case did not line up with hard drive.PCIex slot has metal hinging that blocked part of HDMI output from graphics card.PSU rests actually significantly less than 1mm above stock intel heatsink.Color of case does not match any optical drive bezel I have located, glossy or matte. The only saving grace for this case is that its packed with tons of capabilities. It is a massive discomfort in the neck to perform on, cable management is horrendous and the included PSU adds to the issue. The hard drive mounting problems are inexcusable and lazy. After you have rigged the machine up, it performs great. But obtaining it to the point of operating is an excessively irritating chore. For employing PCIex gpu, toss the dice and see if the hinge blocks your port. I commonly adore thermaltake craftsmanship, but this was definitely released way also early. If you get this, I would definitely advise employing a two.five" tough drive to steer clear of all the challenges standard 3.5" really hard drives generate here.

+ good matte finish, appears sturdy+ energy provide is surprisingly quiet, even at load+ area for both a five.25" and a three.five", which is difficult to come across in miniITX situations+ soft rubber feet+ simple assembly, mainly uncomplicated access to mobo screws - energy provide sits flush on prime of a stock intel cooler and creates a noisy fight for airflow- tight fit for a 3.5" drive (had to bend the SATA cable additional than I'd like) Right after I swapped the stock Intel HSF for a low profile silverstone NT07, the noise level dropped to a extremely pleasant hush. To stay away from re-entry of exhaust air, I taped off a rearward vent.gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3core i3-540gskill eco RAMOCZ agility 2patriot convoy

Effectively constructed case and it's great for somebody who doesn't need to have a discrete graphics remedy or a HTPC. The style is uncomplicated and the LEDs on the front aren't insanely vibrant. I built this comp for my mother and she was blown away by the size and speed of it.Elements in the methodIntel LGA1156 H57 moboCore i3 530(w stock coolerƞgb ddr3 1600(running at 1333 with tight timings)OCZ Vertex 60gbWindows 7 64-bit Only 2 cons I can assume of. The clearance amongst the stock intel cooler and PSU may well be a bit close for some folks. It is just about resting on the cooler. It's close enough that when you hold a flash light on the other side light just creeps through the gap.The wires for the front panel can be a bit brief. The connectors on this mobo are in the back so I had to pop off the front panel and re route them. Not genuinely a con just my only hiccup in the develop. Things are actually a tight match and if you use a tiny patience and preparing the construct goes quickly. The PSU does have to come out for the set up and placing it it back in is a small difficult due to wire routing. It might take a couple of tries but it looks decent once together. You can keep away from a bird's nest in your case if you attempt. This box subsequent to my Coolermaster 690 is kind of funny, i'll surely be pursuing ITX for my next develop.I threw a 80mm fan on rubber screws in the left side and it cooled factors down a bit. CPU idles at 26 C and loads at 50 C.

Size, Top quality, powersupply, low noise, made for ITX The only con is placing in a massive really hard drive that is inheritantly thicker than other folks. The spot in the case for the tough drive is about 1Ǟ" too brief and I had to force it beneath the DVD drive to make it match. This causes a bit of vibration but nonetheless a good case general.

Case appears sturdy and properly built, but make confident to study the cons and my other thoughts beneath, as I didn't get a genuine likelihood to even use this case due to it's design and style flaws.I knocked it down to three eggs due to this. Neglect making use of this on something that requires a Actual heatsink and fan, which consists of any type of Athlon, AM2, AM3 ITX board set up. I attempted employing a Silenx Low Profile cooler that is specifically for HTPC and instances like this one particular, with a Zotac AM2 board, and because of how the power provide is mounted Right ABOVE where it would be at, you can forget about working with such a board on this. Bascially if the power supply was mounted vertically on the side, it would have match, and this would have been a fine case.Pretty much strictly an INTEL only case is what this comes down to, which limits you to utilizing a direct chip mounted fan, or limited to an ATOM Intel board that does fanless cooling. Picked this one particular up to make a method for an individual else due to the fact I had been eyeing it for myself, for a future ITX make, and figured it would operate for what I was undertaking. It ended up not even functioning for what I wanted to do for them, so I can neglect something for myself, as I would run into the exact same problems with an AM3 chip setup.Disappointing too, simply because honestly, other than this significant style flaw, I liked the appear and size of the case. When again, if the power provide was mounted vertically or elsewhere (NOT above the board), it would have likely been great.

Easy to route cables. Great finish. Accepts a single full height card. No fan in this case except the one in the power supply so airflow is nil inside. Count on your create to run hot and choose components accordingly. There is no area for a fan in the situation, but it doesn't look as well weird with a 120mm fan fastened to the outide. This makes a big difference in the operating temps.

Cons: Not actively cooled... you may have to do a bit of modding to get a decent fan in there. Not a lot of room for custom coolers... the PSU gets in the way.

Pros: Power supply included. Not too big, not too small.
Comment:
I bought this originally for a basic low power Linux box. Based on that need, it has served its purpose quite well. (ASUS H61 Mini-ITX board, Pentium Dual Core G620T, SSD)However, if you want something a bit more mainstream like a i5 or i7 and want to OC it and run a full sized 2 slot video card, then this is not the case for you. Not only is the power supply rather underrated for a lot of mainstream applications, there are very few replacement options available if you want to swap it out. This case also does not support a double slot video card... single slot only.As stated in the Cons, I've noticed that even with a low power CPU, the case can get a little warm. Without a fan to circulate air inside, the warm air still gets trapped inside despite all of the vent holes on either side. However, this is still a pretty good, basic case that includes a power supply if you're looking for a something to build a low power system with.

I purchased this case to house my current HTPC make, and it's performing the job good so far. It is a little case so don't go attempting to cram a V8 CPU cooler in it, but for a light Atom based construct this thing is best! The power and tricky drive LEDs on the front aren't too vivid (the activity LED on my cd-rom drive dwarfs their brightness). Like some other reviewers have said, the psu becoming situated above the mobo produces somewhat of a tight fit for the cpu heatsink. Either look into the low profile silverstone cooler or go with a fanless selection like I did (see Other thoughts). The wiring is a bit short for the front panel USB ports and audio, if you're planning on adding a PCI card make certain its either small (like a x1 Tv tuner) or that your motherboard doesn't have these connections on the far side of the board, or this could trigger an challenge. I dropped an Asus AT3IONT motherboard into this case, and it fits fantastic. I place my difficult drive into the floppy bay (case consists of mounting points for a tricky drive in this configuration). In the tough drive bay I placed a 120mm Arctic Cooling AF12 case fan as an intake to blow over the CPU's heatsink. This configuration operates perfectly, but make confident you don't get RAM with these ridiculous heat diffusers on them, or you'll go through a complete tub of Crisco trying to fit them in!

Fantastic fit/finish. Accepts complete size drives. Comes with TT 220 watt energy supply (SL-B220SFX). Power provide fan almost silent. Got this on sale plus rebate and free shipping. Full retail price a little high. Search for this on sale. Decent size (about the size of a shoebox). All the power connecters you want for a case this size. This really comes with a 220W power supply (not 200). The PS fan is so quiet I thought it wasn't working at 1st.Installed an Intel D510MO motherboard, two GB DDR2 PC6400, and a 3.5 inch tough drive for a 24ǝ server. I was capable to install the motherboard without removing the power supply (use an offset screw driver). Temps seem pretty stable with just the energy supply fan, no added cooling. One particular factor to note, mounting a three.five tricky drive in the front three.5 bay worked, but the sata and energy connectors sat ideal on major of my memory (actually touching). I moved it to the five.25 bay so I have sufficient space in between all components.Routing all the cables was tricky, I utilized many nylon ties so the wiring does not touch any heatsyncs and so on. Would be a chore if you utilised all three drive bays, but the cables are extended enough to tuck points out of the way. All round met my expectations.

I've purchased three of these cases now and I program on purchasing one more. Wonderful for a smaller NAS or HTPC. Has plenty of airflow for fanless systems and the built in energy supply is quite quiet. Can be a bit of a hard fit for two HDD and an optical drive, just have someone about with tiny hands. Theres essentially room for an additional Ɠrd) 3.5" HDD if you do your cable management right. none make certain to get RAM with low profile heat spreaders, or no heat spreaders.

Wonderful tiny situation if you want to create a HTPC that holds two drives and is unobtrusive.Handled Atom processor, 2 WD Black HDD, and 1 BluRay drive without having complaining. Really Incredibly tight fit with all the cables in place. Replacing memory or a drive will mean disassembling the entire issue. I also couldn't get the tricky drive to fit appropriately beneath the five 1ǚ" bay. The screw connector holes seemed too low. It truly didn't matter because it was so jammed tight in there amongst the front and rear, that it was held in place by the cables and front cover. Power provide does not use Active PFC, so it's not as effective as it could be. This is a personal preference, but I didn't like red stripe around the front. It's too flashy for HTPC where you just want the components to blend in.

As the earlier reviewer stated, this case is almost identical to the Apex MI-008 situation (I've owned that situation also). It has a superior construction and doesn't really feel as flimsy. The Optical drive sits flush with the front bezel and provides far more space for cable management. Can get really hot. Try to location the challenging drive in the front three.5 bay so a 120mm fan can be placed on the side exactly where the difficult drive rails are. The fan snaps in spot like it belongs which supplies excellent cooling. I would suggest the Zalman Fan Mate two Controller (N82E16835118217) to aid eliminate noise. CPU heatsink clearance is really tight (expected) so heatsink possibilities are very limited. I opt for the SILVERSTONE NT07-775 CPU cooler (N82E16835220034).I have not utilised the powersupply so I can\'t comment on that. I went with the FSP Group FSP300-60GLS-MJR (N82E16817104044). I did have to open the PSU to flip the fan so it will correctly divert the air and not fight the fan on the CPU heatsink.Given that space is limited, I recommend using shorter 90 degree sata cables and zip tie any excess.Overall, yet another outstanding case from Thermaltake. My rig:Thermaltake Element Q MiniITX caseZotac 9300 Wifi MotherboardZotac 9800GT Video CardG.Ability 2x4GB RAMG.Skill 128GB Titan SSDIntel Q6600FSP Group FSP300-60GLS-MJR 300 watt 80+ Cert PSUSILVERSTONE NT07-775 90mm CPU Cooler
