Pros: Fast, quiet, cool
Comment:
I had an old HDD die on me and I needed to get a new one. I managed to get one of these SSDs and everything has been amazingly faster since. Unfortunately, I am currently only running it on SATA2. Everything still loads amazingly fast. I have nothing but positive things to say about these drives.

Cons: -None so far.

Pros: -Excellent performance.-Includes adaptor for install in 3.5 bay.
Comment:
I installed this drive in an older machine (Intel E8400 3.00Ghz). My MB only has SATA2 and this drive performs exceptionally well. I have to say installing a SSD is probably the one upgrade that will give the most gain in performance.

Picked this up for $159.99 after MIR. My PC is blazing fast. Can't comment on the reliability, I've only been running it for a day but works great so far.

This was a nice upgrade. Easy to install. It comes with a 3.5 inch tray which is a good thing (unlike a lot of other drives out there that just come bare).

Cons: Still pricey compared to Hard Drive Disk. Not enough for movies, pictures, etc.

Pros: Very fast.Good quantity of GB (enough for booting, games, applications, etc.)
Comment:
Bought it for $169.99, I use it for my gaming PC. The booting for windows 7 is soo fast, it takes approximately 20 seconds to achieve all the applications! Every PCs must have a Solid State Drive, Hard Drive Disk take too much time to boot.

Pros: Super Fast, and obviously makes no noise!
Comment:
Fast as hell, used it to replace my 1st gen Raptor, using it on SATA 1 right now. Different mounting screws then normal hard drive screws make it a pain to mount anywhere, even with the included adapter plate, have it hanging out of my case atm.

Pros: Amazing results with Win7 on the drive (be sure to disable prefetch and enable TRIM)
Comment:
my only side effect so far is not with the drive but rather with my platform having one hdd bay (laptop), alternatively you can install a 2nd hdd into the CD bay on most laptops, its called a OBHD (optical drive hard drive). It costs usually only 20 bucks or so and is easy to install.I would recommend this hard drive over the 120gb model because SSD's like to have a little bit of space to operate wellMy power consumption and heat on my laptop are now much lower and the speeds I am getting on boot ups are sub 20 sec's all and all a great upgrade for not much money considering these units were $400+ not long ago.

I spent $ 12 bucks more here (competitor had a better special)but their projected time of arrival would have been a week later and for an extra couple bucks i got free RMA shipping here(glad i didn't have to use it).It came with a 3.5" adapter and worked perfectly right out of the box.Benchmarked with ATTO right after installing Windows 7 and got 530MB/sec read and 480MB/sec write.

Cons: 3.5" adapter bracket does not fit standard 3.5" drive bay.Does not include a SATA cable.Mail-in rebate is annoying.

Pros: Fast.Shipped with latest firmware.Good value.
Comment:
I got this drive for $199.99 after $20 MIR on June 30, 2012. It also came with a $30 NCIX gift card, bringing the cost to $169.99 or about $0.70/GB before taxes, shipping, and formatting. Formatted capacity is around 223 GB, bringing total cost after promotional $5 shipping and13% Ontario HST to about $0.91/GB.Immediately, the drive's 3.5" mounting bracket is far too short and slightly too narrow to fit my standard 3.5" drive bay in my Antec P183 case, and the drive doesn't come with a SATA cable. I needed to buy these pieces separately after this discovery.Secondly, the MIR is annoying. You have to register on OCZ's site, print out a form, sign it, and mail it to them with the UPC and invoice. After 8-10 weeks you get an American Express card. Now onto the technical aspects of the drive. I installed Wndows 7 and Mac OS X onto two different partitions. Both OS's boot up very fast even on my SATA 2 motherboard (Asus P6T SE) and startup applications no longer take forever to load. I ran ATTO on Windows and Blackmagic Disk Speed Test on Mac OS X and both programs reported sequential reads and writes of over 270MB/sec which saturates my SATA 2 bandwidth. You can easily find SATA III benchmarks elsewhere on the net. The box states up to 550MB/sec read, 520MB/sec write, 60,000 IOPs on SATA III. The theoretical maximums are faster than the OCZ Vertex 3 120GB drive. The drive came with firmware 2.22 pre-installed which is the latest version as of this writing.Overall a great drive. The drive itself is 5-star but the full product loses a star due to the useless mounting bracket, lack of SATA cable and annoying MIR.

Cons: Drive failed after initial restore from disk

Pros: Good price for a 240 GB SSD
Comment:
I installed this drive in my MacBook, replacing my OCZ Vertex 2 120GB that I've been very happy with. After restoring I rebooted and the computer just froze. I booted back up with the recovery CD and went to try another restore but it wouldn't recognize the drive existed. Took it out and put the original 120GB back in, booted fine. Drive DOA. I had read tons of reviews saying these drives come DOA all the time but I ignored them all and ordered it anyways because of the good price. Well I got burned too.

Cons: BSOD once a week. OCZ site says not to flash firmware if this is your boot drive. Well it is my boot drive. I understand booting off a USB into linux is the best way to flash, but i have to backup 100gb of data

Pros: Fast. Although in real life unsure to determine how fast

Cons: As usual with SSD. High price and low capacity.

Pros: Blazing fast....what else...I forgot I had an HD in my computer since...
Comment:
Purchased HD 3 months ago. Im using ASUS P8P67 and Vertex 3 240Gb. I put the HD in a different computer and flashed to latest version 2.08 (3 months ago). Version 2.06 and/or 2.07 are was buggy version a lot of people had BSOD (Blue screen ) with. Fix came up with 2.08. Then put HD to AHCI mode on the ASUS P8P67, installed Windows 7 and flashed board. No problem at all since. Was looking for dual 120Gb in RAID0 but read I might have problem with TRIM and/or update  of the drive so I decided to get the 240 one (Which is faster than 120Gb version head to head). I can regret my choice. Setup is simpler (Not raid driver and raid0 problems) and I doubt I could see difference on RAID0. The drive is blazing fast and simply make you forget you have something slower than RAM on your computer !!! I will never be able to have an OS on HDD in the future.I also had fear concerning write cycle on SSD. It is less a problem if you have more free space and/or have bigger drive (120Gb vs 240Gb) since drive try to write on NAND that was less used before others. That been said in 3 months, I installed Windows 7, all my apps and Steam on which I downloaded around 8 games. SMART of drive report I wrote 266Gb on drive and read 437Gb in 3 months. NAND write cycle is reported to be 5000 write per NAND and common belief state 3000 write per NAND. Lets say I double up the amount I write per month and also half the value in 2 since I have static data that doesn't move on HD (OS, Apps, games)... - Vertex 3 is 223Gb formatted.- So I might write 266Gb X 2 per 3 months X 4 = 2128Gb per years. - 223Gb / 2(Static data) X 3000 write cycle = 334500Gb lifetime.- Lifetime / year usage = 157 years... The drive will last me 157. Have no fear.. write on your SSD !! Lol

Cons: BSOD (but found solution)

Pros: Fast, Fast, fast
Comment:
Was excited about getting this disk, but I would get the BSOD a few times a day. Called OCZ support - they said to send it back. But I thought it doubtful I got a bad one.So - I worked on it for two days. Finally found out that if instead of using the intel driver I went to the Microsoft disk driver - all the problems went away. Now I have been using it for two months and it has been rock solid. I don't know if I am giving up any performance by using the Microsoft HDD driver, but it is fast, and as I say, Rock solid now.BTW - the. Machine it is on is a i7 2600 (sandybridge)

Cons: Constant freezes and crashesRidiculous support situation

Pros: Speed is great when it works
Comment:
First off since I bought this in store I cannot give it a 1 star review as I had intended. It only takes a quick search for "Vertex 3 BSOD" to realize there is a large and as of yet unresolved problem with these drives.I bought mine on April 30 at the Vancouver store and soon after found that the drive would freeze and then require a power cycle to work again. This was with Firmware 2.02. With firmware 2.06 the machine doesn't freeze, it BSOD's and as well needs a power cycle to reset the SSD. The latest firmware 2.09 causes the drive to lag so much it is useless, and it certainly not the product that was promised when I bought it.I have tried the drive on 3 different motherboards and SATA controllers with the same results. I have re-installed Windows 7 several times to no avail. In my opinion the solutions offered by OCZ on their forums border on the ridiculous. The SSD that this replaced, and indeed any SATA drive I have ever used never required constant windows re-installs, secure erases or re-running of WEI.I hope OCZ can get these drives working to their full potential, as they would be formidable if they worked. As it is now with their current firmware I cannot recommend this drive.

It has good solid speeds. But have been getting random crashes and BSODs after the drive 'dropping out'. Several firmwares have attempted to fix this, and I believe a new one just came out, crossing fingers!
