Not for everybody but if you want to run multiple video cards this unit is for you. Has three pairs of 6 and 8 pin video card outputs labeled by rail making it easy to ensure your cards are getting the required juice.

I do not recommend this PSU for anyone building a high end system unless you have a cooling system for the PSU. Had this hooked up to a Striker II Extreme with a Core 2 Extreme QX9770 and 3x GTX 280 OC2. The PC was able to boot once. I hooked up annother 1000W PSU and it runs fine.

This power supply is great. Has enough connector for anything you can think. 3-8pin pci express and 3-6pin pci express for tri sli. It is one of the best power supplies for tri sli.

As you are probably doing, I searched for a PSU to support my build which included 3 GTX 280's. This PSU fit the bill with its 3x 8-pin connections, as well as an equal ammount of 6-pin connectors. Zero problems here. Very quiet and very powerful. Would recommend to for any high end build. Bought this power supply to power my first computer build and at first I was loving it, It was powering one WD 10krpm 300gb, Qx9770 @ 4ghz and dual evga gtx260s- Then the fan stopped working and I currently cooling it with a case fan (which works better then the fan inside) This psu was great until it failed. Go with an Ultra Imo.

good product that is perfect for quad sli and tri sli. is very econmical with 87% efficiency and is not totally modular but comes very close having only the major wires that you will have to use not being modular.

Tried 3 different Toughpower 1200-Watt power supply units. Each would start my Asus Maximus mobo, quad core 3GHz CPU, dual 8800 Ultra graphics cards, 8GB memory system only once. All subsequent restarts would fail on what appeared to be a overcurrent shutdown. Would not recommend this power supply to anyone with a high end system.
