Runs with no problems so far. Pretty smooth quick. I love Western Digital, never failed on me and good quality fast stuff without glitches. Though a 7200 sucks more power than the old 5400 in my laptop. Looks like it can successfully be used in PS3 and xbox 360 as well if one were so incline to flash the drives. |

I highly recommend this hard drive to all laptop users with a 5400rpm hd and wanting a cheap performance boost. Since SSDs were out of my budget, I upgraded my Seagate 160 gb 5400rpm hd to this drive, which massively improved my laptop's responsiveness. |

I bought this drive for a friend who needed a new disk after his old one died. WDC black disks are very good and this drive is no exception. It is fast (for an HD) and comes with a 5 years warranty. |

I purchased this hard drive for a co-worker. He had a 120GB 5400 RPM Hard drive, and this proved to be a nice upgrade. Besides the increase in storage capacity there was also a noticeable boost in boot-up times. If you want a good performing hard drive and would prefer not to overspend on an SSD, you won't be disappointed with this hard drive. |

like Western Digital, I've installed dozens of them for customers, but I don't think these 7200 RPM drives are ready for prime time. The vibration in my Thinkpad T60 is noticeable and rather bothersome. The drive never "felt" very fast in my computer, it felt like it was slow to react. I could not read the SMART data from Windows XP or Windows 7 using HD Tune. Other Windows apps said it was OK, but when I used HDAT2 I found that it was pre-failure. Had to return for regrooving to WDC after 4 months.
Pros: The throughput on this drive tests very well using HD-Tune. Better than my old 5400 RPM Comment:

This has to be one of the best WD drives that I have put into a laptop system(in this case a MacBook Pro). Like all of the WD disks that I have owned, this one is fast, quiet (not a click, pop, or snap), and, so far, rock solid reliable. I have owned a number of WD drives and, other than one DOA that was exchanged in a week, have never had one fail (the proverbial knock on wood goes here). I am just waiting for a 7200RPM 500GB SATA 2.5 - yes there are some from other manufacturers but when you find something that works you stick with it! |

It is a good drive. I Installed it into my slim PS3, but the noise of accessing the drive is very noticeable. I just want to share my experience to other slim PS3 users (or the future users). I personally kind of wish that I got a 5400rpm than a 7200rpm, but this particular drive has the best C/P value even not on sale.For further more infos, I let slim PS3 do the format rather than using my computer, if this may be the case for the loud noise. |

Put this drive as an update to my Dell laptop T2300 1.66GHZ machine. What a huge difference vs. the 5200RPM drive that came with the machine. Formatted fast and now the boot up time is cut in half at least. Other software start up times have also greatly improved. Great drive and very happy. |

I received this drive and the Ultra Hard drive dock around noon one day. By 1 PM, I was up and running with a cloned drive installed. I replaced the SATA 80 Gig drive in my Acer laptop. Now I ot only have much more room, but the laptop is much faster too! I used the free Acronis software from the WD site to clone the drive and adjust partition size. |

J'ai acheter ce disque dur pour faire une installation à neuf de Windows 7 64bits sur mon portable. Le démarrage de mon laptop est énormément plus rapide maintenant et je sens que ce disque dur à augementé réellement la vitesse de transfert sur mon disque. La consommation semble pas plus grande qu'avec mon disque dur original de 160GB 7200RPM. Le seul défaut noté c'est que ce disque vibre significativement par rapport à mon ancien. Rien de trop exagéré mais quand même audible... |

I put this in my HP DV9335NR as a replacement and sent the old drive to the second bay. Add to that a clean install of Windows 7 and all is working well. I haven't noticed too much heat but I do run a cooling fan under the laptop as it's on a desk. Am going to buy more for my old notebooks. This works wonderful. I ordered it and I swear it was at my door step the next day. Fast service as usual.... |

This is an amazing hard drive! I bought it to replace my old samsung drive in my underpowered 1.6 GHz AMD laptop, which was bottle necking my usb drives. I did a fresh install with win7 x64 and it boots in 30 seconds! Sometimes it seems like my processor can't keep up. Also runs cooler than the old 5400 rpm drive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. |
