Excellent Price tag for a great size drive. as constantly WD makes the best drives. no other HDD has lasted as extended and noise cost-free as these. I have been acquiring Caviar blacks but the blue series is priced so properly and most evaluations rate them well I believed I would give it a attempt. replaced a SE****e 320 with this 500 and my Windows Experiance jumped from 5.9 to 6.1. not enormous but the ideal score I have seen to date from a drive. None but. Newegg.... I have to tell ya that apparently you do study and respond to your personal feedback. Ideal JOB EVER ON SHIPPING!!! The drive I recieved was wrapped in bubble wrap, inside a cardboard package, inside packing peanuts and effectively tapped in a shipping box. so several critiques slam you for the hap hazard way OEM drives are sent but I felt like genuine work was made. And the time it took to recieve my purchace has enhanced more than the final 3 weeks. Thanks Newegg... Merely the greatest!!!

Pretty quickly for a HDD(typical 5.9 W7 Index if you care about that stuff). Never had any problems with the two that I've bought more than the past year and a half. Nada If I ever lose one or fry one, I'll update this review about longevity of the drive, but it will possibly be deactivated by then. None DOA - Dead on arrival. won't format, won't install OS.Poor client service RMA course of action was not at all acceptable. After finding RMA approval I sent the item back only to have New-egg technicians say the serial quantity is missing?!? Why would I send it back if I tampered with it? None Arrived DOA, won't boot just clicks. Ran Data Lifeguard tools and the drive has a read element failure. Won't boot up makes clicking noise. Ran WD Dataguard Tools on it. Diagnostic plan from WD Says : "Read Element Failure Code This drive need to be replaced" I tried it on 2 distinct computer systems and neither can boot this or even will recognize it. I was tempted by the price, nonetheless now soon after reading how a lot of persons have had this identical dilemma, I want I had sprung a couple of a lot more dollars for the seagate or the black edition. It functions. It's 500 gigs. It's 7200 rpm. It's WD. A small on the noisy side compared to my 750 gig caviar black but that's to be anticipated with this level of HDD. I can hear it when in awhile over my front intake fan that's on the noisy side, so I would envision I would hear it even a lot more if the fan wasn't so loud. It was less costly to purchase the 500 gig vs the 160 gig caviar blue with shipping figured in, so retain that in mind if you are looking to get.
