Excellent space, swift and reputable. A little loud when moving big files. Compared to my seagate 5400rpm drive this issue flys!

Cool and Quiet. Drive passed Western Digital's downloadable diagnostic tools application before I integrated it into my technique. five year warranty. None My HP Mediasmart Server ex485 Seagate 750 GB HDD failed soon after two years of continuous service. The Seagate drive usually ran hot. Upon the advice of HP assistance, I replaced it with a comparable sized HDD 鼮GB), although of a various brand. My pool HDD's in the server are WD 1TB "Green" drives. I was advised to not use a "Green drive for the method, considering that it is working all the time. As pointed out above, the method drive is cooler and quieter than the Seagate drive was. I sweat blood for the duration of the recovery of the server, but in reality, it was pretty easy. Because the pool drives have been not corrupt, I got almost everything back!

Acquiring from Newegg. Bought two. First one particular died inside two days. The other is acting a small flakey. I'm a professinal Tech with 30 years expertise. WD has been the "Gold Regular" for me during that time, so I don't think it was just luck. However, I've been noticing that satisfaction ratings are dropping for all makers -- even WD.I'm now seeing ALL IT solutions operating ten-20% defectives across the board. It's gotten to where I'm going to have do burn-in tests on every thing I acquire ahead of promoting it to a consumer. RIDICULOUS!I hope the Chinese create their "World's Quickest" bullet train with the same good quality that they create OUR goods! Don't have to clarify why....

Very Quick DriveGreat PriceQuiet Nothing at all I can consider of Wonderful tough drive. I can't comment on the anything lengthy term but worked correct out of the box, installed Windows 7 in no time at all. Insanely fast compared to my old 160GB drive (Seagate Barracuda from 2004). As usually Newegg got it to me Rapid.

Excellent drive for gaming, cut my load instances in all my games by about half. Prior to I was using a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10. Installed with out a hitch, formatted in Win 7 and was excellent to go. I did not notice the noise that people exactly where complaining about. In my computer, with three 120mm fans operating at about 1300 and a 92mm on my AC freezer pro going at about 1400 I didn't hear anything. My barracuda tends to make an ungodly amount of noise although so perhaps I just think its quiet compared to it. Haven't had any difficulties with it so far. The fail price on Spin drives is in all probability the worst price out of any Pc component out there. Can't wait for Solid State Drives to go down in price and up in space.Only wish I would have purchased a second and put them in Raid. To any person out there complaining that you got ripped off since its only 698Gb formatted you need to comprehend that Difficult drive corporations use the normal a single gigabyte = 1000 megabytes. But to your Operating Method a single gigabyte = 1024 megabytes. Also when you format it setting your cluster size smaller will get you far more space. But you will drop efficiency.

Cool, quiet, performs properly, 5 year warranty. WDC's Acronis-based setup/backup utility operates effectively None Giving WD a try after several decent years with Seagate drives. I have no concept no matter if the "black" drives have greater reliability than "green" or "blue" ones, but I'm going to give "black" a try.

Have had no problems with this really hard drive in my gaming Computer. Came in an anti-static bag in a blank box with no sort of documentation... kinda strange, but that's a Newegg thing, so that doesn't detract from the score of the item.

They just function. Avg read performance is about 100MB/s. Not the quietest. sound like marbles in a box. (yes, I have the rubber dampers on them, thanks) Have three of these boys set up on an 880G motherboard. 2 in RAID 1, 1 stand alone. Plenty fast for my needs, even though the stand alone has dropped off a couple of times. May possibly be the RAID controller although. Have been running "media patrol" since day 1 with no problems.

It's Fast, It Operates, Very good price tag. It is SUPER loud. I replaced a failed HDD on a newer HP desktop with this. This HDD was louder than all the fans in my custom gaming rig an the HP which was sitting right next to it. It was so loud that I thought no way could this be functional. On the other hand it took the image and is at the moment functioning. Even the buyer stated "is it suppose to sound like that?" I would not acquire once more...

Wish it was a SDD at this value! Find the 750 black on sale with free shipping and you won't come across a far better price tag.

Bought 2 for raid and couldn't be happier! They are quite quickly for becoming a 7200rpm HDD.. Been contemplating on an SSD for a boot drive but, the speed of these are so excellent I don't know if the cost would be worth it.. Can't genuinely consider of any Cons. They are good HDD's Want I would have bought two far more of them when they had been on sale final year...

I'll preface by saying I have constantly been a fan of Western Digital. They make trusted products all-around, and I can't even comment on their client service or warranty processes given that their goods have in no way had problems through their warranty period*. If I purchase or recommend a difficult drive, it's always WD.(* right after the warranty period, I have had WD drives die... but it's a mechanical challenging drive, and you can't anticipate perfection forever -- be realistic)As for this drive:a) Incredibly quick, which is the case for the whole Caviar Black series. I get outstanding speeds when transferring files in between all of my WD Caviar Blacks. Nothing at all compared to an SSD, but nevertheless ridiculously quick.b) Quite dependable -- WD under no circumstances lets me down right here. Not just in terms of dying, but I've by no means had a WD drive fail to POST at startup, when I've noticed that occur with other brands.c) The drive was properly packaged. I've by no means had a WD product arrive in significantly less than perfect condition. Not surprisingly, the Black series is louder than the rest. It's not loud by itself, but loud by relative standards. Bottom line: you sacrifice noise for overall performance. It's the "performance" series in the Caviar line, even though. Just like the quickest engine isn't the quietest. However, keeping that in mind, the drive isn't actually loud. It is only audible when there is heavy activity taking spot, like through a complete-disk scan for malware or when looking for a particular file. It's most clear when copying from one particular to the other, certainly because it is *two* Caviar Blacks working at the identical time.Nevertheless, this is a really tiny "con". With the suitable case, you won't genuinely hear the heavy moments significantly. It is just some thing worth mentioning for silence enthusiasts or what ever. If you want absolute silence, get an SSD. I didn't seriously will need much more space, and I admit I only bought it simply because it was the "shell shocker" deal, and the sale produced the 'price per gigabyte' decrease than any other WD Caviar Black that I have ever noticed. Nevertheless, an excellent purchase.
