WD Blue. 3 year warranty. Low-cost getting that it's an old PATA-style drive.When combined with a 512mb upgrade ƒx 128mb sticks) for a total of 640mb, this drive and the memory didn't make the Inspiron 8200 (circa 2001) a brand new laptop, but I definitely gave it a different likelihood at life as a secondary laptop for the kitchen. It's running WinXP Pro. Not as rapid or responsive as an older 160gig Seagate 5400 rpm. Possibly improved platter density, but it just feels snappier on the Seagate. Regardless, I trust WD more than Seagate now...see below. I don't trust Seagate with my current Seagate failures. I flip flop involving WD and Seagate over the years whenever I have a failure. I lately noticed that the Seagate is created in China; the WD is created in Malaysia. Thumbs up to WD! |

It is a Western Digital really hard drive. Worked fantastic for replacement in an older Dell laptop. Western Digital is the ONLY hard drive manufacturer I will use; I have had as well many failures with other brands. None It is finding harder to come across ATA laptop really hard drives; everything is SATA these days. |

Brand new IDE drive (April 2010) with a warranty for a decent price tag. Brought an old Sony Vaio PCGK15 laptop back to life. The original drive was a 60GB 4200RPM Toshiba so this was a tiny upgrade. It's quiet, fast and hopefully as reliable as my other WD drives. None Tried to save a couple of bucks on a properly known auction web-site and failed miserably. I generally end up back at Newegg. Good job by the shipping individual. Drive shipped bubble wrapped inside of a modest box which was surrounded with paper inside a bigger box. |

Installed into a older laptop Toshiba i assume. Which only had a 40 gig. Fit completely setup was a breeze also. One concern 1 of the metal prongs to plug it in was bent nearly at a 90 degree angel. A novice would of been scared to repair that item. Im not sure if it was the packing to blame due to the fact it was oem. Only bubble wrap which is fine if its a sata drive. But laptop drives are naked with male IDE plugs facing out. Every little thing was fixed and fantastic to go. Purchase THIS ITEM |

Rapidly and practically inaudible drive! Great replacement for my old IBM 40GB drive. Sometimes this drive emits some strange clicks but I consider this is standard for a laptop drive. A bit pricey for an old ATA laptop drive. |

Incredibly quiet and fast deployment of applications. flawless drive... The price tag was a little higher for technologies that will soon be phased out. I picked up an old lap top for ŭ at a garage sale, and determined it had a undesirable really hard drive. I installed this tough drive on it and now the old lap top rated is running photoshop and xp with ease. The drive loads programs rapidly with no noise. |

Put this in an old Dell Inspiron 2650. Dell recognizes it without having a problem. Extremely quiet compared to the original 20gb difficult drive. Battery lasts about 25min longer. It is also silent and substantially quicker. Wonderful upgrade! none so far Remember to take the pin adapter of the old tough drive and put it on the new one particular prior to installing it in the tough drive caddy. |

As generally, WD drives have come through for me with flying colors. Rock-strong, reliable drives that I use (if offered) in all my clientele' Pc's. Only had a few WD drives go undesirable on me in 17+ years of IT perform, and WD has *always* been perfect on honoring their warranty. Super-quick NewEgg shipping! Not actually a "con", per se, but the drive is a little expensive, thinking of the size. Nevertheless, PATA/IDE is older technology, and like with all older technology, it's high priced at very first, gets super-cheap, then pricey again as it's phased out. Not unreasonably priced, but could have identified one particular cheaper on e**y ...but definitely not shipped as swiftly. Love Enjoy Enjoy NewEgg ...and now that they have very same-day delivery in my region (Memphis), I am a Pleased camper - and so are my consumers :) |

Like numerous other purchasers of this HDD, I was wanting to upgrade the measly 40gb Hitachi HDD in my PlayStation three. I happened to catch this wonderful tiny device on a specific, ื.99 w/free shipping. I scooped it up, and was not disappointed. PS3 games, as opposed to Xbox 360, call for that a portion of the game be installed to the tough drive, with an typical game consuming around 2 - five gigabytes of space. This can quickly fill up a 40 gig HDD. On best of the enormous storage space for the remarkable cost, it is unbelievably quiet. Sometimes (some of you know what I'm speaking about) the PS3's HDD will rev up and sound some thing equivalent to a jet turbine for 15-30 minutes. You get none of that with this. Good quiet operation. I adore it. Nadda 1. I recommend that you have at least a 16mb flash drive handy. The ideal way I found to transfer all of my game saves, and other media like music, videos, etc., is to delete all of the huge game installations (not your saves, just the game data that installed to your HDD when you 1st put in a new game) and then run the "Backup Utility" in the Program Settings menu. It took me about 45 minutes to backup anything. Then swap out the drives, go back to Program Settings, Backup Utility, then Restore. It'll put your PS3 back just the way you had it, minus the game installs and Trophies (you'll have to go to "Trophies" and sync them to get them all back). |

Functions fantastic as a replacement really hard drive in a customer's older Dell laptop. Easy to set up. A bit pricey for it getting a smaller challenging drive, but since its IDE (older interface); instead of SATA (newer interface), they charge more. Want everyone didn't want to charge far more for IDE. Its sort of ridiculous - I assume. Alot of folks nevertheless use IDE and have older computers with IDE. It shouldn't cost so substantially for a tiny IDE tough drive.
