I have had seagate and maxtor hd. Both died or eventually bad sectors. I bought 2 250gig hd 7yrs ago. To this day never ever had issue with them. I just built new system and very happy with this for i can take files with me and plug it in another computer. |

The western digital my passport 1TB is a compact hard drive andalso portable. Ultra fast data transfers with USB 3.0 .Include an Automatic Backup and you can use a password to protect your files.So I recommended this product to everyone. |

Do yourself a favour and format this thing right out of the box, ignoring the bloatware that comes with it. It otherwise does the job perfectly. Got it on sale for 60$, and it was worth it. |

Bought the drive to store movies on a media player, the drive perfectly, its fast to copy stuff on it, and its easy to move arround in the house since there is only a 6inch usb cable, no power supply to move arround or anything, and for the price it sells, I love them. I always liked the passport series and had a few usb2 before this one. |

ive owned quite a few portable drives and this one seems to be louder then the rest.also i had a slight issues with my macbook pro. the initial time i plugged it in it crashed the laptop and seemed to change the startup disk to none. i believe it was an anomaly and would buy again |

This is a tiny little drive, a little thicker but much shorter than any of my other 2.5" externals. Speed seems good, and nice and quiet, doesn't seem to get too hot. Comes with plenty of software that some will find useful, including NTFS compatibility for Macs. However, I just reformatted it to HFS+. |
