- Gigabit networking- Full Wireless N support - extreme lack of tech help- seems to disconnect randomly- high priced- no gateway help Tech help tried to inform me that my motherboard doesn't help 1GB networking, when in the TITLE (which I purchased on newegg) it says it does, and I had it connected to my pal's GB network. Sent it back & they agreed that anything was incorrect with it. Took 2 weeks to get that far.

wired Gigabits connection that is all this modem has operating! wireless is big challenge! I am using it in room subsequent to modem and get only 65 mbps speed exactly where is Airlink 300 modem which I replaced this with gets 150 mbps. across the residence it gets only 1 or two bar with 11 mbps speed. Also beaware VOIP telephone usres on exact same line. when you are downloding huge file it directs all bandwidth to that function and your phone connection will distort or line will drop. Referred to as assistance but no help so far. to use 5 mhz you need to have to have adapter so that function is useless if you are pondering not to upgrade adapter. I am pondering to pull wire across the house to use Gigbit wired connection and not use wireless. wired connection performs good! I could have gone with Dlink or Trendnet. But now I am stuck.

This router is amazing. It has all sort of features ACLs to restrict particular ports or sites, VPN, UPnP support, QoS, Permit connection only in the course of particular components of the day. The LELA computer software performs, and is effortless to set up. You can even set up WEP/WPA/WPA2 from the CD and configure your SSID and private important. A little far more expensive then the competitor N+ Router but I wouldn't change it given that it fixed all my difficulties. I was about a week from ordering stuff to challenging-wire a three,000 square feet town household, I went and took back a previous router, which was junk, it wouldn't even connect sitting next to it. Different brand although, won't mention the name here. I bought this router, paid the extra ุ, in addition to my exchange, came home set this router up, and within seconds, BAM my laptop could ultimately connect wireless once again. My desktop is in my finished basement, which is in all probability about one hundred-200 feet from my router, my prior router would not connect. Inside seconds my desktop connected. This router is the best out there that I have had so far, I attempted about 6 diverse routers, and this is the only one that has worked. If you have problems update the firmware it comes with 1...1 and 1...three is accessible on linksys web page.

Really quickly wired network. Extremely easy setup Wireless connections slow and weak range This unit I received and sent back for a different, should have been a dud, due to the fact even about five feet away from the router, my Dell notebook with wireless N was only capable to get possibly tops, a 12 Mb speed. At ten feet away, the signal strength would drop to "good", and at 30 feet, fair with a 3.5 Mb speed. I attempted my Dell notebook connected to a WRT54G ( I forget actual model number), and it got quite great signal strength at 50 feet and got a 72 Mb speed, (faster than G spec).I hope the 2nd unit Newegg sends me functions nicely so I can hold it. If it is also no excellent, then I will discover out how very good Neweggs return policy is for refunds, and I hope I can do that ahead of the 30 days to do this in expires. I had to send the first unit back to newegg in California from NY.

Looks cool iperf speed tests from wired to wireless (N mode only, 5Ghz band, 20 feet away) topped out at 25 Mb/s. N should be a lot, significantly quicker. net primarily based user interface is often locked up, i have to power cycle the router if i want to adjust settings. 2.4Ghz band was even slower. I'm now seeking for a different router to replace this 1. I utilized to be a die-really hard Linksys fan, but numbers don't lie.

RELIABILITY and Performance. I get consistent gigabit WAN overall performance. Wireless N is much far more reliable than Dlink routers. I am in a position to run mixed wireless G/N mode on all my devices - samsung LED Tv, PCs, laptops, media Players, game consoles.Effortless to set up. Swift installation and computer software is very basic to use. The advanced settings need to be far more robust like Dlink routers have. The Easylink Advisor software is excellent for novices but not good for technically savvy men and women. I had a Dlink Wireless N router and was not reliable-dropped signal continually which needed reboot. This Linksys router is fantastic on overall performance and reliability but wish it had the more robust sophisticated settings that Dlink routers have.

It is a Linksys, setup and install have been incredibly uncomplicated. The variety is superior than my old Linksys 54g and the gigabit interface enhanced response on my desktop. I am relatively technical but when I used my old WEP encryption ( which means not WPA ) none of my Vista laptops would work; you get a domain message. Discovered resolution on Internet; change to WPA then all way effectively except iPhone no longer worked; can not join. Go to OTher network and define WPA and iPhone is up and operating. It was somewhat of an education but I knew going to new technology was going to stretch me a small much more.

It's a decent router that'll get the job accomplished. The variety is quite fantastic becoming able to go through various walls and nonetheless have a very good adequate signal to surf I assume it's been described that it doesn't do each two.4 and 5 ghz so don't purchase it expecting that. Nothing at all spectacular. I need to get cat six cable to test out the gigabit lan capablility...

1GB switch. Quickly new CPU from BroadCOM. DD-WRT will soon have help for this router but the latest Linksys Firmware operates good, seems all problems have been resolved now.Router was easy to configure, I don't know what some of the other comments saying it was really hard was about. The router use the regular Linksys net UI.Router has been operating two weeks without having a reboot or slowdown now. The wireless signal strength is not the finest. Some D-Links have greater throughput, but they can't run DD-WRT. This router can saturate a 100MBit WAN link so don't see the aditional throughput as considerably of an benefit.

Gigabit, dual band (not simultaneous), following some cautious reading in some forums DD-WRT flashed on this router with no a hitch. Saw some evaluations of this model saying 5 ghz N range is much better on this router than the 610N, that is certainly the case. Somewhat pricy, no official DD-WRT help but, no USB ports like the 610N. 22 days of uptime with 3 gigabit ethernet connections, 2 wireless N connections, and some G devices right here and there. Not a single hiccup, and not too toasty either. Keep in mind this is with a lot of video streaming, network backup, and operating a Jinzora streaming music server in my basement.

Surprisingly capable embedded software out-of-the-box. DD-WRT set up is feasible, I'm nonetheless considering if it is worth the time to adjust to it. I'm wishing for a couple of far more selections for the DHCP server, but nothing at all I can't reside with out. Good signal strength for G applications. Haven not attempted N. It replaced an older Motorola box that needed an external complete wave antenna to get the signal exactly where I wanted it. This one particular works fantastic as is. Small form factor, nice style. Appears to run rather warm. Don't know what it will do to its longevity.

Dual band the included software is amazing for monitoring your network. It is also makes setup a breeze. It stays connected. Gigabit ethernet ports. No conflicts with ports on any applications or games I use or with Norton Web Security 2009. Not simultaneous dual band like the model above it. Very a bit slower than becoming plugged straight into my T1 port, but that was anticipated. It functions on a network operating Cisco Clean Access suitable out of the box. That alone makes it worth the purchase to me. A bit pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for. I purchased a low-cost draft N Linksys that was awful that I returned following two days.

I installed the newest version of DD-WRT (DD-WRT v24-sp2 ྫྷቯብ) large make).Given that this router has 32 mb of memory it has far more than sufficient memory to handle this develop.I've heard of problems such as speed drop but I've by no means had the displeasure due to the fact I flashed my router suitable out the box.Superb lan speed (Gigabit network is consistently streaming above 100 mbs/sec),soild wireless overall performance, amd highly reliable. No USB port on back or simultaneous dual band wireless but personally I don't need to have these characteristics but if these are features you want checkout the Linksys 610N or Netgear WNDR 3700 series. Great bang for the buck!!!

Sleek design and style if not rack-mounting Suffers from very same issues for Linksys is becoming famousWeb interface stops responding right after a although, even believed NAT and routing nonetheless fouction and the device responds to ICMP. The last Linksys I owned (different model) exhibited this behavior about 1 month prior to giving up the ghost.Dropped VOIP calls. Does not happen with any of my other routers made by different vendors, regardless of the age or model. QOS function is a joke, although this is to be anticipated with a customer device.Deja-vu: Right here we go again with an additional failed Linksys product. Why do men and women continue to purchase Linksys garbage? I have had far more concerns with their solutions than from any other networking corporation.I cannot speak to the wireless performance, as I am only utilizing this for wired NAT. My residence is GigE wired with an external access point for guests and only makes use of the Linksys to connect a GigE switch to the outside planet. From now on I will do what I need to have been performing currently, viz. spend the added dollars on one thing far better like Juniper. I have a friend who installs high-end media networks for affluent shoppers who abandoned Linksys some time ago in favor of Draytech. Possibly this is an choice, as well.

Slim style, appears cool, gigabit ports perform wonderful. Wireless didn't work. I study a lot of critiques on this router ahead of purchasing and decided to give it a try. I'm a network admin and attempted anything in the book to get two laptops to acquire an IP with no joy. Thanks to NewEgg's chat and free of charge RMA shipping, I'll continue to be a NewEgg consumer. Just ordered a DLink router. Hope that one particular works.

Lastly discovered the model that genuinely performs. This is truely N and can switch frequencies if necessary. In no way loses contact, does not get hot, recognizes computers immediately, very incredibly rapidly. None so far. Owner must have newer computers to comprehend the accurate speed and possible of this router. Genuinely brings out the speed and flash of Windows 7.

Stock firmware is incredibly nicely made and compatible with most user's demands. I did not have a challenge with it except that I could not get WOL (wake on lan) to work more than the internet. However, this point loaded with dd-wrt is wonderful. Does everything and more you would require and it fixed my WOL difficulty. Awesome range and speed over wireless. Never ever got dropped. Wireless was only utilised on my smartphone and itouch even so. With the dd-wrt firmware, it offers you so much potential, as much characteristics as a ŭK cisco router. For those of you complaining about the wireless dropping, try updating to the most up-to-date Linksys firmware. It just requirements to set up effectively. I would recommend employing dd-wrt firmware in any case if you are a little tech savvy. I say this simply because these newer WRT routers are so considerably much easier to update to dd-wrt than the previous wrt54g's. No need to have to do any unique resets or whatever. Just update the firmware through the administration tab in the stock linksys firmware. Read up at dd-wrt.com NONE
