The wireless on my venerable dlink624 was finally starting to get flaky, so I decided on this one to replace it. A mistake I guess. Everything went fine with the install, very simple, so I jumped on the net and got...super slow page loading. Pinging yahoo and google and getting 50% packetloss, no wonder it's so slow. Tried on the wireless laptop with a different OS and it's the same deal. Removed new router, put old Dlink in...no packetloss. Went direct to cable modem from PC...no packetloss. Go back to the Linksys: packetloss. Adjusted MTU in the router down to 1472, updated firmware to 1.5.01, reset to factory defaults, checked NIC settings, turned off firewall, turned off antivirus, same deal (I'm a network analyst). I can ping inside and outside router interfaces just fine but when I traverse the router it is terrible. Called Linksys and went through the entire troubleshooting path doing much of what I had already done, they eventually told me that this is a newer router and I should return it. I certainly will it to NCIX and will not be picking up another Linksys; I don't want to chance another one of these just to have the same issue. Sorry for the long rant but I thought I'd share my experience. I have no choice but to give it a 1, it would be a zero if I had the ability to do so. |

Cons: Wirless G, can't handle high definition streaming video via wireless 1920x1080p via tversity.

I bought the refurbished version of this router. sku : 39286 (Part#: WRT54G2RM). This is a great router, bought this instead of a switch because the price wasn't that much higher. Works great as a router in conjunction with my other ISP provided Siemens Speedstream router, which is the gateway. Streams HD video fine over ethernet, no problems to report. |

Cons: I keep on getting disconnected every once in a while and I have to unplug and replug the router to fix it.
Pros: needed a router so got the cheapest one on sale at the time. Comment:
This router just keeps on disconnecting every once in a while and I have to power cycle it every time. I have tried things like setting it back to default settings when it started happening but it didn't help. I might end up trying to put a different firmware on it soon. I got this product since my old d-link router died. It turned out to be the perfect replacement. I noticed increases in streaming speeds. The wireless connection is also pretty reliable. I highly recommended purchasing this product. |

Been running this router in my home for a good year now, been rock solid during that time never had to reset it. I have my PC and HD-DVD player hardwired, and my PS3 and Laptop running off the wireless. In the next room and throughout my condo the signal strength is great. MAC address filtering and WPA2 provide more than adequate security. I don't do a lot of heavy file transfer over wireless so 802.11G is just fine for me. Solid router, good feature set, would buy again. |

I set this one up at my sister's house and it work flawlessly with her computer and iphone. It was pretty easy to setup. Similar to the older linksys web interface |
Unfortunately I got the V1.5, and any revisions of this router beyond 1.3 are impossible to install custom firmware like Tomato on, making it quite restrictive in how you can acutally use this router.
