Cons: difficult to set up, overheats and hangs after a few hours

Pros: none that I can think of because it didn't work long enough
Comment:
I bought this at the First Markham Place grand opening. Took it home, hooked it up. The network setup portion wouldn't work properly so I set it up manually. After 2-3 hours operation, the unit became excessively hot and froze up. I brought it back to NCIX and got a second unit. Same result. On returning it to NCIX, I was gleefully informed that, sadly, I had missed the 30 day return window by 2 DAYS so they wouldn't refund or try to repair the unit and I'd have to deal with the manufacturer directly. In summary, poor product (twice) and poor customer service by NCIX. I have bought from NCIX in the past without complaint, but I am now weary to deal with them again. Buyer beware. Note: I tried to give this 1 star because my experience with this is terrible. Unfortunately, to give a review less than 3 stars requires an order number and in store purchases don't have them. So if anyone from NCIX would like to try to straighten this mess out, my INVOICE number is 4036527

Cons: The wireless distance can be better.

Pros: Very fast for file transfer, Hd movie. Support 2.4 and 5 ghz wifi.Support DD-WRT mega without issues.Have light that will tel you if you are in 100 or 1000.
Comment:
I have this Router since a year and I'm very happy with it. If you dont like the Gui of Linksys you can install the DD-WRT mega and it's running very smootly. For the wireless it's working well but the distance can be better.

Pros: strong signal;MIMO work very great;

Replaced DIR 825 because of the chain d/c, so far in this one year ownership of this router, I have never need to restart, or reconnect it. It works great to me but not D-link's router.

Cons: Doesn't come with DD-WRT by defaultA little expensive802.11a support is currently superfluous

Pros: Can run DD-WRTEasy to upgrade to use DD-WRT rather than linksys firmwareExcellent performance (when running DD-WRT)
Comment:
I purchased this router since my linux PC smoothwall based router died, and I very much wanted to have openVPN access to my home network well abroad.DD-WRT was chosen as how I was going to do this (it's a router firmware that is based on linux), and the WRT610N just happened to be a great hardware platform to do it on.It seems NCIX is now shipping the Version 2.0 hardware, and upgrading to DD-WRT was as simple as using the routers built in firmware update  tool.Easy as pie.Subjectively speaking this router can handle a lot of simultaneous connections smoothly - I have a voip phone and used to notice a lot of stuttering and noise when I would have torrents running (even if bandwidth limited) while on the phone. This router handles both without blinking and even has QoS features that allow discrimination based on MAC address - so in this case the phone gets highest priority and therefore sees no delays.Overall a great product when running DD-WRT.

Cons: Cuts out periodically and not sure why

Pros: Very strong signal strength
Comment:
Ran my computer wired, wireless... My sons gaming comp, a PS3 playing live, and a laptop downloading at the same time and nobody complained. I run a gaming computer upstairs. My son runs a gaming comp downstairs, and his xbox. Signal is very good for him. I bought a high end adapter for his comp and he can play any multiplayer game without any noticeable lag. I had to get rid of a wireless phone that was cutting off the signal and also find that if you run older wireless G laptops on the network, there may be stability issues. But to be honest, I haven't looked too far into how to remedey that issue. The firmware upgrade would probably help. I haven't even tried running the gaming comp on the stronger frequency either. Cons: Lots

Pros: None, keeps loosing connections to lap tops, PS3 and PSP
Comment:
I've had this router for a year and the all of a sudden i loose connection on my PS3, PSP and my home laptops. I have nothing but trouble with trying to hook it it back up to my PS3 and my laptop only gets local connection on the second boot up after connecting it. I have gotten the WRT160N and I still have the same problems. Going to a different brand.

Cons: None yet

Pros: Speed and USB Storage with Interface
Comment:
This is a really great router. I get great speed wired or on Wireless N. I have chosen this model because of the USB storage feature, which has an interface config as well. Now all I do is hide this with my USB 1.5 terabyte drive & my backup are kept safe in case of a robbery.

Cons: Runs hot, lack of mac support, SMB issues

Pros: Stable, fast and potential
Comment:
I purchased this and got a great deal on it.. I'll keep it for now, but I am looking for another solution. It won't allow for much usage on my mac's without some tweaking and even then the SMB is poor. I haven't tried it on my PC's in the household, but apart from the features I bought into it runs great and is stable.

Cons: Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Would be nice if range could be extended slightly. DD-WRT firmware not ready yet, but this is not Linksys' problem.

Pros: Excellent performance over wired and wireless, decent range, simultaneous dual-band for separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz operation, excellent stability.
Comment:
I bought this router knowing fully of all the negative consumer reviews it's been getting -- and I did keep it in mind when I purchased this unit from NCIX. However, it seems to be obvious that many users who complained about the reliability, stability, and performance of this router seems to just buy the most expensive router thinking they would know how to use it -- unfortunately it is important to note that this router is NOT for everyone. If you are networking geek enough and know how to use this router properly, this is an excellent router. I experienced zero connection drops over wireless, had over 8MB/s at 50% signal over N at 5GHz 2 floors away from this router (93% over 2.4GHz G at same location but with much degraded performance), consistent and stable, and as aforementioned excellent performance. I locked 2.4GHz into G only mode and 5GHz into N only mode for two separate networks. Overall, this router is everything you are looking for if you want performance and stability over both wireless and wired (although the latter is not significant despite its Gigabit ports since I already have a separate Gigabit switch for my home network incorporating 3 servers and 7 computers). It's expensive, but it's worth every penny if you want the best -- given that you know how to use it!

Cons: Storage link didn't always work

Pros: Great with PS3 + N band connections
Comment:
I bought this after my roommate got a ps3 and kept killing our connections on the crappy G d-link my ex left me.It certainly helped that situation, and I tried to use the storage link for my enclosed hdd. Most of the time the hdd was not found.Because of that, I never upgraded the firmware and returned it. I'm now on the next linksys down and just keep my external linked to my pc. It would drop  a lot, but I'm sure that had something to do with The Worst Roommate Ever. Sped up after modding the firmware.

Cons: V2.0 (ralink chipset) constantly loose connections on both wires and wireless. No firmware (including beta) will work on the wrt-160n V2.x models.Linksys support is worthless. Get's rather warm even in a room that is very cool.Often crashes and bricks when it auto updates.

Pros: Quick access to settings.Sleek.Rage is ok but not as good as the 54g.Allows for
Comment:
Hi.In all honesty these should be pulled off all shelves at computer store.Even Linksys has all but given up on them.Roughly 8.7/10 of these wrt-160n's end up as bricks in a week. The 0.7 refers to some functions are still working but are basically worthless.

Pros: Nice designGigabite LAN&WANIntegrated antennas
Comment:
Really disapointed especially for the price, i would give it the same score as my last D-Link WBR-2310 which was a real piece of crap, but it was way way cheaper. Other than that i really liked the design, but hey my home network won't be faster cuz of that. So if you want a real router without breaking the bank i would go D-Link 825 without a doubt.

Cons: the USB port is useless for a SAN

Pros: good signal, great speed
Comment:
it's a really good router overall, but if I had the choice, I would get the 310 and a SAN...the USB speed is about 4-5MB/s max, even with a 40MB/s usb hard drive... so it's completly useless
