Cons: set up slow

Pros: Stable, fast
Comment:
I'm quite happy with this powerline set. I lucked out with my wiring (fairly recent copper in a 50s house). They always connect with a green connection and 0 drops. My only complaint is the pairing process takes way longer than expected. After attempting to pair from two different rooms I set them up in the same room so I could hit the secure/pair button quickly on both and I'd be able to see the status on both. Took quite a few minutes (I'd assume it'd be near instant). The instructions don't state it will take as long as it does (not that I remember at least). This lets me delay pulling CAT5e/6 a bit longer. Definitely not comparable to gigabit ethernet, but I am able to max out my internet connection (which was impossible on wireless from the basement). Steam streaming appears to work fine as well (though I was only streaming at 720P during my tests).

Cons: No passthrough eletrical plug, no power over ethernet, sometimes not enough bandwidth

Pros: Fairly small profile, reliable connectivity
Comment:
Small little unit that for the most part gets the job done. My wiring is 25-30 years old, and it seems to struggle to maintain a green status. I commonly see them in yellow, sometimes going into red. When its been in red, it has had trouble streaming multimedia files from my storage to my HTPC fast enough. Data is still getting through at a consistent rate, but the rate at which it's transmitting has been too slow to keep up to the play rate.Basically, it's a lot better than wireless since it always maintains a connection and never outright drops, but sometimes the throughput is a bit slow.
