Simple set up. Great match in my Zalman GS1000 case. Cable long adequate to reach the USB header on my GA-EX58-UD5. Excellent appear and really feel on faceplate (many other units look like someone employed a typewriter to determine the slots).Cards don't go in upside-down like quite a few other individuals. Does not help MiniSD as indicated on NewEgg solution web page. Manufacturer's product web-site does not have this error.USB cable was not attached to device "nicely." It was jammed on at an angle, or bent throughout packaging. This caused minor bending of the pins. It would have been greater if they shipped the cable unattached. Incredibly minor and easily fixed. It would be good if the cable was a single sheathed arrangement vs. two separate sheathes. I'm confused by some of the overall performance related testimonials. Isn't this device limited by the speed of the connected card and the USB header on the logic board? I stuck in a 16GB SDHC card and received 12.8MB/s write & 19.three MB/s study speeds. My jetflash USB drive did 10ቱ, which is the same it does on every single other USB port. It's not best, but at the price tag, it is a incredibly good worth. The great appears enable.

USB Port Performs I've had this for more than a year and a half. I haven't utilized it for the last 9 months since I had difficulty with it in the Pc I utilised it in before. The SD card slot got finicky right after about two months of use, and you would either push down on SD cards so they would make speak to, or gradually slide the card in until the SD card would show up, then not push it in the slightest bit additional. The micro SD card slot also had comparable difficulties. Ultimately, all the drives from it would periodically disapper, yet the USB port would nonetheless work on it. About a week ago I put it back in my new computer, and ran into the exact similar troubles. It is now taking up space in a landfill... exactly where it genuinely belongs. I hope you read this critique and don't make the error of purchasing any card reader from this business. BTW I purchased the Kingston external USB card reader from Newegg and have had no key difficulties with that.

This point is uncomplicated to set up, I wish I'd been placing them in all the PCs Ive constructed. The actuall set up took about 7 to 9 minutes (no kidding) and it requires up one 3.25 slot (who utilizes those any much more anyways?). Now I have an additional USB on the front, plus can study any media thats provided to me. Effectively, I did have to spend for it. Stupid simple. Go for it.

This card reader performs completely fine. The drives do not show unless they are active which is good. Purchased to replace old APACER card reader that worked in XP, Vista and Vista 64, but did not in Win7. The manufacturers site has some custom icons, but I could not figure out how to use them...supposedly they perform in Win7 64bit, but the directions are not extremely clear. Had it for about a month now and I have applied memory stick pro duo, MicroSD, CF, SD, SDHC and USB, all operate with no troubles. None that I have discovered Working with Win7 Ultimate 64bit, installed without having a challenge. Does not eat MicroSD cards as some stated. Blue LED on front stays on, but is not as bright as some claim (IE eye burningly vibrant). I had to opportunity it because most testimonials are silly and non helpful.Bottomline:I would highly advise this to anybody using Win7 64bit and seeking for a fantastic card reader that just performs.

Fits the three.five" hole in my Gigabyte case.Good color match to the case.Reads what I place in it. Operates with PCLinuxOS. None yet. Photography is a massive point in our family. I don't dictate what camera or card format is used. I purchased this reader to be ahead of the curve. Youngest daughter uses an Olympus waterproof camera that take xD cards (somewhat rare). She comes residence and we just upload the pictures...uncomplicated-peasy.My Linux distro sees this device...no issue.

Operate effectively when it operates (see beneath). See my earlier assessment. To amend my earlier critique about the disappearing drive icons, I assume it might aid to set the motherboard BIOS to enable the use of "Plug And Play O/S". I don't know if this is a full fix, but I consider the problem has a thing to do with the interaction of the flash reader with the motherboard and the operating method. Hope this assists.

Rapid & effortless set up, all my different cards work with it, advertisements a USB port to the front. Easy clean design, keeps it uncluttered by not offering support for items that NO A single utilizes anymore. None I saw Falcon Northwest was using it their builds. I figured if a company that builds Ű,000+ computer systems was making use of it, then it's in all probability great adequate for me. I was appropriate.

Performs great in my Pentium 4 3.0GHz operating Vista House Premium 32 bit Vista Ultimate x64 will not accept the x64 driver due to the fact it is not signed. I feel it would probably work with Vista House Fundamental or Premium x64, just not Ultimate x64 due to the fact of the larger safety. I'll be stalking their website waiting for a driver that Vista Ultimate x64 likes.

Best for my Computer. This has a MicroSD card entrance without having an adapter. My old card reader (Sabrent) goes dead if two cards are plugged in at as soon as, even though this one particular shows both or all cards. Works with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Foxconn Renaissance MB. At initial, there was a slow startup on Windows and BIOS, which was annoying, but decided to hold it in the case plugged in, as i needed a card reader like this. Soon after a even though startup came back to regular, which was an approximate ten-15 seconds of loading. The drivers took a while to set up, but following they install, startup will resume to normal as was just before. This is just like the Kiosk reader produced by AFT as well, except it does not have the colors and requires up one USB slot. Most testimonials for this item are negative such as "eats Micro SD" and "blinding light." These are false, my Micro SD is not stuck and at least 2Ǚ of it is out of the reader. The blue light is NOT BLINDING nor is it a laser. If you need one that performs and don't actually care about the annoying initial installation then get this. Also, if you have a case with screwless design, this this is long and will not wobble about(my old a single (Sabrent in NZXT Apollo did).

It doesn't flop around on the desktop. Following about two makes use of, the unit stopped operating. In reality, my Pc will not boot if the unit is plugged into the USB header on the motherboard. (XP Pro) I attempted installing the driver disk, but now I have software that won't let the uninstall to run. Fundamentally, it is a piece of junk. This unit ought to get zero eggs. It is nonetheless in the case just prevent an ugly hole and control air flow. I have not contacted Newegg about a return, but. I will let you know how that goes. I had a Hyperlinks Important internal unit prior to this 1 that also died. You get what you spend for with these low-dollar internal drives. The only card reader I have ever applied that works reliably is the SanDisk external 52-in-1. Pricey but trustworthy. I have an i-rocks IR-5400 that has held up at residence fairly properly.

I've been making use of these for two years and haven't had a difficulty. MicroSD slot is nice but it's a small difficult to to remove the card as soon as inserted. Other than that no complaints. A real Plus for me is that it reads ancient Olympus Smart Media cards. None These exactly where out of stock for the longest time last year...glad to see they're offered again.

Uncomplicated installation, fits in a 3.five" drive bay, MicroSD support, USB port. Data transfers quite quickly, much quicker than any other reader I've owned. Have to be incredibly cautious when inserting a MicroSD card, it's uncomplicated to accidentally lose it in the bigger portion of the slot and have to fish it out. My Shuttle's quirky Standby mode has occasionally offered it fits. I purchased this to replace the built-in (junk) card reader on my Shuttle SD31P. Plugs into a header on the front expansion board (just make certain you unplug the old reader very first!)

Vist enterprise tough to find the slot in a dimly llt room it would be handy if an onscreen promt would show the front of the unit and where the card is inserted. Perhaps even a selection to pick the slot onscreen and it would lght up on the unit.

The USB port performs fine. It was the proper color. It doesn't function. I never ever got it to read a single card. From time to time the reader drives show up, from time to time they don't, but none of the reader ports has been capable to essentially read any card I have. This was as well inexpensive to seriously consider sending back for RMA. I decided to place it in one of my older machines that didn't have a front USB port and at least get the advantage of the only portion of it that functions. I bought a various brand reader right here on Newegg for about the very same price and that one operates just fine.

It looks excellent in a black Pc case. The extra Front USB may be great for any person who doesn't have front USB already. The card reader doesn't operate. It disconnects and has to be unplugged from the motherboard to be recognised once more. Also, even when it shows up in device manager, it won't read any of my SD cards. The front USB connection works. The card reader does not. It is as well affordable to send back for a replacement. It's not worth the shipping or the hassle.

compact unit that slides nicely into a three.5" bay. The USB cable is secured to the reader mounting with a tie, so lowering the risk of the cable getting accisently disconnected at the reader end.Installed on Vista Ultimate x64 process, the drives had been recognised promptly. As soon as the icon software was installed (you have to download), the card/drive icons are grey when no cards are inserted, but transform colour with a memory card inserted, very helpful. Unfortunately the front USB port did not function at all. tried this in various machines. Purpose for picking this was that I wanted both the front USB port and card readers.Putting in the icon software program was a pain, Vista complained about the digital signature, AFT give perform aroud directions. It does frustrate me that Newegg charges you to return a solution that does not work, but then once again they do work to keep their rates low and responded to my RMA queries promptly.reading other critiques, seems like many people have issues with either the card readers not working, but the USB port does, or vice versa. With regards to the icon computer software on Vista - Vista has been close to now for 2 years, so not obtaining computer software that performs with vista without having to jump through hoops speaks volumes. This actually is an inferior solution.

Looks good. Low-cost. Eats MicroSD cards. Once you pull a card out, it generally refuses to read it once again unless you do a reboot. Also economical to RMA also junky to rely on. I got this reader when it 1st came out. I truly liked how it looked in my new create utilizing a Coolermaster EVO case. A single of the major items I was excited about, was the readers ability to read MicroSD cards without having having to fish about for an adapter. I got anything hooked up, took the MicroSD card out of my device and place it into the reader. When I say into, I imply INTO. It slipped all the way in and no matter how I attempted I could get it out. I lastly had to remove the reader from the bay and shake it upside down till the card fell out. Needless to say, I've by no means attempted it with no the adapter once again. Truly, that's not accurate I pushed it in once again 1 additional time Incredibly slowly and it began to read, but there was no resistance at all to quit it from going all the way into the reader again. That was my final time. The other challenge is there have been quite a few instances when I've pulled a card out after reading it, only to locate that the reader no longer worked till my next reboot.

It supports all the preferred media card varieties. I've had it for roughly 6 months now and it has but to fail to read any media card that I've inserted. It has a little blue light on the front to indicate that it has power. This blue light never ever goes off unless you unplug the Pc energy cord. The blue power LED on the front need to have been produced to turn off when the Computer is turned off. Also negative it can't read SIM cards from T-Mobile phones....
