Okay, so one of the greatest things is that this unit runs off batteries so no wires, but... With that you get reduced sensitivity. You can not see this unit in the sunlight, nor can you hear it with the windows down, or the radio on. It also gives tons of false Ka readings. I was driving down a country road with nothing but me, cows, and trees, and this thing would false. I also happened upon real Ka radar back in town, and with luck I was actually doing the speed limit because I didn't know he was there until I actually saw the whites of his eyes, literally. Bad unit, maybe, but I don't think so. My old 1610 has way better performance than this thing, so I suggest moving up to a 695SE, or at least something that is wired. These guys took it back no questions asked.

I have owned Cobras for years, and thought I would try something else. Well, that was a mistake. I love all the features of this detector, but had a LOT of false alerts. Everytime it went off, there was nothing there. I have now returned it, and going back to the Cobra. This site has a very respectable return policy.
