Pros: small, light, low power useage

I've got this up and running after the standard windows-update-for a-day install. I puchased a dual channel kit of ram to upgrade it to 8 gigs and I don't have any problems using it as a media pc. I did have to go and buy a wifi adapter stick though. The intergrated wifi failed on the second day. I thought I had a virus, because it bogged the net down so much, that i could hardly load a web page on any of the other computers on the network..Turns out, that after all my virus scanning, that it was just the death throws of the onboard wifi. After disableing the adapter, and getting a USB one, all seems to be running fine. My setup:Upgraded to 8 gigs ram64bit windowsexternal blueray2terabite externalexternal wifiwireless keyboard/mouseWorks great, now. But I probably wouldn't purchase it again.I had a lot of problems with it. And I don't see the benifit of RMAing it, because from what i've read... the wifi is a weak link on most zotac boards.

Cons: Drivers, Speed, Wireless streaming reception

Pros: Form factor, price
Comment:
I bought this machine at Xmas to serve as a small HTPC for my wife's tv. I have a larger machine that I built with an Intel board, I3 cpu, 4 gb RAM, SSD for OS and large data drive to store videos and serve to other computers. The large machine works flawlessly running on an N wireless network. Netbooks, IPAD and other desktop machines all stream video to and from the main HTPC.I thought the Zotac's small form factor and good reviews made it an economical choice for the intended use - streaming videos and access to the web on that TV. I loaded it with W7, but immediately began to have problems with various drivers. Windows 7 usually has up to date drivers, but in this case I needed to refresh them from Zotac's site. After eventually getting it running on a couple of tv's, I took it to a friend's house to demonstrate the benefits of an HTPC. I ran into HDMI handshake problems with his Westinghouse LCD tv. His other equipment works fine, but no way to get this one running. I brought it home and put it in final place with my wife's tv and immediately had problems streaming video reception. It can't keep up and continually stutters and freezes. I've configured several WDTV Live media boxes on that tv and they all received the signal and performed flawlessly. This Zotac will not. I'll have to re-purpose it for something less demanding than HTPC video reception. I'll just get a WDTV box for under a hundred bucks for her video. I'll try a bit more with Zotac to see if they can solve the problem. If I have a positive result I'll update  my review. This Zotac is disappointing and an apparent waste of money.

Cons: No on board bluetooth. Lights up worse that a Christmas tree.

Pros: Very small, light, almost completely silent. Many ports despite its diminutive size.
Comment:
I bought this Zotac to make a linux box to act as my gateway computer. It runs Ubuntu desktop 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) without a hitch: wifi practically configured itself, the hdmi out only needed the latest catalyst from ATI, everything else was recognized by the distro on first try. I use it mainly as a VPN, ssh, webdav and redmine server. Only technical qualm, and it is very minor, is that there's no bluetooth inside. I would have liked to use my bluetooth keyboard, but it's really more of an annoyance than anything else.On another note, think twice before putting this little gem in a bedroom: it glows red and green and lights up a room enough to move around without fear. And since it's a real hard drive and not a SSD, you do hear it spinning and moving its heads when it's very quiet around.Still, perfect for what I wanted it for.
