Cons: -Little documentation (Personally did not need)-Minor LCD bleed

Pros: -Fully funtional out of box-Nice appearance-Tests indicate functions to specs (12 watts, etc.)

There is not much information available about this device online at the time of this writing so I thought I would post a review. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this fan controller is. It looks nice and has been functioning well for a number of months now.Old information I found on this model indicated it had molex connectors at one time for the fans, which thankfully now is not true. It includes normal 3 pin fan connectors for the fans. There is not much documention in the box, but the installation was fairly straight forward. There are a lot of connections necessary to use this, but they are required to use the full functionality. I tested all the functions and everything worked properly, including the card reader, LCD display items, temperature probes, and fan control. The unit is rated at 12 watts maximum, and I am using 4 fans that come quite close to this at max and the unit performed fine. The only negative I could possibly list so far is that the LCD display backlight bleeds slightly into the adjacent knob light, slightly altering the color shade. It is very minor, but is present and worth mentioning. Now I will just have to wait and see how longevity is.

Appears fantastic, performs so far, and you can set the alarm temperatures exactly where you want them! To set alarm temps, press & hold the mode button for about five seconds. When the alarm digital readout begins flashing, press the C/F button to transform values. Press the mode button to advance to the subsequent thermocouple (T1, T2, T3, & T4). Immediately after pressing the mode button five instances, the show reverts to the "Auto" Setting. Can set in between 40C & 90C. Pretty easy to install, One particular 4-pin power connector, a single ESATA connector, 1 USB connector, four three-pin fan connectors, & four thermocouples (tape them exactly where you want temperature readings - tape supplied). Requires time but is not challenging. It actually is a cheap bit of flash (but it appears cool!). It really is a manual 4 fan controller and my motherboard can handle 3 automatically. Blue LED light from the fan knobs leaks up amongst the front panel at the SD/MMC & ESATA ports (fixed with black electrical tape). Purchased two of these for two new systems and a single had a undesirable thermocouple. Contacted nmediapc (email) and they say the replacement is in the mail. Will assessment once again if challenge arises. Buyer assistance is poor - when inquiring about replacing the thermocouple, I also asked how to set the alarm temps. They have not responded to this at all (two emails & 1 telephone contact). Operating my CPU fan off the motherboard. When degrees F chosen and setting alarm temps, some numbers will skip 鲮F for instance). This is simply because 43C = 109F & 44C = 111F; not a dilemma. Wouldn't have identified about adjustable alarm temps unless I had a terrible sensor - noticed it in nmediapc's solution description. Hope it keeps operating!

Looks great, Works sweet, Fair pricing, Lots of wires, I see some have complained about all the wires, I appreciate the truth that this tiny unit does so considerably and all the wires are needed to pull this activity off.I am incredibly delighted with this unit and have spent far more in the previous for different units that are now in the garbage.

Cool fan controller and temp probe options and functionality. Functions great as such as effectively as with any other memory type. !Compact flash above 4GB dont operate!I had the unit replaced and have tried working with their tech assistance to no avail. Whilst they are curtious and want to assist as soon as they couldnt fix my difficulty they went silent... Doesnt work in any machine I attempt on any internal USB connection (where other devices are fine). Gets only two stars mainly because CF is the main reason I purchased it. The reason it actualy gets 2 and not 1 is due to the fact atleast all the other functionality operates perfectly.

This is an update to my assessment below:This thing appears cool but thats exactly where the pros cease. Like I said beneath i have an Antec Twelve Hundred case which has built in fans and fan controllers but for 3 of the fans they are situated on the back of the case so i bought this to move the controls to the front. All Antec circumstances use 4-pin molex connections for powering the fans so i had to obtain 3-pin fan controller to 4 pin molex cables which only ended up working for 1 of the 3 fans. and to leading it all off the card reader doesn't work. i've attempted several cards and distinct USB connections. No luck. I've contacted the manufacture but they don't respond. newegg desires me to pay to ship this overpriced piece of plastic back to them just so i can get yet another 1 that doesn't work any much better. i say save your cash and obtain a separate card reader and fan controller since having them in a single unit definitely doesn't perform.

It looks fairly fantastic even though it performs Unit is a piece of junk. First a single I had the fan controller function stopped functioning right after two months, second unit got the media card reader wont function. Built really flimsy and tehc support is horrible, not worth the cash. Your way better off obtain a separate media reader and fan controller, thats what i ended up carrying out.

May I initial apologize to nMEDIAPC, this is a Very effectively made dashboard.User error...I'm not completely positive what happened, but (see prior overview) I believe the amp draw of the fan more than powered the controller. Unit controls affordable fans with no issues.User error again...I now realize that W7 recognizes the reader as a removable storage device, x 4, my undesirable again. Can't complain, previously also unfavorable.

- It has quite blue lights that match my case. - All the card reader and eSATA operate.- The knobs are straightforward to use and have a cool back light on them.- The display is valuable and vibrant, but not too vibrant.- It is a very cool addition to my pc. The 'manual' is bad. It isn't seriously a manual but rather a piece of paper with a handful of images on it with poorly written English accompanying the images. In addition, the back light from the console bleed into the appropriate side of the Ţ manage knob so that this knob is back lit with a half white and half blue light. The unit comes with traditional small 3-prong energy plugs whilst the fans in my case are the more substantial four-prong Molex form connectors. I had to get a bunch of converters to hook them up to this unit. The thermistors appear to be extremely delicate and come with a plastic tube more than them to guard them. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take them out of the plastic tubing or not. They look to perform while nonetheless becoming inside the plastic tubes, so I'll leave them on. The manual does not inform you that you can set the alarm temperature, but you can. To do so, just hold down the 'mode' button till the alarm temp flashes. Then, you can hit the 'C/F' button to raise the temperature to your desired alarm. You can hit the mode button again to scroll by way of the sensors. The manual also doesn't tell you what the issues are for that came with the unit. It appears that you can stick the thermistors to points so that they can get a superior reading. The notion of sticking items to hot heat sinks appears silly to me, but what do I know!General : a fantastic acquire.

Cons: The LCD screen cannot be turned offbright blue LEDSAdds many empty drives

Pros: 4 Fan controllers4 Temperature probesLCD Display
Comment:
This item lets me monitor my CPU heatsink temperature (which should be close to my CPU temperature) in my compute with an unlocked forth core. The manual fan controllers let me reduce the speed of my fans (which were spinning near max because no CPU temperature was available) and reduce the noise produced by more than 10db. The card reader part shows up as 4 empty drives which can be hidden. The LCD screen displays useful fan RPM and temperature information, but it is extremely bright and cannot be turned off. It can easily light up a room at night.

Operates precisely as advertised. Controls 4 fans, show you the temperature in 4 locations, and is a card reader! Functions Excellent! The only con is that if you turn a single of the fans all the way down, the controller actually makes it spin backwards, turning an exhaust fan into an intake fan. Rather of acquiring a fan controller and card reader, get this, cause it's an all in 1! Couldn't be happier!

Looks great installed, fan controls, temperature readings and media readers all works right from the start. Blue LED is crisp and clear to read. the screws that came with it are affordable and have tiny phillips head slots, a single stripped out proper away on install. the directions that came had been vague and pretty much useless. not much help for greatest feasible temp reading places or greatest way to attach them. My method is all black with blue LED fans and power button, this black five.25 media reader with the blue LEDs looks awesome in my case. The component itself is just a tad undersized for the five.25 bay so i had to use some thin thermal pad to get it so no light from inside the case would shine thru the front. worked fine appropriate from the get go but as I stated the instructions were awful and the web site offered even less help.

The LCD screen has an exceptional viewable range. four thermometers and independent fan speed controllers is good, and it reads cards well. The device is completely plastic, but nonetheless seems sturdy enough. It functions and it looks great. 11 cables tends to make cable-management a discomfort in the neck. The LEDs in the knobs are so vivid it's truly pretty much also brilliant to appear at when you're inserting your media cards. The manual does truly need improvement, as most of the stuff covered about the device you can quite substantially figure out on your personal, but the smaller factors, like inserting your SD cards upside-down that deserve to be mentioned someplace. Installing the screws was quite tough, they're like wood-screws because they essentially bite into the plastic as you go, but calls for a tiny screwdriver. So installation of this device was incredibly straightforward -- There;s your power cable, your sata cable (for eSata) and your USB cable for all media cards, and then you have four thermometers and four fan cables. 11 cables total. Wow. Also of note is that every single fan controller can control one fan only. It would have been fantastic if one particular of those fan controllers accommodated the fans that are designed to draw power from a PSU. No such luck.

I have an Antec Twelve Hundred riddled with blue LEDs so this is looks wonderful with every little thing else in the case. Love the dual truth of card reader and fan controller w/temp screen. Directions. The manual for this thing is full garbage. Cables are a hassle and be prepared to shell out perhaps บ far more for four pin molex to three pin fan cables if you have four pin molex fans like I do. I've been operating on installing this thing for practically 3 hours and I'm nonetheless not carried out (this factor is a nightmare to cable manage and just attempting to figure out how to do every little thing on you're own.)Also, the screws are sheet metal screws (the grip rather than just screw in) and are thinner than the ones most computer components use. I tried employing a screw just like it but flat tipped rather than pointed and located it to be too major. If everyone knows exactly where there is a guide for installation shoot me an e-mail (tarrguy57@yahoo.com) I give it three stars becauseɅ. instructions are horribletwo. will need to purchase additional cables just to make it perform3. sheet metal screws rather than regular screwsOn a side note, it took a week to get right here. Newegg's explanation was that it was ordered over a holiday. To me that must only delay it one day. I had to complain just to get a refund on shipping. Then when it lastly did show up UPS, which commonly is incredibly speedy and nice to my packages, the driver threw it onto my porch! He is lucky that it wasn't something super breakable!

Looks cool. Good blue lights. Nice cable wrap on USB wire. Opened box - found 'hot glue gun' glue loose in bottom, manufacturer utilizes this stuff to hold eSATA cable connector to circuit board. Popped off through shipping? Seriously, 'hot glue gun' on pc hardware, please?Wire monster, but vital, would be good if inclosed in a mesh cable cover - combining fan power in 1, the sensors in another and unit energy in a third, like Cooler Master and Corsair use on their cable harness. +++ Shed the antique power connector, replace w/ a 4pin modular style.Burnt two of the 4 fan controllers Ƒž) w/in a matter of minutes, controlling a Delta ("Hurricane") N82E16835213001. Cons: cont.Emitted 'hot electronic' smell from the start off ('hot glue' melting?)Temps from sensors do not match ASUS Pc ProbeII computer software, guess who I think? fiveǜ degrees distinction. After connecting to technique, I now have four much more "Removable Disk" drives? Simple install, no hassle. 4 fan controller with a really uncomplicated straight forward display. display rotates info from each and every probe and fan. Is clear to read. Virtually to bright led on fan dials. No instructions seriously necessary but the ones given are a joke. Cool searching unit that is effortless to use. Will possibly last longer than touchscreen units employing quite cheaply made and low high quality sensors.

Pros: Works as advertised, looks great and lights aren't to bright.

No molex control but 4 temperature probes, 4 fan controls, and USB/eSATA/Flashcard reader to make up for it!
