Cons: Wish it came with a molex adapter

Pros: Does it job
Comment:
Fan speed up or down. Got for $5 and Works perfectly. Only gripe is it doesn't come with an adapter. You can make this control 2 fans with the right adapters.

Cons: clutters case

Pros: analog control of fan speed
Comment:
This does what it is supposed to do. It comes with a double-sided piece of tape to mount the controller inside your case. I was able to connect multiple fans using a y cable and still control and monitor fan speed.

I like being able to adjust my fan speeds, allows me to silence my computer and then increase them if im overclocking. They are easy to mount with its compact design and included adhesive.

Cons: Can't connect a 4-pin fan

Pros: SmallAjustable speedCheap priceFast installation
Comment:
I used it to control the 3-pin side fan of my case. Great to reduce the noise of your fan in just a few seconds. Would be nice if we could connect the 4-pin fan which comes with Core2Duo cpu.

Cons: You have to break the connector or use a patch cable to fit a 4pin PWM fan, but it'll work so no real weaknesses...

Pros: Does exactly what I need it to - control two fans in a small case.
Comment:
This is an excellent product! Has no problems with two fans in parallel, and helps me keep my atom box cool 'n quiet. Would recommend to anyone who just need to control one or two fans but doesn't want to waste a 3.5/5.25 bay... This review was modfied by poster @ 12-29-08 02:38 AM

Cons: Can only control one fan

Pros: Easy to installLong cableRelatively inexpensive
Comment:
Nice inexpensive solution for controlling fan speed. It comes with a long enough cable, and a double-sided self-adhesive piece of tape so you can just stick it to one of the walls inside the case. Or outside, if you so prefer. I really like it because it installs between the MOBO and the fan, and it still allows you MOBO to see the fan RPM.

Cons: Can't think of anything not obvious.

Pros: Price. Quick install.
Comment:
This works well for when you just need to replace one single noisy fan. An example is power supply fan that seems to run way too fast for a possibly mediocre load.

Excellent little 3 pin fan controller with 5-11 volts adjustments.= ribbon cable length 32cm; 3 pin male and 3 pin female ribbon cable = dial adjustment knob - 7mm height, 5 mm diameter= double sided tape included incase you want to secure the controller to the case= eye hole option for securing the controller with a screw

Cons: could be a bit bulky in some situations

Pros: Works well, cheap, simple
Comment:
Great simple product to customize fan speed. Installation is simple, and the cables are long enough that you can install the box outside your case if you need to access the controls.

Cons: - Adds clutter to the case innards

Pros: - Great noise reduction- Very low price- Variable rpm
Comment:
I really like this product. In fact, I have more than 4 in my HTPC. This item is your friend if you want to make a near silent pc that still has good ventilation. They are cheap they work well, my only complaint is that they add to the clutter of the case. They should make a new version that you dont need to plug on the mobo or that directly plugs on the powerline.

Cons: doesn't work with 4 pin fan connectors, manual control only

Pros: quiets any heatsink, cheap, easy
Comment:
This will make any heatsink quieter- you can adjust the speed easily with the little knob and you can set it to precisely the speed you want. Its hardwired which is wonderful, though I suppose if you want it to automatically speed up when the cpu temp is higher, this won't do that for you. The fan mate is perfect for the stock crappy loud hsf's that come with your cpu, it quiets those well. Its also perfect for high end pricey heatsinks to quiet your system easily. This is a beautiful little device that doesn't require messy alternatives such as rewiring a molex connector to give your fan 7v instead of 12v...

Cons: excessive wiring

Pros: simple, small, versitile, functions as advertized
Comment:
All things considered, this is a great product. The excess wire does have it's applications and benifits. For my application, I'm considering some "custom" installation ideas.

Cons: None.

Pros: Great product to lower fan speeds when not needed. I have one that came with my Zalman heatsink and i keep it just so the CPU stays nice and cool and the fan silent. The cable is long enough for many configurations.
Comment:
Newer heatsinks have the auto fan adjuster, but this baby is still great with use on regular fans or older heatsinks.Buy this item and you will be happy you did

Cons: - Makes a wiring mess- Doesn't work with 4-pin fans

Pros: - Cheap and elegant way to control fan speed
Comment:
I used to use high-wattage potentiometers to slow fans, but that involved cutting the fan's wires. These cost more, but are a much slicker way to go. I'm using mine with an Arctic Cooling Arctic Fan 12L at 450 rpm. Fan noise is something no one should have to suffer from, so everyone should have one or more of these! Seems much nicer than the older version of the fanmate. Heatsink seems more substantial too. Haven't tested it on a voltmeter but it seems fairly linear.

Bought this for the noisy fan on my hd2600pro vid card. Had to do some soldering to rewire it but it works flawlessly. Slowed the fan down to the slowest setting and cannot hear the card fan now. Temps on the card went from idle 38c to 42-44c well within spec. Recommended.

Pros: Mount anyware-reliable
Comment:
I have started useing these instead of the high price mullty fan controllers. You can use them to cont. 2 wire fans. I mount 2 of them on the back side of an empty 5.25" bay and drill a hole so the cont. knob sticks out the front through the blank drive bay

I bought a couple of these to quiet my Duorbs a little bit. The Duorbs cool well, but are fairly loud at top speed. Turning the fan mate to medium on the dial keeps it at a nicer volume.I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I bought this to control the cooling fan on my video card cooler the Thermalright HR-03/R600 and it work great, even if the voltage adjustent is not linear it's easy to adjust, the connectors they used for this are really good, no lead will ever fall off and with a price match here it's unbeatable !
