Cons:
Has a bit of weight to it, still very portable though
Pros: Cools wellNot Plastic - will last longFan Speed ControlOn and Off buttonUSBs Comment:
What a great product. My CPU on my Dell Inspiron was heating up to 98 degrees celsius. This cooler has been unbelievable - literally dropping the max temperature by 20 degrees. The only downside is that my 15.6' laptop is actually slightly too wide for it, which is my fault for not taking measurements. But I bought some sticky rubber thingies and stuck them to the cool so it now holds my laptop properly. |

Cons: The vents are on the lower part of the unit...if you want cooling on the upper part of your laptop you will have to move your laptop done.
Pros: Very quiet and does it's job Comment:
The quality is good and it is fairly quiet. May take awhile to get used to the incline if you are used to having your laptop laying flat. |

Pros: Aerodynamically-designed notebook cooler with minimized noise and enhanced user convenience.Sleek design incorporating a high quality 3mm thick aluminum panel with a fine curvature and great cooling performance. Premium aluminum treated with D.S.A. Surface Processing. The Rubber Grip Strip prevents the notebook from sliding.Ergonomically designed to minimize user fatigue. Two centrifugal fans for consistent high air pressure and fast cooling performance.679 high capacity vent holes evenly distribute the flow of cold air to cool the entire notebook.Optimized ventilation structure and aerodynamic design provide excellent performance even during low noise level operation.Cools the notebook allowing its internal fan to operate quietly at low RPM, making it ideal for quiet environments such as libraries and offices.Powered by the notebook’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adaptor.Fan speed adjustable to accommodate the user's environment.Reduces the notebook’s temperature and noise level simultaneously. Comment:
Extremely well built and quiet. Notebook used to emit very hot air and the fan would get really loud. Now notebook fan doesn't even seem on and emits only a slightly warm feeling air. Fans on this thing are ultra quiet and give a cool breeze all aroundcomputer which is nice. |

Cons: Could use another USB port, but that's nitpicking.
Pros: Does a great job of cooling down laptops. Both old and new will benefit from a temperature drop. Comment:
This unit works great!! One of the best purchases I've made. It's made a big difference on a new and two older laptops. All have benefitted in a noticeable performance increase when used in conjunction with this unit. The first one I bought worked so well, I bought a second unit for another laptop. |

Cons: heavy, not a "take it with you" solution
Pros: Quiet, simple, works Comment:
The Zalman NC-1000 Notebook cooler is a great product for those of us who use high-powered notebooks as our desktop. It is quite quiet, and even with the variable speed fan at maximum the result is overall quieter since the notebook fan doesn't have to run at high speed to keep everything from frying. The overall temperature drop is very noticeable on this Acer Ferrari 4000, which has always run a bit warm, but as it's gotten older (and with the upgrade to 2 GB of RAM and a 7200 RPM hard disk) has been running seriously hot. No more. The NC-1000 has completely resolved that. Highly recommended. |
Picked this up to cool an ASUS RT-AC66U router and my modem to extend their longevity based on my networking usage in the house. Set it to low, and it's fantastic. Wired straight into a USB port off the router itself for power. For notebook users, it would have been nice for them to include a power cable for AC usage while at a desk and not be forced to occupy a USB port. However, it has a single replication USB port so you don't lose any net. If they went that far, why didn't they give you a few more for an extra buck or two?Other than that, works great and looks good.
