I am very satisfied with my new Garmin Nuvi 850 GPS. I love the voice recognition... I don't have to use my hands. So far it seems to be very accurate and meets my expectation. The price was great! I'm glad I bought it! |

Purchased after long consideration and was not disappointed. Was not aware that the model was being disscontinued, but after receiving I also got a complete map upgrade that took 4 and 1/2 hours on my satelite modem. Then within a few days of using it on a 500 mile trip, I receive another update on the OS. Great GARMIN! |

Great unit. I love the voice control - both hands on the wheel. The FM transmitter is a little week if you have a car that gets so-so reception (mine has a rear window antenna). Only thinkg missing is bluetooth. |

Price was great. Shipping and delivery was as advertised. However, I was a little dismayed one day later when I found the unit had been discontinued by Garmin. The Sales guy did talk me into a $20 guaranteed buyback plan. I was a little puzzled as to why at the time, but maybe that was the reason for the great price and BP. Not sure I will take advantage of the BP as I usually hang onto stuff longer than I probably should. I love the unit! Maps are accurate. Voice recognition works well. Have to hit the touch screen a little hard sometimes. Wish I bought the A/C charger at the time. I did not need Bluetooth so this unit fits my requirements. |

All of the features are helpful and in great working order except the voice activation. This does not discourage me about the product because I have never used a voice activated software that performed as expected. The first GPS unit I had that operated on my lap top (pre year 2000)had voice activation via external mike. The technology seems to not have improved much since then. After pushing the button and repeating the word ''back'' several times it is easier to just touch the screen. Changing the look of vechicles that appear on the screen was a lot of fun. I have downloaded a couple books but not listened to them yet. The battery life while being hand held is good for almost 4 hours as advertised. I would recomend this unit to my friends. |

I just love this gps unit.It is easy to use and even more than I expected. Everything about it is high quality and lots of fun. I wouldn't be without it and now I can't see how I got along without it. |

Was a good deal, now even lower in price. Maps are not up todate at lest in Yuma AZ, streets that have been here for years do not show up. Over all am happy with it. |

I love my new Garmin 850. Have been waiting a long time to buy it at an attractive price - and it was well worth the wait. Saved over $500 off list MSRP and the GPS system works very well. Easy to set up and install. Used it on several trips already and well worth the purchase price. The voice control system does not always correctly interpret voice commands. No complaints otherwise. Would definitely buy again. |

Touch Screen Display, 3D Map View, microSD Slot, Voice Commands, North American Maps Included but POI didn't work as faster like in the other version I had before, plus this device is missing a major feature : Bluetooth technology connection,I was a bit dissapointed, and return the unit the next day to the store. |
I purchased this unit hoping to take advantage of the speech recognition and assumably better maps and performance over my 205. I was very disappointed. The speech recognition feature is well implemented, but the thing just can NOT recognize your voice over any level of normal noise ie driving. The ONLY way it will work is if the car is stationary, idling, no radio or AC, and NO turn signal. Otherwise it will not work. However, assuming all those conditions are met, it does work well. I used my one free map update early this month, but the database is still missing significant information. Especially about areas where roads have been removed for years. Particulary bad in the Dallas area. And it has so many street POIs that are 1000s of feet off unlike 205 Anyway, I like G GPS but this one is not a good value. Look to a 265 or 255 or 205 for a good deal on a unit. Or be prepared to spend more for these advanced features on higher end model
