Cons: -keyboard volume buttons didn't work( even w/ keyboard driver)-thick-hdd is kinda slow

Pros: -matte black finish-sturdy keyboard, no fingerprints-price-video performance
Comment:
Overall a great laptop. Added an 80GB ssd and another 2GB of ram. The bios is pretty useless on this laptop, not much there. It does the job though, HD movie playback and mild gaming are great. AMD's apu makes this laptop worthwhile.

Cons: Slow CPU

Pros: pretty fast for being 12.1
Comment:
I wish i could overclock it a little. Comparing an i5 760 d 4ghz to this however, is unfair, so its still pretty fast. Cant quite run Runescape at max grfx, but thats due to only 2gb of ram.Super easy to upgrade ram though. Already bought an ocz 2 gb stick. They are on sale now for 10$

Cons: Wireless N only 74MbpsLan on 100MbpsLots of BoatwareSlow first time setup

Pros: PricePlays HD videoNice bodyNice LED backlite screenMulti touch tochpadexcellent battery life

Great Netbook, costs less than an Intel, AMD's APU is excellent. If i set the wifi transmission to 25%, hybrid engine to power saving with the screen brightness to low I can get about 7 hours of battery life which works fine for me for web surfing and office work. There was a lot of boatware installed with this computer and it took me sometime to uninstall them, but once I was done the start up time is very fast for a netbook. about 65 seconds to bootup and load the last startup program on the desktop. UEFI BIOS makes for a fast boot time.Upgrading the memory is very easy, but upgrading the hard drive is a pain. You have the take the computer apart to get to the hard drive and now the seams are a little popped up.I'm a bit disappointed in the network connectivity, the wifi is a bit weak in rage and is not a true wireless N at only 75Mbps NOT 150Mbps. The LAN is only 100Mbps NOT 1Gbps. But is still very functional. The LAN a is fast 11MB/s but I found the port to be loose and the Internet discounting easily if the wire is moved.Built-in speakers are weak and sound mono, headphones are fine but makes a noise when I assume the sound card turns on.Temperature, this computer feels worm on my lap, and never hot, only one fan inside.Overall it is an excellent netbook, I am very happy with its performance and battery life. Display is very bright and ASUS's shell body is beautiful.

Cons: Tons "bloatware" as they call it and unwanted programs, but I removed most of it (still some probably hanging around) and added my own anti-virus, Firefox browser, etc. Synaptics touchpad issue? Asus not acknowledging it yet.

Pros: HDMI, VGA, one usb 3.0, two usb 2.0Plays full HD 1080p.Very quiet fan. Can hear the hard drive slightly but not an issue.12" screen. Can hook up to my big screen tv with HDMI.Windows 7 64 bit O.S.

Added an extra 2GB ram (ordered the one they had on special for $14.99). Was recognized right away (instruction manual talks about disabling the "boot booster" in the BIOS but there was no "boot booster" found on my machine, so I just went ahead and added the ram and encountered no issue.)Moved up from a 10" 1000HE and can watch now watch those HD videos on sites like Vimeo. Perfectly suits my needs for traveling.Ok, so after about 7 days, after reading about the touchpad complaints here and on sites like Amazon, I decided to check it out. I use a Bluetooth mouse almost 100% of the time so had not given my touchpad much use. So, turned off the mouse and decided to spend some time on the netbook over the past 4 days, using the touchpad a lot.Lo and behold, I started getting some "freezes" wherein the cursor was completely frozen, mostly after using the right click. Have latest Bios, latest Synaptics drivers for the touchpad. FN F9 key combo did not make any difference. I would get the touchpad going again by shutting the computer off and then on again.Experimented and found that I could get the touchpad working perfectly again simply by pressing the power button once to put the netbook to "sleep" and then immediately pressing it again to wake it up, involving just a few seconds of sleep/wake, without having to totally shut down the computer. The touchpad immediately worked again everytime I did this sequence.I don't see how this could be a physical issue with the touchpad. Why would the touchpad start working again just because the netbook went to sleep for 5 seconds and was then woken up? What hardware/physical issue would cause that?Everything else seems so far to work just great. Curious about the touchpad issue and will keep experimenting.
